canadian mastercard surprise 3/26/2010

This company contracted to supply and install countertops in Canada. Not legal! Many shenanigans occurred such as their declaration to us that Customs had denied their entry due to ""excessive radiation"" in the granite. Right! Finally, the product arrives, pieces broken and pieces missing. Suddenly, it is ""our"" responsibility! We disputed the bill as a result of their business practices. They did not respond. A few months later, a new charge is made against our Mastercard. Whoa! Not only were we not communicating with this company, we were not even in town when they claimed to have had me sign this charge slip. Now that's tricky! We sued these slippery fellows only to be advised by the court that their ""contract"" placed all responsibility on the buyer. Gosh, there's that buyer beware stuff again. Well, this Canuck will think twice (or never) about dealing with these upstanding individuals again. Seattle area.....be careful! Cons: Unauthorized mastercard charge, bad contract more

Home Interior Pro Used To Be The Granite Cabinet Store 1/30/2010

Home Interior Pro used to be The Granite and Cabinet Store but changed names. Probably for the sketchy way they do business. I am convinced their positive reviews they are writing themselves. The demo and installation people they send out are rude, and act like you know nothing, and they are doing you a big favor. Long miserable story short I took a finacial hit just to get away from these guys. Someone else did the job. Watch out for their contracts. Pros: They Seem Great Cons: The service techs that come to your house, Extra charges. more

This is the place to get your granite countertops! 1/20/2010

I was looking for granite counter tops for a couple of weeks and was getting a little discouraged when I stopped in at Home Interior Pro. All the other places I had been had poor customer service, high prices and the only samples they had for you to take home were little broken pieces that didn't give you a clear idea of what you were getting. \r \r As soon as I walked in to Home Interior Pro, Viktor was polite and answered all my questions without being pushy. The selection they have is great, and they have real sample pieces for you to take home and look at. Viktor let me take home as many samples as I wanted and when I came back to get some different ones there was never a problem or a push to just pick one as I had at the other shops I visited. \r \r When it comes to price and service, I don't beleive you will do better than Home Interior Pro. From the time I made my selction to instalation was under a week, and what a beautiful job they did! Their attention to the details is great, I didn't believe my kitchen could look so good.\r \r Thank you Viktor and the installers, I will be sending everyone I know to your store, this is one very satisfied customer! Pros: Exceptional customer service Cons: None! more

dont even go there 1/4/2010

we had a terrible experience with this store, not only would they take your money away but they would also tie you up in their contract. BEWARE!!!!!!\r \r we decided to cancel on a job and we never got out refund back. Pros: deceivingly helpful sales agents Cons: decievingly helpful sales agents more

BUYERS BEWARE 11/2/2009

What a horrible experience! First, the total due was $300 more than proposal. Then, they delayed giving us a current Disclosure Notice & reduced the bond amount from $10,000 to $6,000. They also made a big hole in our wall, saying we needed to repair it. Due to their errors, they had to do 2 templates. 5 days later, they called saying we gave them the wrong measurements, so we needed to buy another slab ($1300), or our counter would have seams (although the contract states a template would be made to check measurements & the counters would not have seams) My husband resolved the issue by figuring out a new layout. The next day the Owner called saying the granite fabrication was delayed because of us so installation needed to be rescheduled. We again referred him to the contract, but he said it was our fault, and we needed to decide on a new date. Since we already paid 75%, we felt we had no other option. After the existing counter demo, the Owner called again saying we needed more work (@ $730+). We paid the final balance due and picked up the fabricated granite/remnants, backsplash, & sink. We notified them that 5’ of backsplash was missing; they said we could buy more for $220. BUYERS BEWARE! more

We had bad experience. 10/31/2009

Read their contract. Once you've signed your pretty much at their mercy. For us this place was a big mistake. Pros: Nice advertising on 180th. Cons: Their contract. more

Stay away from this place. 10/29/2009

It starts out nice, then once they get you into a contract that you can not get out of unless you want to lose your money, it gets really bad. Do not use this place if you are buying countertops. If you do you will be sorry. There tactics are very shady. Pros: There store looks nice. Cons: They will get you into a contract, then add new charges. more

Example to other Companies out there 10/14/2009

So I came into The Granite & Cabinet Store simply by luck as I was driving by them for the last two years and never knew they were there, I only saw them because of their sign guy on the corner of the driveway at the 43rd street plaza across the street from Baja Fresh and one block east of Ikea.\r \r I stopped in just to check out the store and get an Idea of what it would cost to remodel my Kitchen and Bathroom and to budget the project.\r \r I had my lay out of my kitchen and bathroom with me which I gave to the Salesperson. They were able Design my entire project exactly to what I had in mind and show it to me in 3D from every single point of view, AWESOME!\r \r Once I liked and approved the design they assembled a quote for me in a very short amount of time and to my extreme surprise the estimate was nearly 25% lower than what I was quoted from 3 other cabinet companies which did not even have the selection of Cabinets and Natural Stone as The Granite & Cabinet Store did.\r \r I placed the order even though I was not expecting to do so for another year because I thought I could not fit it into my budget but I was able to do so because of their awesome pricing.\r \r After about a week and a half The Granite & Cabinet Store Installers came out installed my cabinets which took them only 2 days and on the third day they came to template for the Granite Countertops and installed countertops within 1 week after the Template. WOW!!!!\r So my entire project which was quoted by other companies to cost me nearly 25% more money and take anywhere from 6-8 weeks only took The Granite & Cabinet Store under 3 weeks!!!!\r \r Thanks to The Granite & Cabinet Store, I have my brand new Beautiful Kitchen and Bathroom at least 1 year ahead of my originally planned schedule, nearly 25% less then quoted by other companies and everything looks AWESOME!!! \r \r THANKS GRANITE & CABINET STORE, YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!\r Pros: On time and on budget! more

Not on Time and Not on Budget 9/2/2009

Our problems with this business were immediate, on the very first day 13 June 2009 the installers came to put in the counter tops, we were informed that our counters were not level and the walls around the counter needed prep work. We were never informed that preparation of the walls above the counter was our responsibility.\r \r So, the installers left the work site after a partial installed. We were advised to contact the Granite Store and inform Viktor about the problem. Viktor informed us that he could have the counter tops leveled and that process would incur an additional cost. After we reached an agreement on having the counter tops leveled, by one of the Granite store employees we assumed things would move along.\r \r However, on Monday 15 June 2009 when the employee arrived he informed us that he had another contract and he would sort of fit us in when he could, he was running between our site and Bellevue. After working a couple of hours he left and did not return until the 16 June 2009 at 0900 after promising he would be at our site at 0700. \r \r After I approach the employee about our time constraints, he explained in very deliberate terms that he was doing us a favor and if we had a problem we could look elsewhere for help. Although, I was extremely annoyed with his work habits and his attitude I knew, that if I replaced this guy it would further delay the installation process. The Employee left the job site at 1100 Hrs and did not return to finish his work until the 17 June 2009. \r \r Although he was an employee of the Granite store I was told to pay him with a separate check. I gladly paid this employee with a separate check just to get rid of him.\r \r Due to this delay, the granite installation process stalled and now I was informed they would need to reset my appt times in order to complete the granite installation. After a 4 day delay they returned to install the remaining counter tops on 20 June 2009. \r \r \r However, I noticed they had the incorrect height for the splash walls. I was informed by the installers they would once again reset our appointment. \r \r So, Monday 23 June 2009, I was informed the job was complete. Initially, it looked as if the job was well done, however, after taking a closer look I could tell the counter tops were poorly installed, large gaps existed between the granite pieces and the wall and underneath where granite was placed on the counters. In one area of the wall the granite actually barely braced the wall. Granite around the sink area sits higher than the window ceiling. I was told the granite would have no seams; however that was not true, Bottom line I will need to call in another installer and have the work corrected. \r \r This was a poorly planned and executed contract by the Granite Store. They had to prepare some of the Granite at the job site and never gave consideration that granite dust would settle on cars, side walks and driveways in the neighborhood. \r \r They exercised no caution in regard to our wood floors and were very unprofessional. On the 27 June I received a call from the owner demanding that I pay additional cost for the granite and if not she would place a lien on our house. This Company’s conduct is absolutely inexcusable and borders on being criminal. I paid all of the monies due on this contract according to our agreement. I have had other contractors look at this work and they are astonished at the poor installation workmanship. I am presently waiting on bids in order to correct the faulty installation.\r \r I could never in good conscious recommend this business to anyone. Pros: Excellent Sales Pitch Cons: Poor Service and Performance more

Fast and reliable 7/27/2009

We stopped by the Granite & Cabinet Store after getting 4 other quotes from local companies in Renton / Seattle area. We had our cabinets picked out already with another company but didn’t find any granite that we liked with them. We were greeted with very courteous staff and had all our answers answered thoroughly. We found a granite we liked after a few days of going thru their large selection and were very pleased with the price we were quoted. We put an order in for the granite and were waiting on the cabinets which we were originally told would take 4-6 weeks by the company, we received a call back a week later saying that they were going to be delayed an additional two weeks from the original ETA.\r We asked the sales person we were working with, Viktor, to quote us out on the same layout and design of cabinets. We were shocked when he called back the next day and was a little over 30% cheaper and said that they will have them in three weeks guaranteed time. We decided to order the cabinets as well with the Granite & Cabinet Store. Our cabinets came in less than 3 weeks and were delivered immediately. We had the cabinets, granite and backsplash installed at the end of the fourth week. We couldn’t believe that it was all done when it was. We would highly recommend The Granite & Cabinet Store for cabinets and granite, we had an above than expected professional experience with the Sales staff, installation crews and the quality is unbelievable\r Pros: Professional and experienced more
