This is my favorite restaurants in Horseheads. Food and service is always fantastic. Bartenders Missy and Carrie are the best/. Pros: best crab rangoons Cons: parking

Nicely Done! 12/17/2008

My husband and I have eaten only a few times here - the tapas menu is by far the better choice (vs. the ""show"" over a hot griddle). It's a great place to go to have a few drinks, enjoy some great tapas and relax - the tapas are sized nicely for sharing and if you get three or four and share, it's a meal. New chef too and is dedicated to kicking it up a notch - using fresh ingredients whenever possible. Their specials are a great value too! $3 martinis on Thursday nights! I would definitely recommend this place - and if you go, you must try the crab rangoons - handmade in house! YUM! Pros: Comfortable bar for Tapas - great bartenders Cons: Parking more

Deliscious & Reliable 7/2/2008

My girlfriend and I go there about once a month because the food is so good. So if somebody writes a bad review about this place it's either because they had bad luck one evening, or they have an agenda. We've eaten at all the nicer restaraunts in the Elmira/Corning area and we think its the best hands down. They serve the most deliscious surf and turf around. Each time our food is cooked to perfection. If they have one small shortcoming, they seem to run a little late on their bookings. Fortunately for us, we enjoy sitting at the bar drinking saki while we wait so it doesn't pose a problem. Definitely recommended. Pros: Supreme Food Cons: Parking more

HORRIFYING!!! 6/11/2008

The place was so hot that you did not feel like eating because the sweat was pouring off of you. The food was worse than a cheap Chinese Buffet. The chef and waitresses were downright rude. You could not pay me enough to revisit this place. Pros: the alcohol drinks were good Cons: everything else was awful! more

food's good but the presentation sucked 12/31/2007

A native of the area, i have been here numerous times, though i don't go frequently, but usually the food is the real treat of the place. I have been to other japanese steak houses where they put more into the presentation. This last time, last night, our chef seemed like he was in a real foul mood, splashed our sauses into our little dishes, and did the little knife twirl routine for just a second whereas other places will put on a nice show for you. I was disappointed because there was a couple in our company who've never been to a jap steakhouse and they really missed out. In additon the chef seemed like he was in a real hurry, and our food didn't seem to be cooked fully......it was really a "" ok you eat now get out"" experience. Overall the food was good as usual but i was disappointed on the presentation, and the mood of the chef, and the rushed feeling we all had to eat and get out..........on a quiet sunday night. Pros: food taste, selection of main courses Cons: presentation, waiting more

Fast Food? 9/26/2005

I have been to numerous Japaneese steak houses all over the US as well as Canada and Europe. This one was a big disappointment. The filet mignon was very poor quality and the chef cooked the meal so fast most of the food was under cooked. The 'show' consisted of one trick. He also misjudged portions so I received less than 1/2 the vegetables my wife did. We were not able to select the sushi we wanted, only a predetermined sushi platter is available. Seating is available only at specific times. Cons: Poor show, predetermined sushi, fast food more

Unique for Elmira the area! 7/23/2004

This is definately a hot spot. You are a vegetarian. You are a carnivore. You like seafood. You are all about the sushi. You like fun. There is a lot of action and many food choices here for any of you. People that try this become regulars, we love it! The servers are really great--and the hibachi chefs can really be exciting. Some groups don't appreciate the chefs-- then don't see as much out of them. Jimmy is great! If you want the chefs to be lively, be enlivened--clap, cheer, & appreciate! There is more at Simon's than Hibachi & the Bar. There are SO many food choices on the Tapas side. I love the Tuna Sashimi!! oh--there is no parking behind the restaurant, but a large city lot(free) about 2 stores away. Pros: Hibachi or Tapas, vegetarian OR meaty, great drink specials more
