Strong Volkswagen has an excellent staff and purchasing process. I never felt pressured or pushed into anything and Eric Gustavson was friendly, responsive and courteous of my time and needs. I would highly recommend him and the dealership to anyone. more

We have always had a very positive experience when dealing with Strong VW. And I believe that we are well-qualified to make that assertion as this is the third VW my family has purchased from Strong's in just the past year. \r \r And I have to say that William ""Andy"" Carr has always been forthright, honest, and helpful with his communications, and I really do appreciate that. I can tell you that we weren't treated with that kind of respect when we first tried to buy at the other VW dealership at the south end of the (SLC) valley. \r \r I know that we could buy anywhere, especially since we live in WA state, but we get the best treatment and deals when we come back to Strong VW. \r \r Without reservation I can say ""Have no fear, buy right here."" more

I had been procrastinating getting my car in for the regular 30K service. I called to check availability and was told to come anytime. I dropped it off that day, was met at my car as I pulled in, offered a shuttle service (which I didn't need) and was back out within minutes. They called me in about an hour stating it was done, Jeff Davenport gave me a thorough overview of my car. Appreciate the quick and wonderful service, that barely disrupted my busy day. Thanks! more

I have read over some of the reviews in here and I am surprised by a few but wholeheartedly agree with others.\r \r We have been purchasing or leasing Volkswagens from Strong VW since 1998. In total we have had 3 Touaregs, 4 Beetles, 1 Jetta Wagon and a Tiguan over the past 16 years. We exclusively drive VWs and Strong's is our dealership of choice. For the most part, Matt and Eric have been our sales associates and have always done well by us; however, the reason we continue to buy at Strong's is because of their service department.\r \r Wyatt ""Chip"" Bryson has been our service adviser for the past 16 years. We constantly tell him we consider him ""family"" because of the way he cares for us and our cars. We trust Chip and know when we leave our car with him he will follow through and get it serviced properly. Chip has even called out of state service departments on our behalf (while we were traveling) or on behalf of our daughter who goes to school out of state just to introduce us to various service department managers with a request to watch over our family while we are in their care.\r \r I'm sure the entire staff at Strong's works hard to keep happy, satisfied customers but when we need to get service, we call Chip and if we seek to purchase or lease, we call Matt and Eric. They have always been great to us and we can highly recommend this dealership. \r \r RKF more

**** MUST READ POST AND WARNING ABOUT SERVICE DEPT ***\r Last Saturday I purchased a 2015 GTI Autobahn. At the time, I also purchase two simple accessories - Mud Flaps and rear bumper plate protector. ""Auto"" who was my sales agent, and great to work (Matt was also fantastic at the dealership) with called on Monday and said my parts were in and to schedule a service appointment and they would install the parts while I waited. On Wednesday I called and spoke to a gentleman in the service department; he was polite, said I could wait for an hour and they'd install the simple parts and to be there at 8:00 am. All was well.... then it happened.\r \r All of us who have owned an Audi or VW (I've now owned three GTI's, a Jetta TDI and Audi A8) and used Dave Strong cringe with the idea of going into their service department. Sadly, once an animal gets abused by it's owner enough, it knows what to expect. Well, my ""expectations"" were met perfectly. I walked into the service desk at 8:07 am and was welcomed - if you can call it that - by Wyatt. He immediately acted put out that I was even there; I'm not making this stuff up. I said I had scheduled an appointment at 8:00 am, and he had said I could have the parts put on while I waited and it would take about an hour. He said to the effect, that's not true and it's an hour once the car is started and ""we have a butt load of people in front of you"". And this point my blood was beginning to boil but I paused and said, well, the online reviews are still true and Dave Strong service is still terrible. Wyatt angrily said, ""not the reviews I've read"". I said never mind, I'm out of here.\r \r At that point Robert Shinall, the assistant service manager, came to my rescue and calmly said, ""Pat Brady, yes I scheduled the appointment"". Wyatt and I were finished! I stepped over to Robert and he was exactly what you'd hope for; curious, helpful and integrity in helping to defuse the situation. He said not to worry and he'd take care of everything. I believe him. \r \r All this happened in the past 30 minutes as I write this review so my memory is fresh. To the owners of VW's, the owners of Dave Strong and the managers of Dave Strong - Wyatt is bad Karma and there is NO WAY I am the first to experience this. Do something about it! As Bill Marriott Sr. famously said, ""Hire Friendly, Train Technical"". You guys missed the boat on this guy. Robert on the other hand, you got it right. Thanks Robert, I appreciate you helping me today and I will always ask for you. I will refuse to work with Wyatt in the future and if I must, I will take my business elsewhere. more

Just bought my 3rd Passat from Matt Hansen at Strong VW. If you want a salesperson that is knowledgeable and not pushy, then go see Matt. He had 3 customers waiting to see him while I was there. I knew he was busy but he gave me his full attention. I never felt rushed or pushed. He gave me an awesome deal on my car always goes above and beyond. The whole transaction was completely painless. I was in and out with my new car in record time. I have always had good luck with my VW's. I was actually thinking about getting a Subaru Legacy. I test drove a couple of them and can honestly say I''m very happy with my decision that I went with the Passat SE instead. This is my first review that I have ever written. I am doing so because I whole heartedly believe Matt is a good guy and I have always been treated well by Strong VW. more

Every since I started taking my Passat Wagon to Strong VW in 2002 I have had the best experiences ever from a dealer service department. That is because of Chip Bryson. He is always genuine, understanding and knowledgeable. He knows me and my vehicles. A few years ago I traded my Passat for a Toureg and won't take it anywhere else because Chip takes good care of my baby! more

Robert Shinall took great care of me when I bought my Passat in for its 100,000 mile service. .He explained everything in detail and is very personable .I have been a customer for 6yrs and wouldn't take my Passat anywhere else.Strong VW strives for excellence and attains it!\r Thank you so much,Robert, for all your help over the years and the service departments team including Brian! As of Saturday August 2nd I am now an Audi owner but still with Strong! I have always been the type of person that takes my car to my local dealership when service is needed. No matter the type of car I own. I've now owned my VW Jetta for one year and love it! In all honesty, the service I receive at Strong VW in SLC is one of the main reasons I've had zero desire to go with any other type of car. No matter if I'm going in for a basic check up, or oil change - I always receive top notch service. In my past few visits I've had the pleasure to work with Kimberly Greene. Kimberly is always welcoming, very informative, and ensures to keep me informed on progress on my service. This may seem like a small deal - but its surprising how many service center don't do this. Kudos to you Kimberly! more

I recently visited Strong VW to have my 2010 Beetle checked over before a long road trip. Brian Edwards was my service manager and he did a great job. He first tried the most economical solution to the oil leak they discovered, and when that didn't solve the problem he quickly and efficiently had the leak repaired. He really impressed me when he contacted the extended warranty company for me and got the repair pre-approved so that I won't have to hassle with waiting for approval and reimbursement. I was really pleased with the professionalism, friendliness and efficiency of Brian and of the Strong VW team. Laura who drives the shuttle also went above and beyond to make my visit easy and to keep my schedule flowing smoothly while my car was being repaired. Excellent job all around! more

Plus, they throw in all sorts of amenities to make your wait time more pleasant as well as offer a free shuttle service if you can't afford the wait. This dealership honestly goes above and beyond in terms of service and attention to detail even after the sale. I sort of have a car buying addiction and as such have sampled many of the areas dealerships from Garff to Dahle to Miller and have actually bought new cars from them all. Recently I decided my drug of choice would be the new Passat TDI and began the hunt for exactly the color and options I wanted. Turned out Strong had it and so I loaded the kids and made the trek to SLC. Long story short, I met my new dealer for life. Andy Carr (I know, ironic right...probably like a porn alias) was the salesman who had the car ready and waiting for me and followed up with honest answers to my questions even if the answer was ""I don't know but I can find out"". Don Brower (obviously hasn't caught on to the benefits of a spectacular pseudonym yet!) was the sales manager who actually allowed me to take my new car to lunch and even offered to pay for said lunch while I decided if I wanted to buy. They both even spent an hour with me trying to figure out how to set the different remote key to driver settings without complaint! There was no pressure at all and they worked me out an awesome deal on the drug err... car of my dreams. That alone would be impressive but then Diane followed up with great customer service even after the sale when I decided to change my loan rate and she had to redo all those fun contracts for me. Again nary a grumble, they must have nitrous flowing thru the AC. Lastly when I literally forgot to get my free iPad mini for like a month after the sale and they could have easily been Apple Nazis and said, ""no mini for you"" they instead honored their word, which by the way I had no written proof for, and still gave it to me. In this day, age and economy, who still does that?! They do and because of that I will go nowhere else and would encourage you to as well. I was so inspired I even learned how to post a review to honor them as you can now see for yourself. It's my first ever review of any kind , may be my only one ever but they are spectacular and I swear I am not related to any of them and will not personally profit from this review at all . more

The Best 11/15/2011

The main reason I buy VW's is because I know Strong VW is going to service them. In almost 10 years, i've never had a bad experience there. I bought 4 cars from them already, 2 brand new and 2 pre certified and they are great from sales to service. Every time i have a concern, Chip Bryson on service has it fixed. Best deal and best Service! 8/15/2011

After getting the good old run-around at a couple of the "other" VW stores/dealerships in the area (not to mention names), I emailed in to Strong's VW and got connected up with Eric, who's the best sales guy I've ever met! He had a Touareg himself, and so he understood exactly what I was looking for and didn't try and "push" me into the wrong rig. He gets my thumbs-up! best dealership ever!!!!!! 8/7/2011

We have had alot of painful experiences when it comes to buying a car. So when we settled on getting a VW we called Strong VW. We delt with Larry Cutolo and he was amazing!!!!!! When we got to Strong the car we wanted was pulled out front and ready to go. When it came to paper work Larry made everything suit our needs. He even called the next day to make sure we still loved it. i highly recomend Larry to anyone who goes to strong. more
