I've been going go Solara for my third 5/31/2012

I've been going go Solara for my third laser treatment and so far it's working well. Can't wait for the final results. I think everyone should consider taking this route (with Solara of course) in order to achieve a more effective way of getting rid of unwanted hair. more

Solara Skin Care Treatments 2/13/2012

I went originally to another ""spa"" for a skin care treatment and the treatment I received was not as effective as the treatments I received at Solara. I have always been self-conscious about my skin but after the treatments, I feel more conformable with my skin's appearance. The staff is has always supportive and friendly and I plan to make a trip to Solara every year as part of my skin care routine. more

Friendly staff and great services 1/31/2012

I have visited this spa on two occasions now and each time have been treated with the best hospitality. I learned of this spa from a friend and now I'm addicted. If I only had a money tree! I recommend this spa by far over any other in anchorage :) more

Relaxing! 1/31/2012

I first visited Solara with a friend and from the moment you walk in you are surrounded by a calm atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and created us promptly. After going here with my friend i booked my own appointment to follow in two weeks. I very much suggest Solara if you are wanting a relaxing and enjoyable getaway! more

Clean and Comfortable 1/13/2012

I was nervous about having laser hair removal done the first time. I didn't need to be. Eileen and Lori were professional, personable, and put you at ease. The center is clean and the treatments are working. more

Solar is such a clean, friendly and beautiful place to go. The laser hair removal is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. They staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is clean and bright. I will be back! more

Not as Promised 11/29/2011

They sold me a $500 ""package"" for laser hair removal, which included 5 treatments. They never mentioned it didn't work on light colored hair. (Mine is a blend of 1/3 brown, 2/3 white).This was only relayed to me by my technician during the first treatment. When I then tried to get a refund of at least part of the $500, they refused. I have been going for more treatments because it's throwing money away either way. Sure enough, it leaves the lighter hair alone. BTW: They get real snotty when you don't love them; the previously sweet demeanor evaporates! more

For quite some time I have wanted to pursue cosmetic resurfacing to alleviate scars of acne past. I was skeptical and hesitant about the cost and procedures available for treatment. Upon visiting Solara, their staff was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable while their services were much more reasonable than I had expected. Initially I was nervous about the pain accompanying the procedure, but staff explained everything I needed to know in great detail and were very accommodating. more

Staff is delightful, & once you are a "regular" client the specials just keep coming. Their location at the University Center makes for easy, free parking. more

I have always been very happy with the services I have recieved from the staff at Solara. Probably one of my favorite services that they offer is Botox. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about getting it done before my appointment but the staff is very professional and explains the procedures in detail ahead of time. I couldn't believe the results that I got! I felt like I looked years younger for just a quick 15 minute appointment. Worth every penny. more

My favorite is Angie:) She always recommends new treatments and products and I am always a very happy customer when I visit her. I recently had a tattoo removal done too. I am on my second treatment and am impressed with how little scarring there is and how much lighter the tattoo is now. Eileen is the best! The front desk staff is also very friendly and helpful when I am calling to make my appointments. I would definently reccomend Solara to all my friends and family. :) more

I am so impressed with Velashape. I have lost all the fat on my rear end. It looks 20 years younger. I saw the results with the first treatment and I still have one more to go. The staff is professional and caring. My consultation was very informative and truthful. I would recommend the Salon and I intend to have other treatments with them. Pros: I saw improvement with the first appointment Cons: A bit uncomfortable But worth it! more

Don't wait like I did, just do it! 4/16/2009

My experience at Solara has been absolutely wonderful from the beginning. I've recently completed 2 of 5 sessions for IPL hair removal, full legs and underarms. I've been struggling with dark, coarse (porcupine like) hairs on my legs since I was an early teenager. It has been so bad I would not let my husband touch my legs or allow myself to wear shorts/skirt w/o tights and swimming (no way). Just on the first treatment alone I instantly noticed a huge difference. The hairs were growing back much, much slower than usual. I would say I've already noticed about a 30-40% reduction. Just last night, I told my husband he could touch my legs. :) NO SPIKES, woohoo! and I havent even shaved in 2 days. Normally I have to shave everyday no matter what. So, if you want amazing results and excellent customer service then do yourself a favor and check out Solara for whatever your needs maybe. I wish I didnt wait as long as I did. I could've used this years ago. Pros: Amazing results along with excellent customer service! more

last review obviously a hoax 3/5/2009

Hi I am the one of the owners of solara and in regards to the review last posted I would like to state that obviously this is just one business trying to ruin anothers. We play fair unfortunately other business's in town like to talk bad and spread untrue rumors about the competetion to benefit themselves. Here are the facts: Autumn hasn't worked here in over 2.5 years, there is always an owner present at all times when the business is open and people who don't get results off of one of the treatments with lasers, whether it be with hair or wrinkles or cellulite reduction are very few. For those few we bend over backwards to get them results. Sometimes people come in with false expectations hoping that we can do magic, we don't claim to do magic, just offer a service to help people look their best at an affordable price. I have checked all of our prices against the lower 48 states and we are cheaper on every treatment. That NEVER happens in alaska, and you can see by reading other reviews what our place is like. more
