Nice place for a lunch 5/24/2012

If you like sushi, and OK to eat in a crowded place - then go to Sushi Dan. Although you have to wait sometimes 15 min for your sushi.. Sushi is really good and fresh and waitresses are very friendly! more

Best food in town Food is amazing. Every time I come here, I feel like I never want to leave. Very chic atmosphere with a relaxing mood. The service is great and the staff really does a terrific job at taking care of you. The appetizers are delicious. Theres plenty of places to park: theres a parking lot across the street and a parkin garage up the street within walking distance. Most of the time I find myself looking at my watch waiting for the food to come, but here I was so entertained with the fun atmosphere that I was pleasantly surprised when my food arrived more

Sushi, the American Way 5/9/2010

Sushi Dan has incredibly large portions at an affordable price. They have a more Americanized flair and they use an unnecessary amount of eel sauce, but it's good food. They offer a good selection of wines and martinis at special lunch rates, and a menu with a large selection of sushi, rolls and lunch/dinner plates. more

Great, fun Sushi place! 3/17/2010

I've been going to Sushi Dan on Ventura for years, and love it. The sushi is good, fun, presented well, and tasty. They have LOTS of choices, including an amazing Baked Salmon Role, 911 Role, Sunset Role...and the Blue Crab Handroll (Get that with Soy paper!) Be sure to remember that the service is pretty bad, so don't go there if you plan to rush...the waitresses sometimes forget to put in your order! Pros: Good food, fun place Cons: Bad service more

I work for Disney and we love having lunch meetings at Sushi Dan!!!!!!!!! The LAS VEGAS ROLL is my favorite dish and I wish I could eat it every day. The staff is always polite and knows us by name. I am a sushi snob and I can confidently say that Sushi Dan is the best sushi value in Los Angeles. The sushi is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, the service is exceptional, and the vibe is fun and energetic. It is not your authentic Japanese environment with strict sushi chefs and quiet, private tables. It is a fun, loud, party atmosphere with sushi chefs that appreciate a little (or a lot) sake, beer or soju. more

Super Sushi 12/1/2007

This is one of the best Sushi joints i have ever eaten at and i have eaten sushi all over the country. The ambiance isnt the best but the food more than makes up for it. Dont get me wrong its not the like the atmosphere is horrible, its just merely adequte and has a fun vibe. In Los Angeles there are a ton of Sushi spots many of them with swanky decor and swanky prices. Sushi Dan simply serves up fresh delicious fish for very affordable prices. The lunch specials are an excellent value. It can get crowded on weekend nights so be prepared for that. The nigiri sushi and sashimi are large chunks of mouth watering fish. The rolls are fun inventive and plentiful. I highly recommend this place. I moved further away and miss it terribly. I still trek across town occasionally just for a delightful dining experience. Believe the good reviews....do yourself a favor and hop on in. Pros: Fish!! more

I love Sushi Dan. I love that they have so many choices of rolls and sashimi plates. I am obsessed with their tuna tartare. It is a mound of spicy tuna, masago and avocado. For $12 you can't beat that! I also love their baked green mussels, the monkey fire cracker, the albacore with crispy red onions...all to die for! Their prices are totally reasonable. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but so worth it! Pros: Yummy food for a reasonable price. Rockin environment. Cons: Parking. Small tables. Seated super close to fellow diners. more

Sushi Dan is my number one sushi spot. It's where my girlfriend first introed me to sushi (I thought I didnt like fish!) and we go back almost every week. Great price and AMAZING sushi. Be sure to try the Hungry roll and the Crazy Danny. My girlfriend loves the Hot Night. Dont forget some Saki, Pros: Great sushi, great price Cons: Parking more
