We had lunch on the sidewalk at Stickers Asian Cafe on Friday, August 29, 2008, and it was great. Pros: Great Asian food, nice location, beautiful and eclectic decor.

Smelly 2/23/2011

What I ordered: Hot Spicy and Sour soup with pork dumplings. Veggie Pot Stickers. Some kind of Indian pita bread with a yogurt cucumber dip. Jasmine tea. My fiance ordered: Yakisoba noodles with Chicken. Green tea. Food: My ""cup"" of soup was huge, which I thought was nice. You can choose how many dumplings you want in the soup and what kind of dumpling (veggie, pork or chicken). The soup tasted alright but not very good - the dumplings were satisfying and had good flavor. The Indian pitas were more like huge crackers. I didn't really like them - nor did I like the dip. My fiance said the Yakisoba and Chicken was just ""okay"". Nothing special and the chicken was almost cold in temperature. The tea was good. Bathroom!: First of all, it smelled horrible in the bathroom. To make matters worse, the toilet paper was almost empty and the paper towels were missing. I had no way to dry my hands after washing. Bottom line: We won't be going back. It's too bad though because it's a cute little inexpensive place. I think we'll continue to try other restaurants in Sellwood. more

dinner for 3 under $30 10/17/2008

for 3 of us we ordered appetizer and 3 dishes for under $30! I recommend the lamb roti. There are other dishes I will try next. This is a good budget dinner/ lunch. Each taste is different so always venture out for your taste buds. Pros: affordable , tasty, nice staff, decor Cons: small space, not good for big groups or more than 4 people more

Not the same anymore. 10/12/2008

We live nearby and have been coming to Stickers since they opened. The two biggest food draws for us has always been the potstickers and the Pad Thai. We have noticed however in the past year or two that both of these have changed. The sauce they use for the Pad Thai has been toned down, and they changed the noodles from a very long thin round noodle to a thicker short flat noodle. The problem is it gives the dish a starchy mouthfeel. As someone else pointed out, the potsticker wrappers also seem to be thicker, more doughy than they used to be and perhaps a little less of the filling is used. Neither change has been for the better. Pros: No longer crowded... Cons: Change is not always good. more

Great sidewalk cafe, with wonderful food, in a sweet little business district. 9/3/2008

Love It! 12/17/2007

I love this place - their menu includes dishes from all over asia - indian lamb roti, curries, stir fries, noodle dishes, rice dishes, tons of stuff! Super cute atmosphere, and decent prices. Pros: Variety, Price, Ambience Cons: Parking, but it's Sellwood more

Did not like it, would avoid it moving forward. 9/10/2007

I wandered in here after arriving too late as a single for sushi around the corner. I love potstickers in general, but was woefully disappointed with Stickers. The potstickers, fried ones no less, were mushy, doughy, and devoid of identifiable flavor. The ""street noodles"" were equally underwhelming. I have had far better street noodles in Chinatowns for a buck or two, not $9. There is much better, cheaper Asian food in town. Stay away for now, unless they make some real changes in the food. Pros: Nice location. Cons: Food. more

Pretty good stuff and cheap prices 5/12/2007

I boiled stickers were not as good as the fried ones. My noodles and my dates noodle dish were spicy and tasty. Not overdone and mushy like many cheap asian places. The sauce had just the right amount of hot stuff and was not overpowered by soy. more

This place is awesome! 4/24/2007

A friend of mine and I found this small, quaint restaurant on Citysearch and decided to see what it was al about. We were intrigued by the idea of the food style being 'Asian' rather than one specific style. The sauces rule here. In addition to the great service the Korean Beef and Shrimp were fantastic. Pros: Great food, Service, Menu Cons: A bit small more

rude waitress 7/30/2006

My friend and I walked up to Stickers from my house in Eastmoreland to grab a drink. We sat outside and inquired about the happy hour. The waitress told us they had not served HH in a ""long time"". I know this is not true as we were there for dinner a month ago and they were still offering it. Regardless, we each ordered a drink (that we had to point out to her on the menu....gin & tonic and vodka cranberry) and the Vietnamese rolls. The food and drinks were fine but she brought our check before we were 1/2 way done with our food and drinks. THEN, before I had finished my drink she walked up to us and said in these exact words ""YOU PAY CHECK NOW"". I asked her if I could please finish my drink first and she said ok, but wasn't pleased. I have never felt so rushed at a restaurant....and it is not like the inside was packed. There are only 2 tables outside so not sure if some one was waiting on us, but that shouldn't have mattered! We both left there feeling very unappreciated as customers. I was surprised by this as we eat there often and have always had pleasant service. I will be searching out new places to dine after this kind of treatment! Pros: reasonable prices, great food Cons: SERVICE more

Finally the potstickers I learned to love in China 6/12/2006

No wonder Stickers won Best Potsticker in Portland when it opened. I lived in northern China and have not been able to find these delicate, crisped on one side, flavorful morsels stateside---served on the streets of China and in the Chinese home on just about every Chinese occasions. Thank you ! Pros: authentic street food / fun space Cons: not good for groups over 6 more

Cesspool of mediocrity 6/7/2006

This place is a travesty to potsticker craftsman everywhere. A true potsticker craftsmen knows that the perfect potsticker is judged based on the least amount of dough needed, the most amount of filling possible, and the consistency and resiliency of the whole thing. Of secondary importance is the decorative ribboning to seal the edges. Stickers uses too much dough, not enough meat, and the consistency is vaguely jellyfish. They don't bother with the aesthetic appeal of the ribboning and merely flatten the edges. Back to home that would be okay for the first dumpling you'd ever made, so when you were 4, but for a place that names itself after it's dumplings and then proceeds to make them so inadequately, it's a true farce. Come here for a laugh and then leave for a better place b/c this place is a crying shame. Service was still pretty good though, but you don't come for the service, you come for the food. Pros: service Cons: potstickers more

Tasty, inexpensive dinner 6/23/2005

I went here for the first time recently. The pork pot stickers were excellent - very light and crispy. They still have that happy hour special of 6 stickers and a cocktail for only $5. I had the sesame noodles with bangkok chicken, which was fantastic and could have served two people with large appetites easily. Most of the items on the menu are between $10 and $15, so bring a date, split the happy hour special and a dinner, and walk out with plenty of money left over to spend on the rest of the evening. Get there early though! There isn't much in the way of seating - only about 10 tables total. Pros: Great food, Inexpensive, Friendly service Cons: Small place more

Awesome Restaurant! 11/2/2004

Stickers has been our favorite restaurant in portland since we moved to sellwood almost 3 years ago. The food is absolutely fantastic! The owner travels to Asia quite often and is always bringing back new ideas and exciting additions to the menu. Service is top notch and the staff is very friendly. Location and atmosphere are second to none. Intimate and romantic, yet perfect for the family as well. Take the time to stroll the sidewalks and take in the feel of sellwood before or after your meal. Try it once and you'll be a regular! Pros: Food... yummy!, Friendly staff, Perfect atmosphere Cons: , nope, nope more

Great Find 4/27/2003

I've Lived in Asia, and the best kept secret about Stickers is that it's so authentic! The potstickers are crisp and savory, not the doughy monsters you get elsewhere. The tandoori style chicken is the best I've had ANYWHERE! The Kung Pao is just like in Sichuan, mostly spicy chicken and very few distracting vegetables. But they have many dynamite veg dishes also. I haven't seen garlic spinach like Stickers' since Hong Kong. They have great cocktails, too, at excellent prices. Check out the happy hour. Pros: Authentic, Intense flavors, great prices Cons: no large group, no reservations more

tasty, fast, affordable, cool staff 11/13/2002

I have eaten at Stickers VERY frequently and am continually satisfied with my experiences. The potstickers are tasty, the Phad thai has more imagination than most and the classic wonton soup is very comforting and flavorful. The Happy hour special [6 potstickers and a cocktail, only 5$!] is a GREAT way to start an evening out. My ONLY con is how BUSY they are on weekends. Weeknights are great, wonderful service, fast and affordable tasty food. GO THERE!!!!!!!!! Pros: fast, consistent, affordable Cons: crowded on weekends, very fast, out of specials more

Good food and very cool staff 9/30/2002

We've popped into Stickers a few times, mostly as a place to go when Saburo's was closed or too packed. We find the food to be pretty good and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff is always great, especially later in the evening. Have spent some time talking with them and learning more about how the menu and decor came to be. The food is good. Not great, but good. I've not thought anything was bad, but neither have I eaten anything I'd proclaim as a favorite. Will continue to go as a back up though, they need to step up the menu a tad to claim big time status. more

Deserves High Praise 9/23/2002

Every meal we've had a Stickers has been excellent. We have eaten there at least once every two months over the last three years. Don't let a few bad reviews keep you from enjoying Stickers. We recommend the Potstickers (of course), the Tangy Sesame Noodles with Bangkok Chicken, the Tandori Chicken, and the Spicy Street Noodles with Pork. Service is prompt and the atmosphere is charming. Pros: Great Food, Consistent quality, Large Portions Cons: Not a lot of space more
