Great Lunch Spot Also Offers the Best Meat in Charleston 6/3/2010

This locally-owned market offers the feel and service of an old-fashioned butcher shop combined with great prepared foods, sandwiches, salads and more. Try any of the paninis for lunch - they're reasonably priced and oh so delicious! The chef does a great job with a menu of prepared foods that changes monthly. As for the butcher part of the shop - this isn't your typical grocery store meat counter. Everything is all-natural and hand cut or ground to order, so you know exactly what you are getting. Ted is usually the one cutting the meat, and is always happy to talk about his products and answer questions. They even make their own pancetta, Italian sausage, smoked salmon and more! They recently opened a small outpost on the Isle of Palms at the marina, which is great news for beach goers and boaters. Don't miss their Friday $12 dinner specials, wine tastings and monthly craft beer dinners! Pros: Delicious foods, quality meats, locally owned, helpful staff Cons: Need more locations in Charleston! more

edibly oustanding 4/28/2010

Ted's is like a meat candy store. More varieties of bacon than ben & jerry have icecream. It's an amazing store. I could actually order a beer and drink it while I shopped. I had an amazing chicken, pancetta, and avocado sandwhich. Picked up some cheeses and Ted paired up some wine, which went well. I even bought some sea salt from japan. Cool store definately worth checking out. But be sure to go there hungry. Very cool reminds me of somewhere between Europe and New York. Pros: The food tastes great !! Cons: Ted is a Yankee's fan. more

Great local place 3/19/2009

Ted's is one of my favorite local places in Charleston. Want local oysters? Need some duck fat to make authentic french fries? Ted is your guy. Good cheese selection as well if you're looking for something like an aged Manchego. And the panini are really good - just know that you'll probably have to wait a little while for one during the lunch hour - I think they're still figuring out how to cope with the bigger crowds at lunch now that they've added more tables inside. . . Pros: Hard to find meats, fantastic panini Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

tasteless cookies 11/12/2007

This cookie business, now doing business as 3 Smart Cookies is a major disappointment. The cookies lack flavor, character and the presentation is unappealing. The open kitchen allows the customer to observe the disgustingly and unkemp dressed baker. Customer service, once a hallmaker of this new business, has become non-existent. This franchise of a very wonderful Savannah, Ga. cookie business should quietly disappear and no one would even miss it. Pros: quaint atmosphere Cons: tasteless cookies, and poor service more
