Worst cust. service and what I feel is the most unethical company I have ever dealt with. The company I hired to protect my family has made me feel violated. I had a contract to pay $560 to install the system at my own expense. I was then a loyal customer for SIX years. When I was recently transferred out of state, my wife promptly called to cancel. They said that it had just auto renewed that month(we received no confirmation of this now did we request it) and they would ruin our credit if we did not pay a full additional year from this contact. My wife and I both called Kevin Allen per request of the BBB and he was of no help - in fact he was very argumentative and rude. He then said he had zero authority to not charge us for the service we are no longer using. SDS owners, Kevin's tone and how he represented your company is why I am making it my point to warn as many potential and existing customers as possilbe. What can I say - if this is how they treat a loyal SIX YEAR customer, I think consumers should look elsewhere for a sense of security. Just imagine if they did this to a loyal customer who lost their job - read the other message boards - they have. more

we recently changed phone providers. that night we attempted to set the alarm and discovered an error on the keypad. we called the after hours support. we got a call back within 5 minutes. the tech was able to clear the error code, send a test signal to ensure that the alarm was communicating. we were able to set the alarm right away. thank you sds! more

great service 3/3/2011

we have had sds as our security provider for 5 years now. we know that we will receive a call within seconds if we set off the alarm. we do not have to worry when going out of town. we can also change our emergency contact information online and include dates of our return so that the call list will return to the local numbers. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE! more

This is absolutely positively the most dishonest and deceptive security company in the Middle TN area. My wife and I signed up for a 3 year commitment and moved out of state 18 months afterwards. We called to cancel the monitoring service and were told that we had to honor the 36 month agreement to cover the expense of the system that was installed. Fine, no problem. We paid on the monitoring for another 18 months at $30/mo. When we finally get paid up, we call to cancel the service and were told that the service automatically renewed for another 12 months and if we wanted to cancel, they had to remove the equipment from the home...the same equipment we just finished paying for per the agreement. CHECK ONLINE BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING. There are over a dozen other stories online just like mine. When you call to their offices, Dwayne or Kevin are more than happy to remind you that even though ""you are a great customer"", they obviously don't respect you enough because ""you're not an accountable person."" Dwayne will also remind you that ""the best solution is for you to just pay the full year now so you can get out of this."" There's a class action lawsuit in the works. Again. BE FOREWARNED. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SDS UNLESS YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR INTELLIGENCE INSULTED BY THE OWNER AND HIS STAFF. more

renewal 8/30/2010

I am thankful that SDS did not terminate my service at the end of the intial term. we had a break-in last week and the alarm went off as it should. the police arrived immediately and the ""wanna be robbers"" escaped with nothing! i read what I sign and am glad that i do not have to remember to renew important things such as home security! (fyi===most companies have a 2-3 year renewal period!) more

great installation 8/3/2010

we recently had a system installed in our business. the technician was very thorough and effecient. after the installation he gave me instruction on using the system and was very patient with my questions. we have been very pleased to know that our business is protected while we are away. Pros: a system that works great and NO clean up required! more

saved our lives 6/3/2010

We had a burglar attempt to break in our home thru our back door-the alarm sounded immediately and the police were dispatched and at our house within minutes. the burgular left of course, but has since been arrested. THANK YOU SDS for looking out for our home and family! Pros: police were at our house within minutes more

HORRIBLE Company 5/17/2010

Please do not go with this company you will regret it. Management is horrible. Even the owner of the company is horrible. They get you to sign contract then stick you. There is no way to cancel your contract. Even if you send them a letter in plenty of time they will say they never got it. If you have them already hire a lawyer to cancel your contract. Pros: NOTHING! Cons: EVERYTHING! more

May want to look elsewhere 4/2/2010

We have had SDS in Brentwood for 3 years now. We are paying 26.99 for monthly monitoring. I called Kevin (the manager) since my contract was running out. I had hoped he would lower the rate to 10-12 dollars per month. Kevin said the best he can do is 19.99 per month with another 3 year agreement. I told him to cancel my service. He informed me that I would of had to contact them 30 days before my contract expired to cancel them. Since I did not I am locked into another full year at 26.99 with a possible 5% rate increase. I was very unhappy of their auto renewal business practice and expressed I would make other people aware of what they do. He said that is a 2 way street. I can tell people not to use Central Chemdry to clean their carpet. I have never cleaned Kevins carpet and probably never will. I cant believe the arrogance of the man. Trashing my business name for revenge proposes. I am sending a letter today canceling my contract. It wont take affect until a year from now but I don't want to take a chance of it AUTO RENEWING again. Pros: Will call you back Cons: deceptive business practice. more

JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT AFTER DOING A LOT OF RESEARCH AND SHOPPING, i FOUND A LOCAL COMPANY OUT OF BRENTWOOD WITH A GOOD TRACK RECORD AND EXCELLENT PRICING. SEVERAL OF MY FRIENDS HAVE THEIR SERVICE AND HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY ALSO. Pros: great price for the service more
