Best

What I like most about these cupcakes is the buttery flavor of the moist cake, and of course the generous slathering of frosting. \r \r They are not inexpensive by any means, ...

Worst

I gotta say, these cupcakes are not special! at $3 and up, they are ALL about the hype. They're good, sure, but so are the red velvet cupcakes from Ralph's. Not worth a long line ...

Obviously people don't know a good cupcake 11/10/2007

I don't get it...every single cupcake I've had here is WAY too oily and the frosting is too sugary. The line is insane and not worth it, and the cupcake is overpriced. Hello? An entire box of Pillsbury cupcake mix costs less than $2 and tastes much less nasty. Is it just because it's trendy to like expensive little pieces of garbage? Pros: Location Cons: cupcakes more

THE place for cupcakes 11/8/2007

My girlfriend's birthday just passed and I wanted to get some cupcakes since she doesn't eat a lot of sweets and I didn't want to have to finish off a whole cake by myself. After much debate, I wound up at Sprinkles and I couldn't have made a better decision. I loved the milk chocolate and she absolutely loved the strawberry. The vanilla was pretty good and the caramel apple was a creative twist with chunks of apple. The only knock on this shop is the line. I went in the middle of the day and had to wait in line outside for 20 minutes. So be prepared. Pros: Cupcakes Cons: Long lines more

Good cupcakes but a little dry. Fun, but long lines and service with an attitude. Overpriced. 11/3/2007

Sprinkles is an experience, but the long lines and tough parking end with rushed service with an attitute. The cupcakes are beautiful and the icing is terriffic, but the cupcakes are often dry. They have ZERO shelf-life. Pretty overpriced for their size and short shelf-life. I recommend a newish place on Centinela Ave and Washington called Hotcakes Cakes. Their cupcakes are even better, more moist, and last more than 60 minutes. Plus, Hotcakes on Centinela has friendly service, a place to sit down inside - with a better product. Try Sprinkes for the novelty but get a better and more affordable product down on Centinela. Pros: Can be fun. Beautiful cupcakes. Great icing - try the peanut butter Cons: Overpriced, service with an attitude, cup cakes dry out fast, long lines, lack of parking more

REd velvet only the rest is just cupcakes 10/26/2007

I gotta give it to the red velvet cupcake! not so much ofr the others . i mean the rest are just alright nothing special about them. they also have cupcakes for your pooch however i was not told they are the size of a U.S quarter for $3 rediculous!!!! ohnestly i will not stand in line 30 min again for cupcakes! i would visit urly around 9Am and you dont have to wait in line. or call ahead on your order ! Pros: red velvet cupcake craving moment Cons: Line, over rated,no place to sit.just give them the money and leave!!! more

Ignore the Hype, even if Oprah says so 9/28/2007

These cupcakes are just not worth the hype or the price. I dont care where the sugar was shipped from or how many different kinds they use. Sugar is sugar and these cupcakes taste like plain sugar. I make cupcakes with organic ingredients and they taste FAR better than these. The cake part of the cupcake should be moist and slightly buttery. these taste like sponge cake. I couldnt get past the lemon or the carrot cake. At 3.25, I still would not finish the cupcake. We bought six and split them among the four of us just tasting each flavor. All six were left, screw the wasted expense, i dont waste calories and those were not worth it. I tried to give the carrot cake frosting the benefit of the doubt, but no!. The lemon tasted like gelatin on a sponge cake and the vanilla tasted jst like sugar i mean no variation of flavor. The red velvet is ok but thats simply bc chocolate has an overpowering taste. This instituion is NOT worth it. its just another beverly hills trend that got bigwith Oprah's endorsement. Stop giving such credit to a place simply bc its in Beverly Hills and Oprah said so! more

red velvet 9/19/2007

is beautiful, not to mention delicious! The wait is a bit long, but the cupcake is what my friends and I would call ""finger lickin good."" The frosting has a very unique texture and it's a bit sweet, but better for the sweet tooths out there. It's really a nice friendly atmosphere, kind of like a pinkberry cupcake heaven. Pros: cupcake Cons: parking more

Sprinkles Cupcakes 9/15/2007

Save your money and your time, at $3.25 per cupcake, this place is definitely not worth it! I had the red velvet cupcake and was extremely disappointed- the cake was dry and unflavorful, the icing was heavy and sweet. I probably could've made something better tasting at home. I'm from NYC, and after hearing all the praises, I expected this place to be on par with Crumbs and Magnolia- but Sprinkles isn't even worthy of comparison. To make matters worse, I had to wait outside for about 10 minutes to even get inside since the place is so cramped. This place does not live up to the hype! If you like good desserts, take your money and go to Doughboys- they have a red velvet cake which is worth waiting outside for. Pros: Nice packaging, presentation, upscale locale and feel Cons: overpriced, dry cake, cramped quarters and long wait outside to enter the establishment more

super awesome. don't forget to get milk 9/10/2007

WOW, melt in your mouth, ginormous cupcakes. worth what ever it takes to get the cupcakes. strongly recommended for true cupcake fans. love the place! Pros: everything Cons: nothing, just know your way around and bring quaters for parking more

Pretty good cupcakes 8/29/2007

Everyone seems to be talking about these cupcakes, I guess if Oprah likes them, I'll like them too. They were even in an episode of Entourage. My wife ordered them online during the week and when she tried to schedule a pickup time the same day, they asked her to pick it up on the weekend, imagine that, you have to schedule a time to pick up these damn cupcakes. So when she got them Sunday morning, I had my first taste of these Sprinkles delight. I had a small bite of the red velvet cupcake and it was pretty darn delicious...it was better than Le Cupcake or Dainties. I had some of the vanilla, chocolate and half and half and they're really rich and the frosting creamy, you can definitely taste quality. To the people who rated Sprinkles a 1 must be on something (or working for the competition), Sprinkles cupcakes deserve at least a 3 star. Pros: Delicious cupcakes Cons: Horrible service, you have to schedule a pickup which is stoopid more

Way Overhyped - Dry Cupcakes 8/28/2007

Sorry, I have to agree with the review below... I finally went to Sprinkles to see if they lived up to the hype.... Answer....NO. The cupcakes were sweet but dry. Beautiful presentation, but lacking true flavor. I would recommend Yummy Cupcakes in Burbank over this place any day... Pros: Nice Presentation Cons: Not nearly as good as the hype would suggest. more

Dull Cupcake 8/25/2007

Sorry, but get some tastebuds folks. I have tasted several of the cupcake flavors and do not understand what is so appealing. There is almost a lack of flavor to these expensive little cakes not to mention the dull frosting. They are pretty and the presentation with the packaging is certainly nice but go buy a mix and make buttercream frosting at home. \r Pros: Decor is nice Cons: Lacks flavor in the cupcake and frosting more

Tasty lil cupcakes! 7/17/2007

My sister Nancy and I actually went to the Sprinkles in Fashion Island, Newport Beach. When we arrived there the line to go inside was LONG!...but we were on a mission to taste them so we stoically waited about 10mins...argh Finally we managed to wedge ourselves inside...we purchased 4 of them to share/eat..(YEAH!) We promptly found some seating nearby and unboxed our treasures! LOL We both agreed the Red Velvet cupcake was the best! Very moist cake and the cream cheese topping was excellent!!! (I'm going back this week to buy MORE for ME !) 2nd being the milk chocolate w/choc sprinkles, very moist and tasty cake with a wonderful milk choc topping and liberal choc sprinkles! ...next the strawberry, again moist cake and the icing was delicious and very strawberry in flavor!!! and our LAST and I won't ever buy again was the coconut...too dry and grainy tasting (they should have given them away for free just for standing in line even! LOL)...VERY dissappointing indeed as I'm a coconut lover...*sighs*\r I'm abit aghast at the price of a SINGLE cupcake...hmm . The fact that I have to buy a dozen to get a lower price doesn't make me happy....tho dammit...that red velvet cupcake is quite tempting indeed! I see that they produce a chai cupcake among many other yummy flavors...So I definately can say I'll be back there to buy and sample more! They don't make all the flavors everyday, so you'll have to check out the flavors avail for the day your there. One note...if you bake at all...then do go ahead and bake your own cupcakes...tedious as it can be...but if you're stuck on time...drive to Sprinkles and buy, buy, buy! They're mostly YUMMY, YUMMY, and oh...YUMMY! Pros: adequate parking, prompt service Cons: small cupcakes for the price more

BEST CUPCAKES IN THE WORLD!!!! 7/12/2007

Sprinkles has the BEST cupcakes ever. Even though the line is always long, it is well worth the wait. I usually buy a dozen cupcakes to take home with me. I wish they had more locations though. I recommend the ""Red Velvet"" cupcake for first-timers! Pros: Great Tasting Cupcakes Cons: Long Lines more

great all week long 7/12/2007

when I go to sprinkles I usually get 7 or 8 to last my hubby & i thru the week ( we've been spliting one to save on calories and to make the magic last longer) Just pop them in the fridge and they are good all week long just take them out a few hours before you want to eat it. the moistness maintains!!! Once you go to sprinkles once you'll be back!!! Pros: best dessert on earth Cons: expensive, long lines, fattening more

glad sprinkles lives up to the hype 7/9/2007

Yes there is a long line, but that's no big deal if you expect it, so expect it!!! the cupcakes are little pieces of heaven, I would liek to request some of the workers more a little faster, one guy was movign the oppisite of warp speed yesterday. but the cakes~ yummy!!! Pros: it's delicious, fun stuff always happens in line in beverly. Cons: the calories!!! more

Rob a bank if you have to... 7/7/2007

This is the ultimate cupcake. Believe me when I say: Sprinkles is hard to beat. I didn't even know I liked coconut until I had their coconut cupcake (my mouth is watering just thinking about it). They've nailed it: soft, moist, dense (but not too dense) cake, with a creamy, thick frosting. Mmmm...so yummy. Flavor is right on. Can't deny the price is high, but who's eating more than one HUGE cupcake, anyway? I will say, the red velvet is one of their weakest flavors and for some reason it's garnered the most attention. Stick with the vanilla-based flavors (especially the vanilla). It's not even normal how good it is. Trust me. more

Good cupcakes but long lines 6/29/2007

I've personally never really liked cupcakes just because I've always thought it was something you can make yourself. And I never really understood why my friends were so crazy about Sprinkles until I decided to give it a try last year. I had their Red Velvet and I almost melted. The cupcake was big although still a little pricey for $3.25. Another one of my favorites is the Vanilla and the Black and White. They have different flavors offered on different days. On holidays, they make special cupcakes which is always a treat. For example, for Passover and Easter, they had a Flourless Chocolate which was amazing, especially after you microwave it for 12 seconds. I ended up ordering 6 for myself to stock up a bit since they only had it for a week. Another one I heard was good was the Pumpkin and the Chai. The Banana was okay; the best part about it, as it always is, was the frosting. They also have mini dog cupcakes as well for about mid-$2 which my dog always loves. The two reasons why I didn't give it five stars are because (a) there is not much space to sit and hang out. they have what looks like a little bar that fits 3 people and two small tables outside that fits 2 people per table. (b) the line can be long sometimes, especially as of lately, and I have had to wait more than half an hour before. Otherwise, the cupcakes are a treat and parking is not a problem. It's a good place for tourists to go to just to say that you've been since there aren't many Sprinkles around. Pros: They offer a variety of yummy cupcakes and cupcakes for dogs as well. Parking is not hard to find either. Cons: No place to sit and long lines. more
