Southside Auto Mart

Bought a car from these guys a couple of weeks ago , took it for a test drive & had heat issues which they were informed about .Taking it back this week & HOPEFULLY it will be resolved , I'll be posting again with the outcome . more

I am looking around at various dealerships to see what kind of car I want and decide to go check out a Mini Cooper at South Side. My friend and I walk in to the small office where no one is to be seen, but upon further searching we find a man whom seems to be the owner at a desk behind a wall if tires. I say we are interested in the car, to which he asks "what?", making me repeat myself three times before asking me how I was going to pay for it. Now, keep in mind I only said I was interested. I told him it would be cash, to which he responded "show me the cash". Now, when looking for a car I don't carry around the money to purchase it, especially when it's $9000. He then proceeded to say "there will be no joyriding today boys". First of all, I'm 25 years old, and you don't treat customers like that. I left and bought an $11000 car, a sale he missed out on. If you want to be treated with respect, stay away from this "dealership". more

These people are crooks. Horrible service! They sold my wife a crappy car! Less than a week after we got it home, it was having problems. Took it to them to have it fixed. They fixed it alright! But caused another problem (I'm 99% sure they did it on purpose). They wanted me to pay to have a problem they caused to be fixed. Of course I declined. Taking them to small claims pretty soon. I should have paid attention to the 5 complaints on BBB. Now six because of mine. Oh-yea, the only reason this business has 3.75 stars is because the owners log on with different email accounts and give false reviews. If you check the grammar (lack of) and punctuation (again, lack of), they are the same. Also, I'm a pre-law major... So if anybody wants help with their case or would like somebody to guide them, just let me know. They messed with the wrong person! more

Southside Auto is a great car dealership. I have always received top service from Dominic and the other sales/service staff. They are friendly, helpful and answer all of my questions promptly and truthfully. They beat all of the used car dealerships in the area, they have a great selection of cars and reasonable prices. I would recommend Southside to anyone who is looking to buy a car or service a vehicle more

I should have paid attention to the five BBB unresolved complaints.. Soon to be six. I contacted Mark about a V6 Camry I was interested in since I was out of state. I asked him what was wrong with the car.. I wasn't told about the broken inside door handle, broken antenna, torn head liner, rear seats not attached, putrid smell like it sat for years, sun roof caulked in place.. Or the seat stitching completely separated which he told me about the day before I flew out after I had paid $1100 down and had a plane ticket in hand. I was also told if I had a mechanical issue on the way home, South side auto mart would pay for half of the repair. I bought the car because a return plane ticket would have cost a fortune and the car did seem to run OK while trying to forget the other issues. 50 miles out of town the car started to run rough shaking and shuddering. Most of the 350 mile trip home I was wondering if it would make it in one piece. I brought the car to my mechanic who installed new plugs and wires for $420. I called south side back with the bill in hand and was told plugs and wires were typical maintenance and they wouldn't pay for half of the repair after I was told they would. BLATANT LIE ! I ended up paying OVER clean retail for a car which would need another $2000 in parts and labor to be so. Don't walk away.. RUN! more

I bought a great neon from this place awhile back and i loved that little car. I paid around $4,500 or $5,000 for it and it had super low miles for the year. The car was super clean and they were very nice people. They even gave me a warrenty free. The only thing the car needed was a new compressor for the a/c unit over a year later which was under $500 typical for a neon so no biggie at all. I liked my experience there and i loved my car. I would still have it until this day had it not been totaled in an accident. I wold go back there to look for another car. Its a small lot but the cars look clean and the people are nice. more

We did business with Southside AM in December 2009. I have to say that we bought a vehicle with low miles 67,000 and it was 10 years old --- but it looked like it was kept in the garage. We bought it. We drive it and it's fine. It had some issues in the beginning but Mark and his dad took it to Kia to have it looked over and we haven't had a problem since we picked it up. We also took it to our own mechanic and he really thought we got a good deal $4999. I like the way these guys do business. They're curteous and reasonable. In these economic times you need to do business with understanding businesses. And that is what Southside Auto Mart provided. Good luck in 2010-2011. Would we buy another auto from So. Side Auto--Probably so! more

I don't know what these close minded stuck up people are talking about because i bought a 2005 chevy trail blazer for them with 50,000 miles on it for 9,600 not only was the price and mileage great but they made me feel comfortable there and every time i made a payment they weren't money hungry they were more worried about the truck and me. They ask every visit hows the truck and how am i doing. I also recently 12/2/2009 bought another vehicle a mazda 626 with low miles dominic literly told me since i bought a vehicle before that he would help me out on the price for this one. I'm so satistfied with there services that when i get my income tax im going to buy another car from them more

We recently bought a car, and at first glance-we thought it was really great how they don't pressure you and aren't working on commission...we picked up the car we bought and within less than two hours the check engine light went on-we immediately called and took the car back, over the next few days we were given the run around and had to keep calling since we weren't getting calls back(we were out of town at this point). No one was following thru on their promises to look at the car and they even said they were taking it to another specialized repair person-but no one communicated this to the mechanic..so our car just sat there. Funny how they say they're going to work with you and then suddenly you get the run around. I am disappointed by this since I am a huge proponent of shopping local small businesses. more

I first went there because i needed tires, my radiator went the same day, since i could afford it they tried a stop leak and it worked for a good while. They see that sometimes helping out is better then making a bigger buck and every time I have gone back they have taken great care of me. more

I've taken my car here multiple times for service and it has been tremendous! I've had minor to major repairs done and everything has always been done perfectly and at very fair prices. I've also shopped for used cars there and haven't bought one yet but have taken notice of their incredibly low sticker prices compared with other area used car dealers. The service has always been excellent. I highly recommend South Side Auto Mart for your repair and used car needs! I'll definitely buy my next car from them. more

I bought a car from this dealership. I asked if the car had any oil leaks and was informed no. I don't have a warranty on this car and was never offer one either. Shortly after having the car I noticed a nickel size oil drop. Took the car back and was told that the oil pan gasket was loose. Two days later the nickel size oil drop became a puddle. Took the car back again and they had the car for two days. I was told this time that it needed an oil housing gasket. I was called back by Dominic who informed me that there was no more leak and that I could pick the car up. It was than that I was inform that I had a bill of $264.00 which was never discussed before doing the work or when called back by Dominic. Needless to say, I still have an oil leak and the company refuses to complete the work that they started. Beware of this family company because their word doesn't mean a thing. Reporting them to the BBB with this problem. more

This was a great place to do business. My initial contact was with Mark Moris. I ended up working with Dominique who was great to do business with.\r He was very detail oriented and efficient in helping to close the deal. I'm very impressed with his service.\r I took my vehicle to Poulos Automotive in South Milwaukee for an independant vehicle inspection ($50.00). I recieved a list of things that needed replacement:\r \r Rear tailpipe was missing\r Front discs and rotors needed replacemet (brakes)\r Front end alignment needed\r 4 tires needed replacement\r \r Dominique repaired the first three items at no charge. The tires they offered to me at their cost and gave me until the end of the year to take them up on their offer.\r \r I'm satisfied with the selection of their vehicles and the prices. Very pleasant car shopping experience. more

I just want to tell that it is always a pleasure working with Mark and his staff. Never a lie... Always the truth!!! Cars are at a reasonable price and if something is not right they'll tell you. How many will do that for you? We bought a beautiful ""Buick Rendezvous"" loaded!!! Sure it had 94,000 miles on it, but in perfect condition!!! Year 2003 and very well maintained. Price: $6100.00 for a car that is sold for $8500.00 to $12,000... I have bought cars from Mark and Southside Auto Mart before... Never a problem!!! Honest Used Car Sales Persons... What a WONDERFUL place to buy a car from... Pros: Honest!!! more

Although the only car we checked out was a Rendezvous, the service was better than most. The guy was kind and courteous when helping us out. It did take a while for him to come out and ask if we needed anything but at least he did. The car - not so good. It rattled, whined and was dripping an unknown fluid from the front. The interior wasn't the best either. Pros: Nice selection of cars, a rather large lot, on-site garage, average customer service Cons: The particular car we looked at wasn't the greatest more
