I took my third trip for a day of indulgence to Tall Grass recently. Each time I've gone, I've spent approximately 6 hours there, getting a package of some sort or customizing my own. This recent trip was very good, though others have been wonderful. Comments about why 'good' versus 'great': I was warmly welcomed the moment I stepped in the door. I went to change into a robe and went to the great room. It was a bit more crowded than I had seen ever, but I didn't give it too much thought. I went for a body wrap (wow! by the way) and it was excellent, but I do have to say that the treatment room was quite noisy (noises of walking, doors shutting, etc from above). Back to the great room for a moment before my massage. Interestingly, there are even more people in it. I go and get a (only moderately decent) massage. The therapist was very nice but her technique was not good (I get regular massages and have for years and thus think I'm a reasonably qualified judge). I talked w/ the manager after and she was very willing to listen to my feedback and made up for the experience entirely. Next I sat down for a (really yummy) lunch. The server was very nice and the room was momentarily a little less crowded Off to an outstanding facial and a really relaxing pedicure, but in between and after stopping in the great room and realizing there's basically NOWHERE to sit because there are so many people in there. One of the staffers had commented on how busy they were that day, but come on! It's a bit ridiculous to not be able to curl up w/ a magazine for a few minutes. I understand they're running a business, but it takes a lot away from the spa experience if you can't have some peace while you're there. Sorry, Tall Grass. You're my favorite spa, but I may not be back.
Pros: Beautiful facilities, gorgeous location, lots of options
Cons: Too crowded, sometimes noisy treatment rooms
