Stonehaven Remodeling

We asked sales manager Stacy to renovate our 4 yr.old master bath shower to a roll-in , wheelchair accessible shower. Explained we have multiple health issues, (spinal fusions, knee surgeries, CA of lungs/COPD, that may require us to need such a shower. 3months into this project. Apparently Stacy did not communicate to his workers that it was to be a roll-in shower. They put in a WEDI shower tray with a 2 inch lip, and prepared to tile this in! When my husband asked how the wheelchair could get in, the tile mason said, "guess you can lift the front of the chair, and lift it in!". Our original shower would not have been this high. That's when they added an unsightly ramp with trip hazard points on 3 edges, as nothing was flush to the surrounding flooring. THe ramp is twice as steep as the ADA recommended 1:12 ratio. I tried, and could not push my hubby up the bumpy, steep ramp. Owner Chris Chambers refuses to make it right. Needs tearing out, and a total redo. He's keeping our 3100$ down payment. We will fight later in court, and are preparing an official BBB complaint. ( They told us it was too serious a complaint to just leave a review). Chris refuses to provide us with any of the references or pictures of similar baths that the salesman promised us. Stacy told us thy had done "thousands". I doubt they've done one of this nature. Now we've no choice but to find a trust-worthy pro, tear it out, and start over. more

I could not have been happier with the work Stonehaven Remodeling did for me. I had 6 new windows and wainscoting installed across a hall and 2 rooms and they did an exceptional job. It was a great upgrade for exceptional value. Workers were professional, worked extremely clean and I could not be happier with their work. I hired Stonehaven to do a hidden playroom underneath my steps. They did an amazing job. Very professional. This is no ordinary playroom. Hardwood floors, crown molding, hidden doors, windows, the works! People big and small love this room. I highly recommend and would use them again for sure. more

THE ONLY CONTRACTOR I WILL USE! I came to Stonehaven because I have several rental homes in the area and had nothing but problems with the contractors I was hiring. A family member referred me to Chris at Stonehaven Remodeling Services, as they had done a kitchen remodel for them and were very happy with their work. I have been using them now for several years for the rentals as well as my personal home. I can say with confidence that they are top rated and take pride in the work that they do. I hired Stonehaven Remodeling Services to remodel my home which was a nightmare from start to finish. Unsupervised employees sanded an old floor in my kitchen covering my entire house and all its contents with POISONOUS ASBESTOS dust.I asked Mr. Chris Chambers, owner, what the results of an Environmental Testing were and he stated to me, " It showed just a trace of asbestos". Four months later while examining paperwork,I became aware that Mr. Chambers had failed to provide me a copy of the report from the ETS about the asbestos. I contacted the Inspector and he e-mailed me a copy of the report, TO MY HORROR, the report stated the flooring sample showed much more than "A TRACE", but in fact the asbestos was "ABOVE Federal EPA Recommended Limits", recommending the homeowner be notified of “Possible Health Risk". Mr. Chambers had LIED to me about the findings,willfully withheld important information, and in doing so, exposed me,my family,my grand babies! to asbestos dust and the deadly risks associated with exposure.His work ethics,negligence,and morality are inexcusable.Over 20 items broken in my home. Stonehaven not only failed to meet the deadline set and agreed upon in the contract, but went over that date by 6 full days. I was forced to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau when Mr. Chambers continuously refused to give me sales receipts for materials bought during the remodel. It took four months of back and forth thru the BBB and me finally having to hire an attorney for Stonehaven to give me the receipt I needed to enforce the 50 year warranty on my hardwood floors. Mr. Chambers refusal to provide we with a simple receipt for warranty on the $13,000 plus remodel, his negligence and complete failure to safely deal with the toxic asbestos in my home,the direct lie and willful withholding of important information and possible health risks to me and my grandchildren, and damages, are reasons I feel I must write this review.
