Our problems with this business were immediate, on the very first day 13 June 2009 the installers came to put in the counter tops, we were informed that our counters were not level and the walls around the counter needed prep work. We were never informed that preparation of the walls above the counter was our responsibility.\r
\r
So, the installers left the work site after a partial installed. We were advised to contact the Granite Store and inform Viktor about the problem. Viktor informed us that he could have the counter tops leveled and that process would incur an additional cost. After we reached an agreement on having the counter tops leveled, by one of the Granite store employees we assumed things would move along.\r
\r
However, on Monday 15 June 2009 when the employee arrived he informed us that he had another contract and he would sort of fit us in when he could, he was running between our site and Bellevue. After working a couple of hours he left and did not return until the 16 June 2009 at 0900 after promising he would be at our site at 0700. \r
\r
After I approach the employee about our time constraints, he explained in very deliberate terms that he was doing us a favor and if we had a problem we could look elsewhere for help. Although, I was extremely annoyed with his work habits and his attitude I knew, that if I replaced this guy it would further delay the installation process. The Employee left the job site at 1100 Hrs and did not return to finish his work until the 17 June 2009. \r
\r
Although he was an employee of the Granite store I was told to pay him with a separate check. I gladly paid this employee with a separate check just to get rid of him.\r
\r
Due to this delay, the granite installation process stalled and now I was informed they would need to reset my appt times in order to complete the granite installation. After a 4 day delay they returned to install the remaining counter tops on 20 June 2009. \r
\r
\r
However, I noticed they had the incorrect height for the splash walls. I was informed by the installers they would once again reset our appointment. \r
\r
So, Monday 23 June 2009, I was informed the job was complete. Initially, it looked as if the job was well done, however, after taking a closer look I could tell the counter tops were poorly installed, large gaps existed between the granite pieces and the wall and underneath where granite was placed on the counters. In one area of the wall the granite actually barely braced the wall. Granite around the sink area sits higher than the window ceiling. I was told the granite would have no seams; however that was not true, Bottom line I will need to call in another installer and have the work corrected. \r
\r
This was a poorly planned and executed contract by the Granite Store. They had to prepare some of the Granite at the job site and never gave consideration that granite dust would settle on cars, side walks and driveways in the neighborhood. \r
\r
They exercised no caution in regard to our wood floors and were very unprofessional. On the 27 June I received a call from the owner demanding that I pay additional cost for the granite and if not she would place a lien on our house. This Company’s conduct is absolutely inexcusable and borders on being criminal. I paid all of the monies due on this contract according to our agreement. I have had other contractors look at this work and they are astonished at the poor installation workmanship. I am presently waiting on bids in order to correct the faulty installation.\r
\r
I could never in good conscious recommend this business to anyone.
Pros: Excellent Sales Pitch
Cons: Poor Service and Performance
