Worst Experience Ever 7/26/2011

I cannot believe this place is still in business!!! The salespeople do not know the vehicles they are selling; they promise you things are included with your vehicle that really are NOT! They do not return phone calls. My vehicle was damaged when it was delivered to me. Then the scum of a salesman I had actually called my insurance company a month after I leased my vehicle and tried to change my policy without my knowledge! more

I have never walked into a Dealership that was in as much dissaray as the day I walked into Smithhaven Chrysler Jeep Dodge. My experience from start to finish was terrible and handled so unprofessionally that I thought I was in a surreal experience. The language being used by salespeople and other other employees we're in horrible taste... I've been to some dealers that were considered to be the small mom and pop stores that are more intimate and handle you with more care which was what I thought I was walking into here because there wasn't a whole lot to the dealership. No big signs, no reception area with attractive treats and literature, no organized lot with clearly defined areas to park.... etc. This dealership was just not customer friendly, and the people didn't help either. This dealership has all the negatives of the big giant dealers that don't remember your along with all the negatives of a mom and pop dealersjip that don't have enough money to give the customer a proper selection of cars or even a clean place to sit. After about an hour of wasted negotiating I finally got there bottom number. I immediately went to BROWN'S JEEP in medford on route 112 where they beat Smithhaven by 1500 dollars and delivered my car the next day!!! I didnt even have to finance like Smithhaven was forcing me to do. I handed the curtious salesperson at BROWN'S my 5000 dollar cash deposit that the salesperson at smithhaven didn't even bother to ask if i had on me when they wanted a commitment and was done an hour later!! After I got home I looked up the Better Business Bureau rating for Smithhaven Chrysler Jeep Dodge and found out it has the lowest BBB rating that can be given. Don't waste your time at this dealership where everyone is obviously asleep at the wheel and head right over to BROWN'S which isn't even that far away, maybe ten minutes..... It amazes me that in this day and age someone could own a business that run's like that and stay competitive in this market. I'm sure the're hurting financially especially with all the finely run establishments that are less than a couple miles away.... Wow now I know why it was so dingy and dirty there..... more

I was completely satisfied overall, but this was the 2nd battery they've installed within a semester, and I wonder if the problem was just bad batteries, or if it could be something else, like something draining the battery. I was satisfied with the work quality but I wasn't sure if they weren't overlooking something. The 1st battery this business replaced was at the end of October, and at that time, I informed them a battery was installed less than a year ago at a Baltimore business like this. Now another battery was replaced right after Thanksgiving break. They could serve me better possibly by looking at something other than a bad battery. more

The worst three ring circus on the Planet. Barnum&Bailey had a better run organization than this waste of commercial real estate. The salesperson was completely clueless. The cuffs and shirt collar on his unwashed shirt were embedded with dirt. Complete waste of time was had listening to this untrained monkey. One doesn't have to look far to see why this untrained lifeless drone is allowed to work there. The management is completely useless and if put up against an educated person with any form of rederick or articulation becomes completely frustrated and ignorant. The management should be flipping burgers or at best salespeople at the men's wherehouse at best. The latter only because there clothing was slightly less wrinkled than the salesperson. There not fooling anybody with there three for one karako suits though. No class or real sense of style at all. Especially the younger manager on the elevated particle board desk. As a whole the dealership was disgusting and dirty. The owner looked like he just did three ounces of cocaine and was wearing a pistol, which brought forth absolutely no intimmidation or fear by myself or anybody else around him, except for the fact that he would wound a bystander instead of hitting his intended target trying to sight in amidts his coke hangover...... The bottom line is everyone in that place is a mess including the owner. Goes to show any organization is only as good as its leader....(who should be pistol whipped with his own weapon) more

The handling of the financing was a little shaky at first, but everything worked out in the end. The initial shakiness wasn't this business's fault, but it took time for them to get a bank that would finance my vehicle. When my vehicle was delivered to me they did not have time for them to detail it, but went to them today to have my vehicle detailed. I was disappointed with a lot of scratches on my new vehicle, but this business told me to bring her vehicle back to them and they would take care of the scratches, and paint my vehicle. However I was satisfied with the communication. more

I purchased my new 2009 Chrysler 300 from Smithhaven and I have to say it was the best experience that I have received at a dealership and I have been to a few. My salesmen was great he went over the vehicles with me took his time and explained the programs and different packages that were available to me. Over all the whole experience was great. Any one looking for a vehicle, just go to Smithhaven they are great! more

Dear Brent I want to congratulate you on adding Derek Welga to your sales staff. We recently purchased new Chrysler Town and Country form your dealership, and Derek was the salesmen who guided us through the process. I'm sure you know how stressful such a large purchase can be, and having a salesman you trust to help you make the wisest investment possible goes a long way in reducing stress and making the purchase more enjoyable. Derek did that for us. He was pleasant, cooperative, and willing to go out of his way to see that we found the vehicle we wanted. He, more than any other person we dealt with in your office, responded to our inquiries immediately, and apologized for others who were far less helpful. Derek may not have as much experience as others on your staff, but I assure you, as a person who has purchased a few new vehicles (many of them Chryslers), he was the most professional, courteous, and just plain nice salesman I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with (and the only one I've ever felt warranted a thank you letter), and I will certainly ask for him when I next visit your showroom. more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! 3/13/2011

I recently leased a car from this dealership, and had the worst experience ever. It is suppose to be fun getting a new car and they made me miserable!! We agreed on a lease deal for a new Jeep Wrangler, they told me the car will be in,in a week and I could come in and get it. When they called to have me look at the car it was not the car we spoke about! They then relocated another car and told me it would be ready in a few days. I went and had the car insured and the car was not ready for 2 WEEKS!!! When I went in to sign all the paperwork they lied and the paperwork was completely wrong and wanted us to pay $80 more per month on our lease!! On top of all of that the Finance Manager was a complete JERK! He was so rude and disrespectful and made the whole experience even worse. Worse car experience!!! I would never recommend this dealership to anyone! HORRIBLE more

crooks beware 3/1/2010

i bought a used challenger from this dealer, the price was good, they kept me there the whole day till closing. when i got home i looked over my paperwork , and realized they charged me $4,000.00 more then i agreed to pay for the car. the next morning i went back, the finance manager said that was for the total loss protectin. that was required by the bank for financing. further he refused to give me any paperwork explaining these charges. i have filed a complaint with the attorny general about this and hope to hear from them soon. this dealer need to be shut down. Cons: steel your money more
