There are so many options here. The sushi is always fresh and the portions are huge. I recomend this place to everyone that eats. Be wary, though, they are open until midnight on weekends but stop serving at 11:30. Pros: Portions, Price, Variety more

Awesome! 3/31/2005

I have never seen so much fresh food! Sushi Dan has a great selection of high quality sushi. I love their Rockin' Sushi menu! I work in Los Angeles and the other day I drove by their New Location in the Virgin Mega Center on Sunset and Cresent Hights! O BOY! More Sushi Dans!! Open More and More and More! This place is amazing. more

The Very Best!! 3/12/2005

I have been to many sushi places in town, but always go back to my favorite, Sushi Dan! I live at Wilshire & LaBrea so sometimes I don't want to make the drive at dinnertime over to Studio City, but now they are opening a new location on Sunset upstairs by Virgin Megastore and Crunch! The Best Sushi in Los Angeles 1/13/2005

In the 6 years I've lived here I've tried a lot of sushi. Nothing is comparable to Sushi Dan. Even though I've moved out of the area to the Venice area, when I want sushi I still make the drive over the hill for this place. I recommend ordering from the Rockin' Sushi rolls, those are the specialties. If you like spicy try the 911 roll or the Crazy Danny Roll. Other favorites: Las Vegas Roll and Danny Roll. The Danny Roll is a perfect thing to order for a person who is new to sushi. I have recommended this place to countless people and have never had any complaints. Sushi Dan Lives Up To Its Hype 11/25/2004

Read about this place in Citysearch and decided to give it a try for dinner last week. Pleasantly surprised at how fresh the sashimi was (the salmon seemed to melt in my mouth!), and how reasonably priced the sushi came out to. The eel was ok, though I've had better, but must-tries are the salmon, and the fried rolls. Only spent $55 (pre-tip) for 4 orders of sushi/sashimi, drinks, and an order of the tempura ice cream. Pros: Reasonably Priced, Easy Parking (Lot), No Waiting more

Dan, Dan, all Hail the Sushi Man! 9/2/2004

Sushi Dan's is by far my favorite Sushi restaurant in LA! A gem in a little strip mall, in Studio City, I am ever so lucky my neighbor introduced me to this restaurant. The fish is extremely fresh, the chefs make the presentation pleasing, and are very generous with the servings (a little extra on top) here and there. The white tuna melts in my mouth, and the yammy crunchy is always a favorite. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, and did I mention the price, what a way to enjoy great sushi without breaking my pocket book. A close match on the other side of the hill is Murakami in Weho, but Dan's is always #1 in my heart!!!!!!! Pros: fresh fish, great chefs, price is right more

Fish that will blow your mind 2/11/2004

Sushi Dan provides fresh, delicious sushi for those on a budget. Their rolls are inventive and larger than average, and the sashimi is perfect. Deep fried rolls are an interesting twist, but ultimately end up cluttering the flavor of the fish. Salads are large enough for a meal, and presentation is right on par. Sushi Dan is TERRIFIC! I've only been here 3 times, but each time was satisfying. The lunch special is a good value because you get 5 sushi and 8 specialty rolls for 10.95. Plus you get miso soup to drain it all down. The sushi pieces are thick! I always get full eating here! I love salmon sushi. The Yummy Crunchys are good. So are the Philadelphia Rolls. Without a doubt the best Sushi you will ever eat... Once you eat at Danny's you will never eat Sushi anywhere else. Danny is not only a master Sushi chef, but he also makes you feel right at home. I really enjoy this casual-hip sushi restaurant. There's nothing intimidating about it. It's fairly inexpensive ($12 plates) and open convient hours (until 12am Mon-Sat). The waitstaff is friendly. I've only had the tempura and the sushi platter, but both were very good! I've been three times and am always satisfied. I would definitely recommend it for a good casual sushi dining experience.
