In the heart of the Montrose, one of the last surviving neighborhood hardware stores. It won't take you a fortnight to walk from one end to the other like in the big-box stores, and the staff is friendly, available and knowledgeable. Several people on staff have been working there for decades. Don't be fooled by the apparent small size - the place is far bigger than it appears from the outside, if a bit maze-like, and their selection in most categories rivals their larger chain competitors. Their prices may be a bit higher on some items, but in my opinion I make up the difference in the gas and effort it would take to go to one of the mega-stores.
PROS: location, helpful staff
