Don't bother with any other restaurant! 7/27/2011

I was unsure if I wanted to eat here because the outside of the building almost makes it look closed down, but I am glad we stopped! The staff is wonderful, attentive to your every need and very friendly. They serve fast and don't mind answering questions, and seem to have a very faithful following of clientele. We have taken our 3 kids ages 10,11, and 16, and they were welcomed at the sushi bar, asking questions and being made part of the experience. We actually haven't ever been on the restaurant side because the sushi bar side is so good! After ordering and falling in love with the spicy crab salad ( a must have!) we are now addicted to the stuffed mushrooms. The flavors are unlike anything else and a party in your mouth! Be careful when ordering, as the portions are very generous...I was shocked when we got the bill and had spent less than half of what we expected. Well worth the 45 minute drive I make to Lees Summit from south of the city. Don't miss this place. more

Phenomenal 3/20/2010

The first time I ate sushi was in Hawaii. Siki's is defintiely the next best thing! Food is delicious (everytime), great environment and really love this place. Would highly recommend them Pros: The best sushi!! Cons: Negative more

The Best Food Ever!! 3/1/2010

Our family is totally addicted to Siki's. They have the BEST food ever! I especially love the spicy crab salad. It is a staple when you go, so you must order it. I love their salad dressing and always order 2 salads. I asked them If they sold it in bottles. They don't but I think they should! Their crab rangoon is awesome! Everything is fresh and the service is fast and friendly. You can sit at the grill side and watch the chefs cook right in front of you and it's amazing and very entertaining, or you can sit on the sushi side. They also have private rooms which is nice for a meeting or family get-together. Pros: Prices are very reasonable and food is awesome! Cons: Stomach isn't big enough for their portions! more

Best Sushi 9/4/2009

I travel back to see my mother a couple times a year and I could eat here daily. The food is fantastic and the service is wonderful. You will not be dissapointed! I try something new everytime and I have not been let down yet. It is truly the dest sushi place!!!! Pros: spicy crab salad more

Shockingly Great Sushi 8/28/2009

This place looks like your grandmother's living room. (with an Asian twist) Family friendly, with great sushi & VERY reasonable prices. Worth the 20 min. drive from downtown to get quality this good. Pros: Fresh sushi, friendly service Cons: plain more

Spicy Crab Salad!! 3/25/2009

This place has the best spicy crab salad anywhere! They have an awesome lunch box special that has so much food you are stuffed or have left overs. It is only $9.00 and you can get 2 entrees, salad, soup, 1/2 orange, rice, and even a little coffee candy thing.\r \r Compare that to an Applebees type place and you would pay over $12 easy.\r Pros: Great Food, good lunch special Cons: Sometimes picky on their coupons more

Amazing! 3/23/2009

My husband and I have travelled the world over, eating sushi everywhere, from Paris to Bangkok. We LOVE the sushi at Siki! It's consistently fresh. I agree that the spicy crab salad is delicious, and being Thai, I'm not usually a fan of artificial crab. Try the daikon maki. With the daikon wrap and absolutely no rice, it's a fabulous, low carb roll that's light and cool. We've never made to the steakhouse side, because the sushi is so good! more

Best sushi in the KC area. Great service. Fresh as the new day!!! 4/26/2008

My wife and I have eaten sushi in many places from New York to California to Hawaii and this place is 2nd to none. Absolutely fresh and sweet tasting raw fish as well as the other sushi rolls they serve. The presentation is very appealing and their kind and courteous service is indicative of Asian traditional hospitality. The atmosphere is plain, clean and simple so you don't feel like you are paying for the view. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are plenty. If you are bringing your kids or friends who just won't try sushi they serve wonderful cooked at the table Japanese food and the chicken fried rice is unbelievable! I normally don't do these review things but I felt this establishment deserved a lot of applause. You won't be disappointed!!! Pros: Many! Cons: None! more

Great food but go hungry you leave so full 3/28/2008

Portion sizes are huge, enough to share. Salad dressing is the best. They also have great sushi but you have to try the spicy crab salad. Don't forget to get your loyality card and look for coupons on the back of Lee's Summit HyVee restaurants!!! Pros: You can do walk in and go in small groups more

Wasabi! 8/10/2006

Love it, love it, love it. I travel a bit with work and try to eat at different sushi places around the country. I have found a few close but none surpassing the Siki restauraunt in quality of sushi and value. It is a clean modest place in Lee's Summit. Thomas the owner and sushi chef is always friendly and usually busy. I would eat there daily if I could. The place has a good following of regular customers. The Japaneese steakhouse is good for groups but my passion is the sushi which I always order even if I'm with a group in the steakhouse side. It is easy to ring up a large bill eating sushi anywere. To keep costs lower, try the lunch specials of sushi (7 mixed pc with cucumber roll ~$9), sashimi (no rice - 13 mixed pc ~$14), or maki combo (california, tuna and cucumber rolls ~$9.50). All come with soup (onion or miso). The also offer dinner combinations which are a little more expensive. You can order just about everything a-la-carte also. Pros: Sushi and value Cons: not many unless you are looking for a super fancy place more

Summit Atami-Sans! 11/21/2005

""Lee's Summit's Best Kept Secret?"" I agree. In the former SAMBOS and a BBQ(?) building next to Bob Smith Ford, SIKI is a great addition to Lee's Summit's continual growth and culture. I joked 15 years ago,""Will Lee's Summit ever have a JAPANESE Restaurant?"". With LS's redneck meat and potatoes complacency, I speculated Siki would be spurned or go out of business fast. Not at all. It's a nicely decorated space divided in two sections: One for teppanyaki grill tables with expert, acrobatically- inclined chefs; the other, mainly a sushi lover's bar and dinner tables. The service is great. I had 2 polite waitresses and 5 busser/water boys on one visit! Great dumplings and greaseless spring rolls. Best tempura combos I've ever had! Very fresh, creative sushi and sashimi (ask for something extra special!). soothing Saki. Beautiful hostess... like in the movies! Reasonably Priced. $$ ~ $$$ NDD Pros: attentive service, tasty food, great 1st date Cons: location, needs interior work, awkward hours more

Great sushi 4/11/2005

Siki may be Lee's Summit's best kept secret. The nigiri sushi is always fresh and served in generous cuts. The selection is one of the best in the Kansas City area. They offer many good rolls as well. Don't miss the Magic Mushrooms - listed separately from the sushi - a heated roll topped with delicious sauces. Difficult to locate if you are not from the area (take a map), but weekend evenings are always packed with steakhouse and sushi diners. more
