I give it a two stars for a few fines that you may find, but the prices are what you can find on sale at the retail store....way too high for a consigment shop. I went to Reynolda...

Snob Shop is Really Great 1/28/2012

I both consign and shop at The Snob Shop. Overall I find quality items that cannot be found anywhere else in the area. The staff remembered my name within my first few visits and always greet me. In reading these comments I see a lot of ""sour grapes"" which I find to be in keeping with the overall attitude of society today. It sounds like these folks expect to be treated as royalty without showing respect and consideration for the staff. If you haven't walked a mile in there shoes then you really don't have a clue what you are complaining about. The Snob Shop and staff are competent, hard-working and quite knowledgeable about this type of business. Thank you for the service that you provide! more

The Name Says it All 10/28/2011

If you want to visit a shop with bad parking, rude and unhelpful employees then the Snob Shop is for you. I've visited a couple of times - to buy - and left shortly after getting there both times because of the staff. I actually heard them talking rudely about another customer. more

Life is too short to deal with snobs 9/1/2011

I'm glad I read the review from ncf. I was thinking about taking some designer purses and clothing to the Snob shop but I was reminded of one worker I have seen over the years who is truly a snob. It is inexcusable to be rude to well meaning customers. I will take my things to Goodwill instead. more

Snob lives up to it's name. 8/10/2011

Yesterday my mother, mother-in-law and I visited the shop and bought several items. I am new to the Winston-Salem area and was very excited to see such a nice shop with wonderful items. I commented that I'd finally found a great shop. I couldn't have been more wrong.\r \r My pleasant shopping experience ended abruptly at the check-out counter. First of all, I had to ask for a bag for the merchandise that I bought. No big deal really, just figured the elderly lady working there forgot. THEN the younger, dark-haired woman came over. I asked her what the business was a few doors down because I couldn't figure out what it was. She looked at me, smirked, then said, ""Why you askin' me??!!"" So much for southern hospitality huh?\r \r I couldn't believe how rude she was! I immediately snapped back with, ""Well because you WORK here."" She said nothing more and we left. If we hadn't already made our purchases, we would have walked out. We will never go back again.\r \r The thing this lady needs to realize is that with the Internet, actions such as hers can be posted for EVERYONE to read. It is my hope that she reads this post and stops herself the next time she feels the need to lash out at a customer for no good reason.\r \r BTW - we went to a consignment shop around the corner and told that clerk about our experience. She was shocked and commented that she has referred customers to that shop. Maybe she won't anymore. \r \r So....to the lady with the dark hair who was wearing the cute apron at Snob Consignment, PLEASE remember to treat people with respect. You never know what your customers are going through at the time, and maybe a kind word from you would make them smile more

Snob Shop - Very Snobby 4/27/2011

I've been to the Snob Shop Consignment store around 4 - 5 times. I kept wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, that maybe next time they will be nicer and not come off so grand. It amazes me that the people who work there come off like they possess a PHd in consignment.! They really need to work on their people skills, and by that I mean making potential customers feel welcome and not like an unworthy person in their store. While they do have some good items for resale, I have chose to spend my money at businesses that are friendly and know that in these times most people won't choose a snobby place to spend their hard earned money. I have and will continue to tell my friends or strangers not to shop at Snob because it is exactly that.. I've got to wonder if any of those women hold any college degrees... more

Snob--an unpleasant consignment experience 11/23/2010

I had shopped a few times at snob. While I didn't think the salespeople were particularly friendly or helpful, I thought I would bring in some items for consignment, some of which were new. There was also a new purse and some jewelry--all new, or looked liked new. Some of the clothes may not have worked, but I brought things in that were seasonal or season-less. I dropped off on a Wednesday afternoon and got a call Friday night which I didn't actually get until Sunday. While I suppose it was my fault, by the time I got there Tueday morning everything had been donated and THERE WAS NO RECEIPT OR RECORD. The woman at the desk said ""I tried to call your house this morning"" for whatever that was worth. I wonder: did they really just ""donate"" that purse, that jewelry, the suit, the shirts, all of it? I know I could have taken a number of these items elsewhere, but didn't. I won't make that mistake again. more

The ladies at the Snob Shop 7/31/2010

As a customer since 1990, when the previous generation (mothers) ran the shop, I love snob. \r \r They really know what is going on and they offer great high fashion items. Fashion is not cheap and I do not mind paying their prices. They know how much I love Burberry, so when an item arrived they call me. \r They have really made the store a much better place to shop because of the re-organization. They made it cozier and a place where I always meet old friends for a chat and shop for high end brands.\r \r I do like and appreciate you Snob. Thanks for dressing me up so well.\r \r \r \r \r Pros: Great Brand Names Cons: 80% 0ff Sale Items Removed Too Quick more

I love snob! 7/15/2010

I recently moved to winston-salem, and was in search of a good consignment store to sell some clothing and housewares items. snob was by far the best consignment store that i found in the area. it was decorated great, and the employees were welcoming. they sell at a reasonable price and i have made a good amount of money since i have started consigning there and i would highly recommend it! Pros: great buys, such a cute store! Cons: none that i have come across so far! more

Winston-Salem 5/11/2010

I took 20 garments (many designer brand new clothes with the tags still attached). After several months of not hearing from them, I called to check the status. They claimed to have called and left a message that they were not interested in carrying my clothes and to pick them up. I NEVER received a message from them. They said they donated the items to a charity since I did not pick them up the next day. What a shoddy way to run a business. Be aware that they are dishonest. Pros: they are named correctly... Snobby Cons: Rude, misleading more
