Steam Express

First time customer, and it will be the last time! I called to make an appointment and to find out more information about their service, the receptionist that answered was completely rude. I figured, I'd try it out because I had a Valpak coupon and she's not the one doing the carpet cleaning so whatever. They arrived on time and called 30 minutes ahead of time before arriving which was good. However, the service was terrible. The men did not help move the furniture whatsoever. I understand when it comes to heavy furniture but they did not move anything! They watched me and my sister move everything we could and we are two young ladies! The man examining our carpet was also arrogant, lazy, and lying about the size of the rooms ""just by looking at it"" he came up with a random square footages. I've had my carpet steamed cleaned before by other companies and they have always at least helped move the furniture. But these people are horrible. They were also cutting corners and did not do a good job. more

The first few times I used Steam Express I was happy with them. I recommend them all the time. I also have a friend who loved them as well. However, in February I had someone come out and try to sell me a lot of extra stuff. I just needed it cleaned because I was going to be replacing it with tile in a couple of months. I told him that I just wanted the deep clean and nothing else special. When he finally stopped trying to sell me extras he was in and out of my house in less than 15 minutes. It has never taken that little time before. They always clean the same area in my house and the guys always took at least 45 minutes. My carpet was still wet the next day. I was horrified. I called to complain and the representative said she would send someone else out, but I said not to bother. I don't want to use them again. I was going to start cleaning the bedroom carpets, but I am not going to use Steam Express. Not after that guy. more

Steam Express gave my husband a quote over the phone, but when they got here the price was suddenly almost double. They had quoted us $180, and at the house it become $350 before tax. They started working, and I asked them to stop, telling them I didn't want their service and I wanted them to leave. However because they were already working they wouldn't leave the house. Suddenly the technician adjusted the price lower again when he realized I was upset, but I still ended up paying $248. That is still a lot more than the original quote, but unfortunately we needed our air ducts clean. They also told me I needed my air conditioner sanitized and that I should use a deodorizer as well because I have dogs. I felt like I was being ripped off. Also, I had a coupon book that I received in the mail, and when I went to open it the guy kept talking to me as if he was trying to distract me. When I finally got a chance to look at it there was a large coupon in there for their service. I didn't even try to use it because I don't want them to ever come back. I even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, even though they are not registered with them. more
