The Cat Doctor

I would recommend this vet to anyone who needs or wants high quality veterinary care. Simply put, the entire office is a highly professional one. The main reason that I always get such a great vibe from this place starts with the unbelievably competent staff of women at the front desk. These people are incredibly warm and caring, in addition to being patient and knowledgeable. more

This place is pretty dreadful. It's hard to get through on the phone, and the front desk staff can often be quite rude. Those aren't the biggest problems, however, as they pale in comparison to the nastiness of the veterinarians themselves and to the exorbitant expense of all the tests and procedures they happily push on panicked pet owners. When our animals are sick, we trust our veterinarians to have their best interest at heart, under the assumption that all vets are animal lovers, and Dr. Milner drives home the point that this assumption is misguided. She is, in a word, heartless. I took my cat there a couple years ago, and, even though she has since died under the care of another vet, the experience with Dr. Milner remains one of the most upsetting experiences I ever hope to have with a healthcare professional. She's terrible. If you can afford how quickly the cost of care can skyrocket there, at least insist on seeing Dr. Andeer. With many cats of her own, some of them quite ill in their own right, she's the sole light in an otherwise dark place. more

I personally had a wonderful experience at this office. We recently moved to Philadelphia and foolishly assumed that because our cats had recently been to the vet and vaccinated, we would not have to find a vet in Philly. That was obviously a mistake when our male cat had an emergency the other day. I naturally panicked because I didn?t have anybody to bring him to. The Cat Doctor was fantastic: I called them twenty minutes before I got there. They were caring and knowledgeable. When I came with my cat, I told them I absolutely had to be at work that day because I had just started a new job. They were very understanding and they gave me an estimate before I left that included a low, medium and high cost. They kept my cat for me until 6:30 that night and they kept in touch with me throughout the day and they did not make me feel like I was being unreasonable when I called for a status check multiple times. Their estimate was on target and there were no surprises. The Cat Doctor is honestly completely out of the way for us, but having had such a good experience with every single person I came into contact with- from the front staff, to the nurse, to the vet: these are our permanent vets!!!!! Dr. Eigner may have a lot of experience but she has absolutely no people skills. I have to tell you I am not terribly impressed with her vet skills either. She misdiagnosed my cat ( not listening to me tell her I felt his condition was caused by a botched pprocedure done at her office) and cost me nearly 2,000 dollars in unnessisary treatment for the wrong ailment. When it was proven by Dr. Andeer that I was rigt all along, and my cat was dying from a botched dental cleaning done at that office they would not refund my money. On a regular basis this is the most expensive cat vet you can find. They charge double and often triple what another vet charges and they are deceptive about how much things will actually cost. I have never had a bill from them anywhere close to what they claim it will be going in. Pros: That she works with Dr. Andeer who is a good vet Cons: Too expensive, Not honest, Arrogent, Zero people skills more
