**** MUST READ POST AND WARNING ABOUT SERVICE DEPT ***\r
Last Saturday I purchased a 2015 GTI Autobahn. At the time, I also purchase two simple accessories - Mud Flaps and rear bumper plate protector. ""Auto"" who was my sales agent, and great to work (Matt was also fantastic at the dealership) with called on Monday and said my parts were in and to schedule a service appointment and they would install the parts while I waited. On Wednesday I called and spoke to a gentleman in the service department; he was polite, said I could wait for an hour and they'd install the simple parts and to be there at 8:00 am. All was well.... then it happened.\r

All of us who have owned an Audi or VW (I've now owned three GTI's, a Jetta TDI and Audi A8) and used Dave Strong cringe with the idea of going into their service department. Sadly, once an animal gets abused by it's owner enough, it knows what to expect. Well, my ""expectations"" were met perfectly. I walked into the service desk at 8:07 am and was welcomed - if you can call it that - by Wyatt. He immediately acted put out that I was even there; I'm not making this stuff up. I said I had scheduled an appointment at 8:00 am, and he had said I could have the parts put on while I waited and it would take about an hour. He said to the effect, that's not true and it's an hour once the car is started and ""we have a butt load of people in front of you"". And this point my blood was beginning to boil but I paused and said, well, the online reviews are still true and Dave Strong service is still terrible. Wyatt angrily said, ""not the reviews I've read"". I said never mind, I'm out of here.\r

At that point Robert Shinall, the assistant service manager, came to my rescue and calmly said, ""Pat Brady, yes I scheduled the appointment"". Wyatt and I were finished! I stepped over to Robert and he was exactly what you'd hope for; curious, helpful and integrity in helping to defuse the situation. He said not to worry and he'd take care of everything. I believe him. \r

All this happened in the past 30 minutes as I write this review so my memory is fresh. To the owners of VW's, the owners of Dave Strong and the managers of Dave Strong - Wyatt is bad Karma and there is NO WAY I am the first to experience this. Do something about it! As Bill Marriott Sr. famously said, ""Hire Friendly, Train Technical"". You guys missed the boat on this guy. Robert on the other hand, you got it right. Thanks Robert, I appreciate you helping me today and I will always ask for you. I will refuse to work with Wyatt in the future and if I must, I will take my business elsewhere.
