I can honestly say that the cheeseburger i ordered here was among the worst burgers i have ever had - anywhere. i think it was from the frozen foods section of the local supermar...

Worst restaurant 7/6/2008

Beer was flat even in the can. Waited 30 minutes for that! Exchanged for bottles. Waited another 30 minutes for food. Fried clams were overcooked and fried oysters literally fried to a crisp! cole slaw was sliced cabbage with mayonaise. overcooked carrots and peppers for a vegetable. Dry lettuce and a sorry slice of tomato. Bill over $50 for lunch! Stay away! more

PLEASE do NOT eat here!!! 7/6/2008

This was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We went on the 4th of July, as first time visitors to CA. This was the last night of our vacation, and we were looking forward to a nice relaxing seafood dinner, followed by fireworks. NOT! There were so many warning signs that we ignored: a ""special"" menu for the holiday with limited entrees, notices that there was a $25 minimum per person that day, and a note that the restaurant was not responsible for anyone getting ill from their shellfish...SERIOUSLY? Squeezed in, plastic tableclothes, not what I was expecting for our bill that would evidently be over $100 plus tip for our party of 4. But we ordered: while our meal was to include bread and a vegetable (no salad, and no drink refills), after waiting nearly 30 minutes, we still had no bread. I asked the waitress, who said that bread came with the meal. Not wanting to cause her more problems, we said we'd wait. An hour after placing our orders, one dinner arrived, and it was cold. We waited another 10 minutes, and then were told that they were out of what I had ordered. Are you kidding?! Over an hour after it is ordered, and you just find out now? This was so completely unacceptable, I asked to speak to the owner, just knowing that he too would find this unacceptable and strive to ""make things right"". Nothing could be further from the truth! He arrived at our table, took one look at our video camera sitting there (turned off with the lens cap on, as we had been videoing the harbor earlier) and completely FREAKED OUT! He refused to speak to us completely, and stormed off, even though we immediately put the camera away. Needless to say, we were done and left, trying to warn other potential patrons on our way out. This was absolutely the worst restaurant I have ever been to and it needs to be shut down. Cannot stress enough how bad this place it. PLEASE do NOT go there!!! One star rating is too high for this place! Pros: View if seated outside Cons: Absolutely everything else!! more

I love their clam chowder 6/29/2008

great place if you are looking to eat clam chowder!!! The owner is a kind Egyptian man who will make sure that everything is just right for you. Findind a good place for sea food can be hard, but here the food is deliciously made!! Pros: If u go at this time of the year you'll find pretty waitresses Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE more

Avoid at all costs! 5/29/2008

We went for Hour Hour and the laughs were on us!\r Paid $42 for greasy, over-fried frozen food----5 small calamari rings, 5 cocunut shrimp, 5 tempura shrimp, -----a domsetic beer, and a Bloody Mary sans celery stick. \r This does not include the order of steamed clams in ""brown sauce"" that smelled like feces! (Sent back w/o charge.) In hind sight, I guess it was our fault for ordering them since a warning sign did appear right on the menu: ""The Angler's Choice is not responsible for any side effects that may result from eating oysters, clams, or any other shell fish. You will be eating them at your own risk."" Keep in mind this is a seafood restaurant in Marina del Rey,CA.... not a coffee shop in the midwest. \r Could have been worse. Had we ordered 30 minutes later, the bill would have jumped to $84.\r \r If in the area during Happy Hour, we suggest going next door to El Torito. \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r Pros: marina view, Cons: food quality, price more

great buisness and the foods there and especially the club 5/6/2008

NICE resturant ever. and jonasberg ur wrong 100% u must of did something to get a bad view about it ok. if it wasnt amazing why is there going to be a biggest party on feb about 500 people are going. the party is about a girl tat is turning 16 and she loves it. it maybe be expensive its because your in the marina duh. el torito is expensive and the italian place. Worst restaurant in LA? 4/21/2007

My husband and I thought that this restaurant might, though it looked like a total dive, be an ok place to have an ok seafood meal. Unfortunately, it was quite possibly the worst meal we have ever had. The clam chowder was inedible. The scallops were small, possibly undercooked, and covered with half a bottle of what appeared to be Prego spaghetti sauce. The fish and chips were so beyond deep fried that the insides had practically been liquified. Our only consolation was to drink lots of beer and try to find some humor in the situation. Our poor fellow diners seemed as depressed as we were with just how bad the experience was. Avoid this place at all costs. Pros: An ok view of the marina Cons: Everything else more

Pros: EVERY OTHER SAT CLUB NARAIN PUT ON BY L.A. HOUSE ITS GREAT!! Cons: OWNER IS AN A#$%^*HO more

Best new nightclub 1/21/2007

A group of friends and I went to the club last night (Club Narain) located above the restaurant. Apparently it's now under new management and by the sound of it they've really turned the place around. They opened for a couple days to ""test the waters,"" but their grand opening is next Friday. Anyway, we all had a great time. They've got their own registered cocktail called The Angler's Hanky Panky which looked at little expensive ($17), but when it came you could see why. If you can finish one, you'll be good for the night. The view, service, atmosphere were all great. more

this place is the absolute worst place to eat in the world 7/10/2006

when you walk in to the place there are flies all around the door. then you walk in and wait to be greeted but they dont have anyone there. you sit at a booth and prey that some server feels sorry for you and takes your order. the manager or owner is yelling at every employee there with a lit cigarette in his mouth. 20 minutes after sitting down the bartender looked at us and felt bad so he took our order. 1 hour later we get fish and chips and some kind of crab leg. the crab leg cost like 40 dollars. it was insane. not to sound cheap but they even charge for refills of soda. im serious. there menus look like old elementary school binders. while we were there the same cd played over and over. when we got the bill it was hand written. they didnt even have a real register. the bill was incorrect so the bartender gave it back to the owner or manager. apparently he does all the checks on a calculator and by hand. the dont even have a freakin register. i dont understand how this place was still in business. we honestly felt terrible for all of the employees there. the absolute worst restaurant i have ever been to. aside from being mugged i cant imagine having a worst experience. of course after paying the bill i felt like i had been robbed. Pros: on the marina. friendly and sympathetic servers Cons: food, managment, service more

Please don't waste your money like I did 4/10/2006

I also wondered how this place stays in business. I guess it's by charging 20 bucks for watery frozen fish. The decor of this restaurant is very ""grandmother's trailor"" - tacky. Gold spray painted roses on the table - nuff said. The food is awful. We both ordered blackened fish (we were on the water, wanted fresh seafood). The seafood was not blackened. It was swimming in a pile of water and a lot of grease, garnished with lettuce and tomato hamburger style? Service was fine. Drinks were fine. But this place is ugly, overpriced, and the food sucks. If you are looking for traditional seafood by the beach, go anywhere else but here. Cons: Food, Price, Decor more

How do they stay in business? 2/5/2006

I agree with all the ppers. I took my parents there b/c we happened to be in the Fisherman's Village. It was so overpriced, the food was scant and not good, and the service was SLOOOOOW (and we didn't all get our food at the same time). When we complained, we got an indifferent apology and that was it. Pros: On the water-thats it Cons: food, service, price more

The worst restaurant I have ever been to! 1/14/2006

I ate here for 4th of July last year and it was the worst food and service I have ever experienced. It took us 45 minutes to get our drinks and about 1 and 1/2 hours to get our food. Once we got the food it was terrible and there wasn't much of it. It was also way overpriced. I will never go back again and warn anyone else not to go. Cons: expensive, bad food, bad service more

AVOID AT ALL COST 10/27/2005

Terrible, terrible food. Creepy service. Outrageous prices. Place was empty what should give us a clue, but my girlfriend and I thought it was because it was early. Cons: Bad, bad food more

DO NOT EAT HERE 6/4/2005

I can honestly say that the cheeseburger i ordered here was among the worst burgers i have ever had - anywhere. i think it was from the frozen foods section of the local supermarket. two disgusting patties piled on top of each other with some kind of cheese concoction barely melted over one of them. i literaly took one bite and never touched it again. The server was slow and clueless. If not for the outside table, view of the marina and the cold beer, i may have actually left without paying. Pros: nice view, no wait Cons: terrible food, overpriced more

Just 'cause its in the marina... 6/1/2005

...doesn't mean its good seafood. My wife and I went for out anniversary tonight thinking we'd try out that 'nice place we saw in the marina.' The pace was EMPTY our entire visit. We ordered a calamari appetizer which appeared to be freezer-fresh with circles so die-cut we thought they were onion rings. All the fish entrees did not list what seasonings were used so I asked the water how the 'broiled' fish was served. ""Well, its cooked in water."" Next our garlic bread arrived. Or rather, the burnt toast with garlic sprinkle arrived. Finally (after almost 40 minutes) our fish arrived. We were actually surprised that my wife's salmon was very good. My char-broiled Ahi was alright. Overall our meal with 2 glasses of wine ($3.50 each) our meal totaled $68!!!! Needless to say we will not be going back. Pros: parking validated, no reservation needed Cons: boring food, helpless waiter more

Go to El Torito instead 6/27/2004

Thats what we should have done... All four of us had a different piece of fish at dinner, but all came out cooked the same way--Bad. The portions were small, the fish was tough or undercooked, and the prices HIGH... If you are going to drop this kind of cash go to the Warehouse restaurant on Admiralty Way... If you want to eat seafood, go get a fish filet from Macdonalds, its better quality and definately a better value. But the waitress was a nice girl. Pros: lots of open seating Cons: , uncreative cuisine, poor quality more
