Pretty much what you would expect from strip mall style belt sushi. Tried tempura off the belt..cold....chef made more tempura shrimp which was actually quite good. The only gem ...

YOU CALL THIS SUSHI ? SHAME ON YOU !! REPULSIVE & REPUGNANT 5/2/2011

DON'T RISK FOOD POISONING !! I'D RATHER STARVE TO DEATH THAN EAT HERE AGAIN !!\r \r I have to admit, I didn't expect it to be over the top since its a sushi track place. I should of listened to my gut instinct and ran back out. I hoped it was like Sushi Hana in Tigard, which is pretty good for a quick fix.\r \r I could rant and rage my discuss over this place, but frankly I have better things to do. I will say this is by far the worst looking fish I've ever seen, not to mention how it was cut......\r \r I just wanted to WARN and SAVE other American patrons from the same horrible experience and NAUSEOUS stomach.\r \r The BEST sushi in town is at Hakatamon next to Uwajimaya Store on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy. more

Mediocre 4/26/2011

Pretty much what you would expect from strip mall style belt sushi. Tried tempura off the belt..cold....chef made more tempura shrimp which was actually quite good. The only gem in my visit. Everything else seemed not as fresh as it could be and seemed warm like it had been sitting out for awhile. I have worked in seafood areas before and typical prep requires defrosting cryopack seafood under cold running water. At this place saw at least 5 packs of eel defrosting on the counter just on the other side of the belt. Just what everyone needed to see. Kind of a turn off... For what it was I won't be returning. I have had better belt sushi experiences in the past. more

Not a stuck up California Sushi joint 10/3/2009

If you want ambiance, traditional and expensive, this might not be the place for you. If you want good, cheap fast food Sushi (belt style) this is a great place. The staff has always treated us great and you can stuff your face for around $40.00 for two adults. You can order just about anything if you don't see it on the belt, and there is some great non-traditional food to be had here. Not the same as Obi or I Love Sushi, but not the price either. We used to go to Marinepolis until we found this place. Pros: Good food, freindly staff, cheap and quick Cons: No Plum Wine more

YUM! Fresh Fish, great selection, nice service 8/10/2009

Great deals on very good sushi, I'll be back! Pros: fresh fish, nice servers, great price Cons: parking more

Mediocre, but not terrible 6/24/2009

My lunch here was not bad, but I probably wouldn't come back. I was the only person in the restaurant and the staff was friendly but not overly attentive. Most of the sushi on the conveyor was some form of shredded surimi california roll. So california roll with salmon, with tuna, with drizzled sauce, with tobiko, etc. I also had the chef make salmon nigiri. The nigiri came pre-sliced from a styrofoam tray and the rice was in a drink cooler in the middle of the chef area. Nothing was amazing, nothing was terrible. The prices were average. I left feeling as though I probably should have just gotten a banh mit at Best Baguette for a third as much money and a lot more taste. Pros: sushi chefs will make items not on conveyor Cons: most of the sushi on the conveyor is shredded surimi more

Not Good 3/20/2009

This is a conveyor-style sushi service place, which means - limited service. It seemed as if every plate of sushi that traveled by had imitation crab. The staff (2) provided minimal service and simply hung out with some guests at a corner table watching a movie on the big screen....the decor leaves a bit to be desired and if the patrons are not greeted with much enthusiasm....there is a lot of sushi in this town, hence I will not be visiting this location again. Pros: Close to home Cons: Service, food and ambience more

Easy, fast sushi 10/26/2008

I've been searching the beaverton/portland area for a good sushi restaurant and one that also serves food that dont involve raw fish since my husband doesnt eat it, and i found star sushi really tasty. They all greeted us with a japanese phrase and we were seated quickly even though it seemed a bit busy, the service never stoped for us. All of the employees always checked up on us to refill our cups, what surprised me the most was that we could tell them what we wanted in our sushi and they made it freshly infront of us. My husband also loved the hot foods, they had the most delicious spring rolls that ive tasted before. Usually some places have oil-like spring rolls, but Star Sushi had the best ones yet, with not as much oil. We found the bentos great, they have multiple ones but he ordered the chicken one and it was probably the juiciest chicken i couldve tasted. The fish was fresh, and when i couldnt find something on the conveyor belt, theyd make it for me. And i was exstatic when i saw the conveyor belt because of all the sushi places I've tried, i havent seen a conveyor belt. Pros: Great fish tank for children to view, service, coin fountain more

Not good 9/18/2008

Overall the service wasn't very attentive and I'm a little obsessive over customer service. The sushi was most definetly not fresh. I did read the reviews here before I went but wanted to try it for myself since it's so close to home. I will never go to this restuarant again it is not worth the money or the trip. Pros: Close to home Cons: Quality of food and Customer Service more

Look at the reviews! 6/26/2008

Have you noticed that all of the positive reviews for this restaurant seem to be written by the same person, in identical broken English with no capitalization, from users with only one review- this one? Thta should tell you something! more

health concern 4/18/2008

The men's room had no soap, and the paper towel dispenser was broken. The sushi chef was making sushi with his bare hands. Maybe this is usual for sushi chefs, but it reminded me of that Seinfeld episode with the pasta primavera. My dinner companion, who did not eat any raw fish, did not have GI problems afterwards. But I did have raw fish, and I got an unwelcome wake-up call at 3am with Montezuma's revenge. more

Dirty, dirty, dirty 7/22/2007

This place is scary. I've never been to a ""conveyor belt"" style sushi restaurant and this one turned me off to any others. The staff stood around and didn't even come to our table for about 10 minutes. The cafeteria style seating was dirty, and I wasn't even aware you could order from ""chefs"" until I read other reviews. We were embarrassed by not wanting to eat anything from the conveyor belt (there was only one other couple in the restaurant so we had a feeling the sushi wasn't fresh), so we grabbed a dessert plate, ordered a beer, and went down the street to I Love Sushi. Dirty, dirty, ditry place. As we left, the cashier said, ""What's the matter, you don't like sushi?"" No, we love it...just not theirs. Pros: inexpensive Cons: dirty more

Most reasonable and best tasting sushi in Beaverton 7/7/2007

We have tried almost all the sushi bars in the beaverton-hillsboro area also a few in Portland and they are by far the most reasonable and best tasting. All there sushi is fresh and has good flavor! We recommend the crunch roll, ninja, and the rainbow roll. The chefs are very friendly and fun and the service is great! Pros: Great tasting fast service more

Very disappointing 2/8/2007

Very disappointing even after two times eating here. I will not be back. My true opinion is so bad that CitySerach won't print it. more

star sushi was the most amazing sushi restaurant in the beaverton area i loved their short ribs and their specially made house sauce, low in sodium and sweet. i went there they greated me with bunches of smiles and they have workers that arefamily friendly. and they have a great atmopshere for children and just for lunch or whatever. more

Fresh, Fast and Friendly 10/26/2006

I looked Star Sushi up online and decided to try it because it is near me. I was greeted immediately with a smile and sat down to try the conveyor belt sushi. I don't experiment that much but I loved the Tuna and many of the house rolls. I also tried a Ninja roll and was hooked. \r \r Everything was very fresh and I loved the easy-in and easy-out atmosphere. Oh yea, an added treat was the slightly sweet house soy sauce, loved it. I highly recommend for what it is, fast, fresh and clean conveyor belt sushi with attentive staff. Pros: Fast, fresh and friendly Cons: Parking can be hard. more
