Best

We've been going here for years. The food is always great and the service impeccable. You cannot beat the fish for preparation and freshness.

Worst

I felt the food was of the same quality as Red Lobster, but much more expensive. Pretty typical chain quality. And, the calamari wasn't light and refreshing, but quite heavy and...

Service - Second to None! 7/17/2010

Looking for a great Sunday Brunch that is family friendly? My husband and I took our four granddaughters to Sunday Brunch for their birthdays. The four young ladies included three thirteen-year-olds, and one twelve-year-old. The four of them were dressed up and ready for this annual outing with Grandma and Grandpa. The wait staff was amazing! They pampered the girls and helped them feel special. When I started to take a picture, a gentleman came over from another table and offered to take a picture of all of us. It turned out that he was a regular customer who looked forward to his Sunday Brunch experience several times a month. When my husband got the check, our waiter had applied the "Birthday Discount" to each of the girl's meals. This is a great place to take someone special for a memorable event. And on top of everything else, the selection and flavor of the foods was wonderful! Pros: Experinced Wait Staff Cons: A little pricey, but worth it more

Something Fishy and Always Tops 7/15/2010

I have been going to The Fresh Fish Company since it opened. Although I live a three hour drive away, I save to go. I have never been disappointed. I have tasted so many fish dishes that I had never heard of, and found so extraordinary. The service is excellent; love the way I am treated. Now I belong to the birthday club, and I and my family had a marvelous lunch. The aquariums are a plus, especially when I take friends for the first time. There is always plenty of wheelchair parking available. Plenty of food on my plate. The best Fish Restaurant in the Denver area. On a scale of minnow to tuna, it rates a Sushi Grade Yellow Fin.! Pros: Wheelchair Parking; Great Service Cons: None that I know of. more

Fresh fish and great service 7/11/2010

I have been going to The Fresh Fish Company for at least 15 years 4 or 5 times a year and in that time I have only had 1 problem. The manager took care of it right away and made sure that everything else went well. If you like seafood and good friendly service I promise you that you will love The Fresh Fish Company. Pros: Great fish and service Cons: noisy and crowded more

A really special Birthday Meal 7/11/2010

I went for my birthday dinner and was greeted with a smile from the time we arrived til we left. We enjoyed our meals because the staff and managment made our eating at their restarant an enjoyment.. They made our meal at the restarant a special event not just another meal. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection and tasted GREAT. Thanks Fish Company for a special Birthday treat. Pros: Tremendous Meal and Excellent service Cons: NONE more

The incredible atmosphere and the delicious seafood 5/30/2010

Everytime I went to the Fresh Fish Company, from the Owner, Management to the Bus Boy that they made me feel so good and they were very friendliness to the customer. Then the food came out, they were so delicious, just take your breath away, from the decoration, the taste of the food were so devine. The service and the taste are out of this world, I am stronghly recommend to everyone about the Fresh Fish Company. If you have not try the Fresh Fish Company you do not know what you are missing. Pros: The friendlyness, wonderful service and delicious seafood Cons: none more

GREAT!! 5/29/2010

We have particularly grown fond of the luncheon shrimp scampi, but we've enjoyed everything we've ever ordered. There are many resaurants which could learn a great deal from studying The Fresh Fish Co. We hope they're ever on the Denver scene. Our daughter and son-in-law, visitng from Germany, are meeting friends there this evening by our receommendation. Dave and Carol Ross Pros: Great food and drink, reasonable prices, excellent service Cons: Can't get there often enough! more

Best Place for Any Occasion 5/24/2010

This is my "go to place", when I'm entertaining out-of-town guests, celebrating a special occasion, or catching a lunch between business appointments. Whether it is a group of 8 or I'm on my own, I have always received friendly and courteous service. That along with the menu variety and excellent food preparation makes it the first place to consider for lunch brunch or dinner. Pros: Excellent service, food always fresh, more

Best Fish By Far! 5/21/2010

My husband and I dined at The Fresh Fish Company for my 60th birthday. A very special meal for me. I was not disappointed. We were catered to in so many ways. The fish was very tasty and succulent. A nice quiet table by ourselves. Even though it was snowing horribly outside, we had a warm, relaxing dinner for two. I highly recommend. Pros: Very fresh, lots of choices, delicious! Cons: A little noisy and busy, but still wonderful more

The Fresh Fish Company 5/14/2010

The food & serve is excellent. A large menu to pick beutifully served dishes. The sauces they offer are a way to brighten up a nice mild fish. The side dishes are all excellent too. We were lucky to have a very friendly wait person that was willing to answer our questions. This is a nice place to take out of town visitors. Pros: fresh fish @ a fair price Cons: don't live close enough more

A once great Restaurant gone bad 4/26/2010

Found a dead white work in the salt shaker, told the server, not a word of apology or offer to discount the meal. Food was great years ago, something happened, the food was awful, i will no longer go there, and would advise anyone reading this to stay clear. AWFUL!!!!! Pros: Used to be Good Cons: Poor food, found a dead worm in the salt shaker,. more

"Special Treat"? NOT IN MY BOOK! 4/17/2010

The place is a joke. Used to have excellent calimari...no more. Used to have decent service...no more. Always has had the tacky decor. Pros: None Cons: The food, the decor, the service - pretty much everything. more

A special treat for us 4/13/2010

I'm surprised to see and read the March entries from folks who found The Fresh Fish Co way below their standards. For us, it's a special occasion to head in for dinner; especially on our birthdays. I'm seriously into well prepared and unusual fish that're hard to find fresh in a high, dry desert. My Honey loves their filet mignon, and that's about all she orders there anymore, although she thinks some of the side dishes, e.g. Vanilla Sweet Potatoes, could be entrees. The Filet is almost as high a quality steak as you'll find in Denver, and for a decent price. The fish is, however, in the spotlight. Even with the most unusual and eclectic preparation combinations one can create, I can always taste the superb quality seafood, including their shellfish offerings. The wine list is more than just sufficient and the wait staff has a good knowledge of pairing, even if we get a wine flight. We've only had dessert a couple of times, and they were delicious which still 'light.' The menu itself isn't a work of art or marketing genius, but the contents make the time to study it well worth the minor effort. Some of the fish have to be tried just to be believed and understood, and the waitstaff is typically a great guide with their knowledge. We don't rush any part of the meal, and the waitstaff doesn't push anyone. I'm guessing the typically turnover on a table is about 1:15 or even 1 and a half hour. So, calling ahead for a reservation is a good idea, at least for dinner and almost certainly Sunday brunch. We've always found reservations easy to make and even to change. The bartenders appreciate a good pour of good quality liquor, and typically serve some of the best highballs in town. In the last couple of years the reception staff have not been quite as gregarious, pleasant, conversant, and cheerful, but are still fine. In sum, this is a moderately priced restaurant with some high quality food, and is on our list of preferred restaurants for us and meeting friends. Having to drive over an hour to get to it from the mountains, we wouldn't go there if it weren't special. I highly recommend it, even if it's not your birthday. Pros: Menu, food quality, the bar, and almost always service Cons: Have to pay for what we order more

Love seafood 3/31/2010

My wife and I are regular seafood eaters. We love fish that is fresh; grilled or blackened. We go to the Fresh Fish Company regularly and always had a good experience. Since we signed up for the birthday club, we always got the birthday discount before our birthday. Both of us are over 60, the discount is great (based on age). For the sides, we love the mash potato, the yam and the tomatos. To avoid the crowd, go there early or late. Our schedule is flexible so we have managed to avoid the real peak time successfully. Pros: Fish is fresh, birthday club a real deal, love the sides Cons: Crowded sometimes more

YUCK! 3/14/2010

We had not been to Fresh Fish for years but the last time we went there it was horrible. I'm sorry to say that nothing has changed except for some remodeling. I made a reservation and when we got there, they seated us in the back next to the waiter station. When I asked if it would be noisey, the waitress told me that if we wanted to move, the wait would be at least a half and hour to an hour so we decided to stay there and chance it. The booth they seated us in was not attached to the floor and so everytime the people behind us moved, we moved too! We ordered mussels and escargot for starters. The mussels must have been sitting in the steamer for several hours and the escargot was simply drinched in butter and a bunch of herbs. Both were luke warm. When the entrees came, they were all cold too and my daughter's coconut shrimp was saturated with grease. The food is horrible, the decor is outdated and it is severely overpriced for the quality. Do yourself a favor and spend half as much and go to Red Lobster. As bad as Red Lobstger, it's better than Fresh Fish! Pros: There are none Cons: Too many to mention more

Sorry to says this place has went down hill! 3/6/2010

I n the past year this Denver land mark has went down hill like a sled. The prices are high and portions are small. The lunch fish portions are 3 or 4 onces and are $12.99.A very small cup of clam chowder is $4.99.I will think this place is a wast of money and time to go to..... Pros: Friendly people Here Cons: Their is not much that is a CON ANY MORE....here more

STAY AWAY ! 2/2/2010

Went last week for my b-day and friends b-day and 8 other friends. * bday special card is not what it says and they don't tell you til you are paying * service is BAD BAD BAD ! I thought the bus boy was going to punch someone with the hateful look on his face. we were afraid to ask for things. *when we did ask for things like silverware, napkins and water, we never got it and ended up taking it off another table. (not water!) *rarely clean plates available when going back to buffet. Had to wait long periods of time for them to come and by then a long line had formed and all plates were gone again *when going through buffet, the area is so small and crowded that it was difficult to get through, again took a LONG time *food was mediocore at best. Bland, tasteless and I make WAY better crab legs at home. *Hostess and other waitstaff were not friendly during the whole bad experience *We had reservations and still had to wait a half hour to be seated *I agree with all the other bad reviews Glad the day wasn't my actual b-day or the day would have been ruined. I/we usually tip 40% for great service. tipped the bare minimum for this one. STAY AWAY! Pros: we live in a big city and we have other places to go Cons: again...stay away more

Expensive Bad! 11/6/2009

Every staff member from door to the waitress were horrible. 1. I usually dont care for waitress to keep on checking on us, but having to ask 3 times for silverware (which was not on the table since we were seated) and having eventually to take them myself from next table is a total shame. 2. While leaving ( I was still at the table signing the check.) my daughters bottle fell on the floor (which my wife did not notice right away) and at the same time one of their associate was passing by, saw the bottle on the floor and did not even bother to let her know or pick it up. 3. Dont even want to mention the rest of their unfriendly service and very so-so food. Red Lobster, way better and cheaper that this place. Want to eat fish while watching them swim go to Denver Aquarium Restaurant and see sharks swimming next to you. Pros: Its expensive, so it should be good, right? Cons: Horrible Service and Food. more

very Flexible 11/5/2009

Just what each of us was looking for. Satisfied 3 picky eaters you did a stellar job Pros: server Bryon was great Cons: none more
