my favorite Turkish restaurant in Brooklyn! 12/9/2009

If you're looking for GREAT Turkish food in Brooklyn, for very reasonable prices... come to Taci. The food is extremely tasty. Service is quick. If you speak Turkish, you're also in luck... the whole staff is lingual. Come and enjoy some great kebabs and deserts. more

BEST TURKISH FOOD IN THE EAST COAST 5/9/2009

This little Turkish Restaurant, has to be one of the best (Top 5) in the Eastern Seaboard. You get more than what you pay for in this Restaurant. It is very reasonably priced and Food is Super. I would go there, again and again. Whenever I have a taste for Turkish Food, I travel to Tacis Beyti from the Jersey Shore, which is about 110 miles one way. The only bad thing is, you have to wait a long time to be seated, they are always full to the capacity. If you think about it, its a good thing for them that they are popular and people loves their food. Pros: Best Shish Kebab & Doner (Gyro) in New York Cons: Seating capacity - always full, have to wait for seating more

Great Food 10/19/2008

Tacis Beyti has amazing Turkish food for very nice prices. The hummus, kebabs and deserts were excellent, absolutely delicious. I see some reviews here stating that the service was poor, but I personally recieved great service. We were a group of about 15 people for a birthday dinner and we were treated well for sure. The bill was something like $200 including the tip for the entire group, which definitely a deal. We ended up doggy-bagging a bunch of the food too! The only thing I would complain about is the decor, it is bland at best. The lighting is too bright and there are no decorations of any type. But essentially, the lack of decor can be overlooked since the food is great. Pros: Amazing food, great prices Cons: Decor is very bland more

I drive to Brooklyn often just for this place!!! 2/23/2008

I have been eating regularly here for about 20 years now and it is still one of my favorite places to go. I am a big fan of dining out all over NYC and other parts of the country and do so quite often. While the decor is simple and the service is fast paced, the food is unbelievable and the prices are almost too low to be legal. I would not change a thing and keep going back often. :) Pros: Excellent, consistant food. Cheap prices. Cons: Sometimes long wait and noisy. more

Turkish homestyle food 8/22/2006

The food is amazing and the yogurt sauce is just increddible. Its true that ambiance and service are not top of the line, but if you can overlook those, you'll have a great meal. Desets are OK-- nothing spectacular. Pros: kebobs and fish dishes, BYOB Cons: slow service more

Lack of Service with an Attitude 8/11/2006

If you are looking for horrible service and a feeling of being taken advantage of, this is the place for you. While looking over the menu , (we were a party of 5) unordered appetizers started appearing on the table, after the 12th (they came very quickly) I asked the waitor what was going on and if we were expected to pay for these unordered item. I received a yes answer plus an icy stare when I asked him to take back the items we hadn't touched (including 2 orders of fried liver yuuch!!!!) Eventually 4 out 5 of our entrees arrived. I asked were the 5th dish was and he said ""in 5 minites"" 15 minutes later a blackened fish is put on the table and I say ""this is not what was ordered"" Another icy stare and then we were asked what we did we order. When the 5 of us were just about finished eating ,(we shared ) entree # 5 arrived. I just asked th waitor to doggy bag it. Food wise, appetizers: the shephard salad was good, the chummus was grainy and vinegary tasting, the fried eggplant and chopped eggplant were good, the pita bread was mediocre, the sigara was ok, the french fries ( which were put on the table and why in the world would I order French fries in a turkish restaurant) were salty and greasy.I really wanted to try the grapes leaves and and arthichoke , mushroom and tabuli but my appetitizers were chosen for me. Amongst the entrees, the mixed grill was very good. the iskendar kebab was ok,the lamb sautee OK,the diced shish kebab was good. I like turkish coffee and wanted some but by the time I was ready for it , I just wanted to leave. Bad service always ruins my appetite no matter how good the food may be. In this case I don't think the food is not good enough to overcome their insulting attitude Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Bad Service more

Worst restaurant and service ever!!! 6/17/2006

The food is awful. And the service is as bad as their service. My boyfriend and I went there for his birthday dinner after we read the recommendation on this site. But it was so disapponting. The server (blond guy with blue eyes, we don't even know his name because he came to the table only twice) is rude and incapable and he didn't want to help for anything at all. We had to call and ask him to take our order. Other people commented here must be aliens or something. We are Turkish and we really know what the good Turkish food is. Please try another Turkish restaurants in NYC.... Pros: Nothing Cons: Service, food, ambience. more

Such a great place 8/7/2003

I was living next to this Restaurant for years and went there way too many times. It is just great, one if not the best Turkish Restaurant in Brooklyn. Yes, it does not have as much ""class"" as Turkish Kitchen does, but the food is much much better and much cheaper. I've never had a bad meal there. It has all usual turkish dishes and more... Pros: Inexpensive more

Good Food... 1/2/2003

An entire meal could be made just from the starters (such as the grilled eggplant salad, artichokes in lemon juice and stuffed grape leaves ) and a crusty loaf of the oversize flatbread called pide. The sigara boregi, pan-fried cigar-shaped rolls of phyllo stuffed with feta cheese, are cooked until they're crisp and golden. Main courses include char-grilled whole brook trout, baby lamb sotee, and (of course) kebabs of lamb and chicken; Try the thick Turkish coffee with a dessert of Kunefe with cheese ! Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious, Fresh more
