The Best 4/5/2012

We loved using sweet apple to board our cat and attend his vet needs. Cat, Toby, has passed away now but we hope to use them when we adopt again-probably a dog. Our cat liked to go there and he never liked to go to the other vet we had used. They are very fair with pricing also! They seem to care a lot. And that matters to me a lot!! more

Re: sutton525 3/25/2011

We were quite surprised at Mr. Sutton's review. Yes, we have treated the Sutton's pets for many years and because of that relationship we bent over backwards and then some when they came in and Paddy was so ill. That morning we did the exam, x-rays, oxygen therapy, lasix injection and prescribed 2 medications. These charges came to $189.00. and when the owners returned in the afternoon after deciding on humane euthanasia, the hospital wrote off that ENTIRE amount. We charged only for the euthanasia and even discounted the private cremation. The owner's had originally elected to take Paddy home for burial, but later decided on private cremation which is quite expensive in comparison. On March 9 I spoke with Mr. Sutton about the $7.00 monthly service charge-not an interest rate. Our original client info sheet has a statement that explains the $7 charge if there is a balance over 30 days. This is to keep us from becoming a free bank. Most clients are able to pay more than $10 a month making the charges seem more reasonable. Without it what incentive would one have to pay it off? We encounter hardship cases on a daily basis and understand the owner's predicament, but we must also keep staff on hand and pay our overhead to keep the doors open. Addressing the aspirin issue: On Sept 9, 2010, the owner requested a refill of the pain medication used for Paddy's arthritis. They spoke with the veterinarian who recommended blood work to check kidney and liver values before refilling. The owner was worried about money so they were advised to try 80mg aspirin every 48-72 hours until they had money for the lab and medication. This is the approved dose of aspirin for cats from the North American Companion Animal Formulary, a pharmacy guide. Aspirin can be toxic in certain situations and doses and this was discussed with the owner. This was not the cause of the congestive heart failure. more

Love this vet!!!! 3/13/2011

One of the best vets I have ever been to. Very kind and compassionate staff. I had to put my 18 year old dog down and they were so very kind and caring. Even sent me a sympathy card afterwards. I have three other dogs and will never consider going anywhere but here. Awesome clinic!! more

Manager's response 8/20/2010

Response As the manager in the 8/09 review, I feel there needs to be some clarification. When I asked what was wrong with the groom, it was to be able to understand how the problem could be fixed. For example, if the coat was left too long, it could be shortened, but if too short, there is not much room to work with. I asked her to bring the pet back in, but she said she was trimming the ears herself. I remember our conversation very well. I was not here and did not see Bentley after the groom, but told Ms Couch that the staff said another client in the reception area remarked that she thought the dog was cute. I was not trying to defend the groom since I had not seen it myself. Ms Couch went on to say our location was too far for her to travel and she would be going elsewhere for everything. I even have that noted in the chart. It was at the end of our conversation that I offered to forward her medical recomds to another veterinarian since she had said she would need to find someone closer and grooming facilities require vaccine history. It was not meant to drive her away or upset her. There was road construction that day and she decided to take a detour home to avoid the delay. The groomer was an experienced groomer, but we did not hire her based on this experience. more

LOVE THEM! 4/30/2010

From the vets to the staff of Sweet Animal, everyone cares about your animal. I take all three of my cats here, and have for some time. They are always very caring and very thorough with me. If I call with a question, they call back. I even referred a friend to them who had a question about his cat, and they contacted him back immediately. I would never doubt placing my sick animal in their capable hands. While I realize the lady below had a bad experience, it is my opinion that their service is the best where it really matters - my pet's health. If you want your dog groomed take, it to a pet spa or somewhere like PetSmart, especially if you are going to be picky. My cats' health is all I care about, and in that respect, I consider them they best. I would recommend them to anyone. Pros: Very caring people more

Caring Vets, Quality Service 11/23/2009

Been taking our pet there for several years. The vets are very professional and caring and the staff up front are very friendly. The vets always take the time to explain all issues, the pros and cons, risks and benefits. Our decisions therefore are informed and in the best interest of our pet. We have also groomed our pet there with excellent results. Would highly recommend. Pros: Compassionate, professional more

I Will NOT Be Back!!! 8/7/2009

First of all, I took my dog to get groomed and it was horrible. I was NEVER told that the person grooming my dog was doing it as part of her interview process. The girl didn't do what I wanted. I told her what I wanted VERBALLY and then I wrote the directions down. Not only that, I included a photo. Luckily I was able to fix it when we got home and we got our money back. If that wasn't bad enough, the MANAGER called me about 10 minutes after I returned home. She basically argued with me. She thought my dog looked cute and none of the other owners were upset. Um....I'm not worried about their dogs. My dog was screwed up!!! She asked what exactly was the problem. I was like....well the vet had to finish clipping his nails because the groomer didn't finish. The groomer gapped up the hair on the top of my dog's head. She cut the length of his tail when I told and WROTE down for her not to. Oh...and she didn't cut his ears. His ears were hanging when they should've been trimmed so they would wrap around his face. I was actually cutting my dog's ears when the manager called. Oh and to end the conversation...the manager said-----her words ""Let us know if we need to send your records anywhere."" I guess that was her invitation for us to leave their business COMPLETELY. I had a problem with the grooming and we could go find a groomer somewhere else, but now I wouldn't dare go back to that vet. I have never been spoken to so rudely!!! My dog was the victim in all of this....and the MANAGER was acting like she was the victim. She was punishing me because I made a complaint about the grooming and I guess because I spoke up and complained about something, she doesn't want my business at all. I hope and pray that they don't hire that groomer. If they do, they're going to lose a lot of business. My recommendation would be to skip this vet if your looking for one. The sad thing is the veterinarians are GREAT, but the office staff and the way the clients are treated is pathetic. It would've been better if the manager had never even called me because all she did was criticize me for complaining. Stay away from Sweetapple!!! Pros: Great Veterinarians Cons: The Rude and Clueless Office Staff / Manager more
