The Fountain Spa

My sister is getting married in 2 weeks and we thought why not get the girls together for a spa day. We decided to go with a package - " Finishing Touches for the bridal party" included full body massage and pedi. I have been to spas all over the world and can honestly say this spa delivered the most terrible experience I have ever encountered in what should have been a relaxing and memorable day. Our Spa Day included: - First off, the facility needs some major updating- the massage rooms felt like a hospital facility not like a soothing relaxing atmosphere and the building needs to be revamped period it has not been updated since inception - The pedicure began with the technician stating "If you girls take a shower you will mess up your pedicure and right after I am done I am leaving I have an hour and a half commute" In other words, I won't be here to fix an issue for you so don't shower and let's get this over with - pedicure was terrible half the time they leave a salt scrub and cold towel on your feet, no massage involved, nothing great about it- I'll stick to my $25 pedicures in a local nail salon thanks! - massages felt pretty good at the time until the next 3 days when I literally could not move/bend without pain. This should not happen after a full body massage, I can see soreness pain after a swedish massage or deep tissue but not a normal full body massage, And for pretty much all of the girls to say they are in pain after the day we visited the spa it is not just me. - One of the girls had a masseuse that spoke to her through the whole massage about divorce etc... well isnt that relaxing? No one should be talking during your massage unless welcomed- and it was not welcomed. - We did take showers because quite frankly it's pretty disgusting to go out to dinner as a group full of oils from a massage and fresh out of a steam room- one of us did smudge our toenail and upon walking up to one of the few techs still in the facility- she responded " i dont even know where your color is" so stellar! more

This is a 5 star day spa all the way. Go for a full day, treat yourself. I've been treated very well, anything I've had done was done well. I had the most relaxing day there 2 weeks ago. There are 2 day spas I use, The Fountain and Christine Valmy in River Edge. Both are 5 star day spas. Lux is up the road from the Fountain, I gave them 1 try and poofers, I never came back. The robe is delightful, I wish I knew where to purchase one that nice. I definitely recommend The Fountain. If they're busy, go to Christine Valmy for "The Valmy Grande Experience", they're just as good and cater to the clients also. Just don't go to Lux right up the road across the street. It's not my cupa tea. It's a want to be day spay that can't cut it. I wasted a fortune there, never again. more

Why did it take almost 2 years to respond to Paul C's review? I am a regular customer at the Fountain (and have been for almost 10 years) and I feel that the operators are wonderful, talented and professional and I would not think to go elsewhere. However, the Fountain management is uncaring and unresponsive to their needs as well as their client's needs, which makes the experience less than it could be (takes the 5 stars to 3 stars). more

My husband and I had a wonderful spa experience for our 10 year anniversary. However, at check-out time, we had to go the the little boutique to pay and the young woman behind the register was very rude and unprofessional. She neither made eye-contact or was polite and I never heard a "thank you' from her. She was down-right rude and it left a very poor impression on us which was suppose to be a special anniversary spa experience. more

I wish I could write a more in-depth reveiw of this establishment, but I was never given the opportunity. I'm currently serving this country in Iraq and wished to take care of my girlfriend even when i cannot be around to do it in person. So I contacted the Fountain Spa via e-mail to ask some questions and arrange a visit for my girlfriend. I never received any sort of response. After 3 attempts to contact them, I have yet to receive anything back from them. This reflects terrible customer service. And I'm fairly certain that it's not an issue with their e-mail provider that prevents them from responding. My e-mails were sent at fairly decent intervals. Having previously been employed with an internet service provider, i can say with certainty that e-mail issues are always resolved relatively soon. I'm incredibly disappointed with this place and I can assure you that I will not be providing them with any of my business. more

THIS PLACE IS THE ESSENCE OF GLAMOUR. THIS IS A GREAT FACILITY...BEAUTIFUL BUILDING AND FACILITY FOR A DAY SPA. I HAD MY HAIR DONE HERE AND OMG..TALK ABOUT LUXURY. THERE IS PLUSH FURNITURE IN THE BACK WAITING AREAS..THEY HAVE GOURMET COFFEE MACHINES WHEN YOU ARE WAITING FOR YOUR HIGHLIGHTS TO BE DONE. IT'S SO GREAT, AND THEY PAMPER YOU SO WELL HERE. THE QUALITY OF THE WORK THE GIRL'S DO IS TOP NOTCH ALSO. I LOVE THIS PLACE..BUT IT IS SUPER EXPENSIVE...MORE THAN MY BUDGET CAN AFFORD MOST OF THE TIME, SO THIS IS AN OCCASSIONAL TREAT. OVERALL THOUGH....THIS IS A HIGH CLASS BEAUTIFUL SALON...ENJOY THE FOUNTAIN!!! more

For a fun filled day of relaxation, the Fountain is the place to go. Have to get the best manicure, this is the place. Major pampering going on here! Excellent body wraps. Their professional services render the most relaxing massages, your going to go to sleep. Make an appoitment early and enjoy! more

The fountain is a great day spa. It's conveniently located right off the highway. I've had many massages, pedicures and facials there. The place has a very relaxing atmosphere. They give you the greatest robe to wear! I treat myself to a massage quite often and feel it helps my back problems. I've also eaten there and the food is very good and they serve you very refreshing lemon water throughout the day. Try the hotstone massage, it's great. more
