I was so impressed with your service I felt I needed to write something. Your website and your advertising make many bold guarantees. When it came time for my wife and I to hire an electrician for various projects on our old-recently purchased home, I interviewed and obtained estimates from many different electricians, including some of the largest most well-respected electrical companies in the DC region. You were the only electrician that provided me with copies o your licensing, registration, and insurance information ( you also provided without me having to ask). As an attorney, I often interact with contractors (including electricians). While your estimate was certainly competitive, I will confess that it was not the low-bid. Nevertheless, I was so impressed after meeting with you that I was confident that your bid would not result in hidden fees unnecessary change orders, or additional costs. I was not disappointed. Always on time, always polite, and most importantly, genuinely interested in the safety and welfare of my family, there is no doubt I will use you for all of my family's future electrical work (and given the age of my home you will be happy to hear that I am sure I will be calling you often). more

One of our neighbors has used Smart Electric and my husband, who is an electrical engineer, had contacted Randy McKeen in the past for some HOA work. So when we needed work done on our home these past few months, we contacted Smart Electric. They were nothing but professional. Lewis arrived on time and quickly found the problem and was able to give a clear solution and at different price points. Our problem was a fire hazard so Lewis worked off-hours arranging for Dominion to come out and replaced our electrical panel. They did so with as little disruption as possible and worked efficiently and neatly. We were so happy with their work that a month later when we needed minor electrical work we had Lewis come back out to pick up what the home inspector had requested. At the same time they also scheduled the final inspection for our panel with the county. It was nice having them final the permit and walk with the inspector as many companies have the homeowner do so. For one of the jobs I had a billing question on and Randy called right away and addressed my questions. I could not believe how great the customer service was. I work in the construction industry and rarely find a company that cares so much about customer satisfaction. We plan to use Smart Electric in our new house and would recommend them to any of our friends. more

The Standby Generator is running its automatic weekly excersie and I would like to take this occasion to thank you once more for recommending and installing this powerful GE 17 KW unit. It has shown to provide with ease the power needed for the entire house, including AC.Furnace, Dryer, Oven, etc. You and your staff did an outstanding job in installing the system. The chosen location of the outside unit is perfect. In connection with so personal design preferences, I really appreciated your outstanding cooperation throughout the project. Randy I want to express my heartfelt thanks regarding the top quality work you performed in replacing my outdated load center circuit panel last week. I couldn't be more pleased with you and the experience! I was impressed for the start of your visit for preparing scoping the work. You called before arriving to confirm the appointment, you arrived punctually, you introduced yourself clearly and then handed me info about you and your company. (e.g.) a copy of your license & insurance policy). As you inspected the old panel you explained what you were finding, you asked about what work I had in mind and then listened carefully to my responses, and you offered options and discussed them. You spoke like someone who deeply knows his subject! You emphasized safety and using top quality products, along the way pointing out that using premium products costs a bit more but that the added cost is a fraction of the total, so it makes sense to use nothing but the best for the added cost is a fraction of the total, so it makes sense to use nothing but the best for the added safety & reliability they can provide. I liked that you said you do the key aspects of the work to a level of quality that's better than the minimum required but Code. Before I retired I worked for the Navy as a submarine design engineer overseeing design upgrades to our submarines. A main focus of my responsibility was ensuring safety and reliability of the upgrades. As you spoke of you views of doing electrical work, it reminded me of myself and highly regarded coworkers and our views towards keeping our subarmines safe and reliable. The parallel was striking! I was completely satisfied with your and every aspect of your work. In the 2 days you worked on my house, you stayed in close touch by email & phone calls prior to your arrival, you were punctual, when I expressed interest in the work you explained what you were doing each steph of the way and why you were doing it that way, and it was not uncommon for you to offer me more options (e.g., "I could do it like this __or like this__. this way might be better because...") you were pleasant 100% of the time, and you were true to your work that you'd be impeccably neat. Every aspect of the installation you made worked well for the start. Interestingly the City Electrical Inspector noticed the better that Code grounding upgrade details that you'd installed and told me he was impressed. Randy I greatly respect your work ethic and your craftsmanship. I've never had a tradesman I've been so completely satisfied with! more

This was my first time using Smart Electric.I had them put in outdoor lighting, install smoke detectors with lithium batteries and install an attic fan with a lifetime warranty. Both the customer service and workmanship are superior. It was a pleasure having Luis Floyd in my home. I would definately recommend them. more

I called smart electric because my wife had been complaining about the outlets in the bathroom turning off at the breaker whenever she blow dried her hair. Lewis came over and almost immediately knew what the problem was after looking at my panel box. He showed me what was wrong and then showed me a lot of different ways to go about making my situation better. I was actually able to choose what I wanted! We ended up having lewis run heavy wires to our plugs in the bathrooms and he also put in gfci protection. more

Overall my experience in working with Smart Electric has been great and I thought they were really nice and professional about everything they did. It was a thorough and detailed service, and although it was expensive it was well worth it and I got an itemized detailed bill at the end explaining why. The outcome was amazing and I couldn't be more satisfied with the job done. I will continue to use them going forward in the future and recommend their services to anybody else in the local area looking for a quality and reliable group of electricians with years of experience.
