Best

Signing up for the Bootcamp was a gig deal for me, a big investment. After I did it, I got nervous, wondering if I did the right thing. But after the first day of class I knew I m...

Worst

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying ...

it's good! 5/21/2017

New to LA, not to acting. Found the Acting Corps online and signed up. Studied other places outside California, and it was ok, but classes here are so much better. I like the balance between scene work and technique. First exposure to Meisner, though I was aware of it before. Still learning, but I love what I've learned so far. more

Challenge Yourself 5/14/2017

The Acting Corps is a studio that will challenge even the most experienced actor. In the past two years, I have learned SO much while studying first in the Boot Camps, then the more advanced classes. It's a mixture of Meisner, classical and modified techniques with a little bit of this, a little bit of that, a little bit of Michael Chekhov. If you have the means, you should go here. I started at the bottom, but I know more advanced actors can start with further up the chain. They will change the way you approach your craft! more

Saint Louis in the house! 5/8/2017

So I just wrote an awesome review and my computer deleted it, so here is a shorter version. I have come to LA to act, and am getting it started at the Acting Corps. LA has some of the best classes, so I didn't wast time with classes in SL. Loving it. I did a ton of research about schools before the move and settled on the Acting Corps. NOT regretting my choice. I love the balance of scene work and Meisner. I was interested in Meisner before the move, but did not want to commit to a multi-year program, I don't have the patience for that, so the Acting Corps was the perfect answer. more

Testing the waters 5/1/2017

I found The Acting Corps online while searching for an acting school to take some classes and pursue acting as a potential career. I found their website to be unpretentious, informative and professional. I found even more then what I was looking for! Halfway into their 8 week Bootcamp, which was my first introduction to Meisner class I was hooked and seriously thinking about acting as a career. it was something I did want to do for sure. I finished their the Bootcamp, then took Bootcamp 2, and now I am an auditioning and sometimes working actor. The training you get at the Acting Corps will give you tools that you will constantly use in your future acting. They train you not only to be a good actor, but to be a disciplined, serious and resourceful human being. more

great school 4/24/2017

I'm new to LA, and the real acting world. Have a degree in theater arts, but am all to aware that there are many things I need to learn. Learning many of them at the acting corps now. I like it very much and look forward to each new day. I feel comfortable and challenged there. Safe environment where it's ok to fail and learn from the experience. more

I'm doing it 4/16/2017

The biggest regrets in life are the things you didn't do. And so I am now at The Acting Corps, learning five days a week to go after my dream of acting. Still early on, but it's so empowering not taking the safe and un-artistic corporate path. The teachers are knowledgeable and great. Every day I look forward to class. more

Sexy Mistress 4/10/2017

Stage actor here learning to tone it down and make it real. I love the stage, and it will be my first love, but getting into the word of film, and film acting is my sexy new mistress that I also very much enjoy. But she needs to be treated differently, more gently, but still likes to keep it in the moment. Learning these skills at the Acting Corps. Just talking about all this technique, I'm gonna go take a cold shower! more

A new begining 4/2/2017

Last year I was starting to feel like my training was finished. I was auditioning as much as possible and taking industry workshops but I wasn't booking as much as I'd like. I was stuck and I was not happy. The artist that is me was not being allowed to shin. Then I came upon The Acting Corps. I found it challenging and unlike the classes I had taken before. I feel stupid not because I though I knew everything just because I had studied one technique. I used to poo-poo Meisner and Michael Chekhov, thinking I know better. I was wrong. I'm out of my rut. Take risks! more

Good Vibrations 3/27/2017

I like the vibe of The Acting Corps. Good people imparting their knowledge in a constructive environment. Safe place to lean from actually doing and not just watching. I was on my feet in every class. The Acting Corps does not have days when you watch other epople do scenes, you work every day. Learn through doing. more

Great foundation and more 3/19/2017

I'm into comedy acting mostly, but a good foundation is very important in any acting. I have a history in clowning, which is not the same as acting. The Acting Corps has given me a foundation I did not have, and that is needed. Clown work is all character, which IS very important to acting, but even in comedy there needs to be the truth of the moment. Beyond foundation, The Acting Corps teaches so much more. I'm glad I found them. more

Learning is fundemental! 3/13/2017

Learning so much at the acting corps. Found them online and went in to chat about what they offer. It was a match and now I am going daily to classes. Truly as learning some thing new every day. Almost done with the first month so I thought I would review on Judy's Book. Meisner is a different way of looking at a scene and acting then I've studied before, I like it a lot more then "the method" or other less in the moment techniques. more

Starting my career 3/7/2017

Late to the game, happy to have The Acting Corps. Made my bones elsewhere, not doing what I really want to do. Don't want to waste time, so I picked The Acting Corps and their five-days-a-week Boot Camp. I believe in emerson. If I'm going to do something,I am going to jump in with both feet. And my body. Cannonball! more

Future Oscar Winner 2/27/2017

My dream is to win an Oscar one day. I am learning how at the Acting Corps. One day at a time. I'm learning how to not just speak the words, but to understand them and live in the moment, in the scene. Some day I am going to be the person they use in there ads saying they I studied there! It's hard work, but I am in it for the long hall. I get so motivated this time of year, so much good acting work out there. more

Commercial Actor 2/20/2017

I was a child actor in commercials; you have probably seen me. I am not making the move to film, and the Acting Corps is where I am going to learn how. I am finding out all about being in the moment under given circumstances. I am SO glad that it's not all about sense memory, which never did it for me. Yey Meisner! I recommend the Acting Corps. Five stars! more

It's the greatest! 2/13/2017

Loving my classes at The Acting Corps. Fairly new to town (less then a year). Still a lot to learn. Really like the vibe of the place. great students and teachers. Getting my LA experience off to a good start. more

Straight out of Woodstock 2/4/2017

Character actor here. Now at the Actor's Corps. Previously done some stuff on the east coast. Under 5s. My resume is all right. Came to LA to lean more, and that's what I am doing at Actor's Corps. Most of what I have done thus far has been a guy no so very different then me, now I am expanding my range so I can be a lead and not just the funny southern dumb shit. Different world out here, glad I got the folks at the Corps. Great people. Learning a lot. Amazing. more

Stage Actor 1/30/2017

I have learned at the Acting Corps that there is a big difference between stage and screen acting. I've learned to bring it was down and be way more specific. To really exist in the moment. So good. more

San Antiono to Hollywood 1/23/2017

I'm out for a few month from San Antonio and I am taking the Boot Camp at the Acting Corps. Los Angeles has some of the best classes in the world for acting, and the Acting Corps is one of them. I've just started, and I've already learned so much. I have taken various acting classes in San Antonio and this one blows them all out of the water! Everyday I look forward to class, even though I sometimes fail, it's all for the greater good of my acting career! more

Find your power! 1/16/2017

I found my power at The Acting Corps. I truly believe that, as actors, we are in the unique position, to show the way to society. But to do this, we must find out own truth so that we can show the truth of a scene, and it was in Meisner at The Acting Corps that I has this epiphany. I'm not saying every scene is going to better society, but I want to take my craft and go on to make my own projects like so many actors do after that make a bit of scratch. What I'm saying is that The Acting Corps made me a better actor, a truthful actor, and a better person. So, yeah, it's a good school. more

The proof is in the booking 1/8/2017

Pilot season is just around the corner and for the first time I have an agent and am ready to audition. I give credit to The Acting Corps. They got me into shape. Acting shape. I didn't know what I didn't know until I was there. I was at classes before and they might have given me a note here or there, but looking back I think they wanted me to be happy and didn't really get into the nitty-gritty of what I was not doing. I couldn't get an agent and I wasn't booking. So it's not just I feel like I'm better after The Acting Corps, the proof is in the booking. more
