When I started working over in Portsmouth, I needed a place to get my hair cut/streaked. A friend recommended Solari - and I'm so glad she did! I go to Tanya and my hair has NEVER looked better! Best of all - this is the first salon I've been to where I don't feel like I have to go home and wet my hair down - I always come out feeling great! more

Amazing Stylists 1/21/2011

I was very impressed with my experience here. I came in to change my hair color from dark red-brown back to my natural dark blond. My hair is over 2 feet long and hard to work with. Sylvie worked on my hair for 4 hours doing a full foil and toning, and it turned out perfectly. She got all of the unwanted brassy red tint out, and in the end my hair was still in great condition. Even though the color change was somewhat dramatic, it looks totally natural. On top of all that the price was incredibly reasonable. I will definitely go back. more

Beautiful Experience 7/23/2009

I've been to Pyara in Cambridge before, so I appreciate the level of care you get when you come to an Aveda salon, and it's well worth it in my opinion. I haven't been to Solari (yet) but my best friend got her hair cut there a few weeks ago and she came out looking GORGEOUS. She was absolutely glowing when she stepped out of the salon, and i swear she even had a little extra sashay in her step! And therein lies the difference; at an aveda salon they strive to make you beautiful without a lot of fuss and maintenance and stress like other places, so you get a whole beautiful experience and you come out feeling wonderful- even if you're just getting your nails done. Suffice to say I'm really looking forward to my upcoming Solari experience. Already they have earned my devotion, but what really cinched it was an experience this morning: Solari saved the day when I called looking for a last-minute appointment for myself and my best friend- on Saturday morning, no less! I'm eloping later more

Great haircuts 4/21/2008

This salon has a friendly staff, is neat and trendy, but a bit pricey. I had really long hair when I came here and asked for an actual hairstyle, and they were wonderful. It was one of the best haircuts I've ever had. more

i'm a bit lazy when it comes to hair maintenance, but i've been to solari over the past few years about a half a dozen times. even though my hair needs vary--from simple trims to color advice to drastic changes in style--i have been so very pleased with the results every time. one striking occurrence has been the honest professionalism of the staff. they aren't afraid to make creative or money-saving suggestions, yet they listen and do EXACTLY what i want. i always emerge from solari feeling beautiful and refreshed. and even though i emerge only sporadically (given my own negligent hair upkeep) the staff make me feel like i belong. they even showed me how to cut my own new bangs. they are so not snooty. more
