Sparkkles Restoration

I would not recommend this company at all (they were recommended by my HOA so I went with them due to immediate need). I watched their workers very carefully and know 90% of what was done. They misquoted the square footage for water extraction from my carpet, claimed to spray anti-microbial (which i never saw done) and charged an additional hour for which they were not here (I watched the clock from arrival time to departure time) and refuse to adjust it accurately. Their workers were friendly; however, they did not wear boot covers over their nasty boots. My carpet is a light beige and is hard enough to keep clean without 2-3 people in dirty boots walking across it. I will NEVER use them again! Next time (hopefully there won't be a next time), I will go with Carolina Debris. more

Sparkkles does not complete the job they promise. I'm now having to hire someone to finish the job they promised. As soon as they get payment (which they demand immediately and will call nonstop all day and mail daily bills) you will not hear from this company again. Save yourself the money and headache. No peace of mind with this company! more

If you're reading this find another company. I had a water leak with mold growth and the problem could have been remediated in a matter of six weeks, max. Sparkkles took nearly SIX MONTHS to do the job and I finally ended up running them out of my house so I could do the trim painting myself because their painters were terrible (overloaded rollers, leaving runs on the walls; cheap rollers that left copious amounts of lint on the walls; paint on outlet covers).\r \r It wasn't just the painters who were awful. The demolition crew didn't go nearly far enough in their remediation efforts and had to be continually brought back, causing multiple delays lasting at least 3 weeks each time. This required numerous often unanswered phone calls to the manager who never initiates contact with you. \r \r The crews use a highly pungent chemical mix in your home that takes weeks to dissipate. The odors are awful. To make matters worse, one worker also sprayed it onto the room's entire plywood subf more

We had a pipe burst when we were on vacation. Our house flooded, including carpeting, flooring, bathroom cabinets, etc. They were great! All of the employees were polite. The first thing that they did, was to dry out the house, above and under the house. That process is a bit unpleasant, because of the noise from the fans. They replaced carpeting, cabinets, got rid of the mildew. They returned calls on a prompt basis, and worked very well with our insurance company. I thought that they were great! more

I used to work for Sparkkles and was replaced by illegal aliens just before Christmas 2009 and I have three kids. The illegals make half of what I was making. That's the reason they gave me. They only needed me for 7 weeks to work on an Air Force base in Goldboro because the illegals were not allowed on base. I was lied to and used by Sparkkles Restoration. The owner Randy and the managers were all real nice to me when I was working there but COLD AS ICE when laying me off. It's always break time at Sparkkles. They had me doing electrical work and I'm no electrician. Hope it came out alright. You never know what to expect with this company. I'm a good worker and did not deserve this treatment. They use people and do half ass work and take their sweet time doing it. Beware of this company. more

The drip pan for the air conditioner in the condo above ours overflowed. It soaked our utility closet ceiling and caused a chunk of drywall to fall. I was concerned that mold could be growing in the space between the floors, so I called Sparkkles. more

had a water heater on the top floor basically pour out it's contents through my home-- what i thought were ruined hardwoods, sparkkles salvaged very nicely. they were extremely thorough in making sure everything (drywall, flooring, etc) was dried out completely and they paid the most attention to detail than any other company i've used for similar situations before. i would give them an outstanding recomendation because thankfully my heart pine floors dont show that they were ever flooded, the drywall looks better than it did before, and everyone i dealt with had great customer service more

Julie at Sparkles Restoration was great! HOWEVER, I found that the managers/owners were not as great - especially when I become hesistant as to whether or not I wanted them to actually do the restoration on my home. After reading the reviews, I am glad that I did not get them to do the work! more

This was the worst experience I've ever had with a company. First of all, they were nice (at least the workers were, the owner was not). However, they were not professional. They continually missed deadlines of when my items were to be cleaned and returned to me. When they eventually did finish, they wanted to charge me an absorbent fee for storage, when they were the ones who delayed the process and therefore stored my items! Also NUMEROUS items were missing, which I found out later they threw away (that could have been cleaned, but they were too lazy). They promised to pay to replace them, but never did. Then to top it all off, a large amount of my items they did clean were broken, missing parts, scratched, etc. MAJOR appliances were returned to me broken... were they dropped perhaps?! They also packed small items in large boxes and packed them half full, then charged me for a large size box cleaning! Ex: one HUGE box contained only 4 or 5 kitchen utensils, and I was overcharged for them to clean that box. VERY sketchy company. I believe the workers work hard, but the owner Mr. Baker has other motives...Just a warning to the public, do not use this company. I had significant floor and wall damage due to a water leak. My insurance company selected Sparkkles as the restoration service. At first I felt I was in good hands but the workers involved and the lack of genuine concern to restore my home was nonexistant. The work was shotty and had to be redone several times (3- 4 times). Other work requests kept bumping my work to the back burner, and what should have taken a month took FIVE months. My house is not even close to being the same as it was before the damage. I wish I could go back in time and have selected another restoration company. I hope this input helps some folks avoid the anguish I went through with Sparkkles. more
