dreadful 4/10/2011

This store does not, by any means, live up to its name, it is more crooked than straight. They blatently lie and misinform their customers regarding their services.They have cheated a close friend out of approximately $1000 for an HK P30, which malfunctioned, after only 20 rounds, almost causing severe injury to the shooter. HK, famous for extremely poor service to its civilian customers, I believe their motto is , ""We just don't care about you"", either refused to replace their 'lemon' of a pistol, or shoot straight never bothered to honor the HK warranty. Either way, Shoot Straight deliberately deceived and cheated one of their loyal regular customers. as with HK,they just don't care about you! Take your business elsewhere. more

Poor Service 4/10/2011

It's terrible to see a store turn it's back on a great past customer when they stop spending tons of cash there. I am all about supporting your local gun shop but when your local gun shop stops supporting you with doing the right thing then it's time to shop else where. This shop has screwed over a good friend and they don't deserve any of your hard earned cash. more

Had a good friend royally screwed over at this place! Avoid them like the plague and take your hard earned cash elsewhere. Mr Akkawi, President of Shoot Straight has called my friend this morning and offered a sincere apology. Shoot straight doesn't 4/10/2011

The way this business treated a customer who spent tens of thousands of dollars at their store is pathetic. Two years Vincent waited for the store to make good on an HK firearm that broke after 21 rounds and two years the store kept putting off Vincent. After Vincent moves away, they tell him to &^$%-off. Over a $1000 gun!. The least they could have done is refunded his money, but no, they kept that too. more

Loyalty is a 2-way street....... 4/10/2011

Apparently, Straight Shooter (HA! That very name is false advertisement, in itself) Tampa does not subscribe to that novel concept in the header since they were jerking Vincent around after he had experienced years of chronic defects with an HK P30 which he purchased from them. This wretched example of the complete absence of loyalty to a customer occurred after: 1) SST had promised to make things right and 2) during a period when SST was hurting for business and Vincent had spent over a $100K in purchases. If you're looking for an honest business who will reciprocate a customers loyalty and stand behind gear purchased at their outlets, look elsewhere because SST has NONE of those admirable traits. more

A stand up guy 4/10/2011

Vincent Savage is one of the most stand up guys I have ever known. For him to even say something negative about someone publicly. much less post it in a forum like this, speaks volumes about the poor quality of service that ""Shoot Straight"" provides. Definitely one of my new places to avoid. Mr Akkawi , President of Shoot Straight has contacted Mr Savage personally and has offered him a new pistol and an sincere apology. Unfortunately his Tampa crew were dealing with HK and HK was trying to reneg. on a promise made. A satisfactory solution and outcome has been found. Mr. Savage has made it a point to contact those of us who posted negative reviews and asked us to add the above comment. To me this just confirms the opening line of my review. Vincent truly is a stand up guy! more

Very Unprofessional Service (UPDATE!) 4/10/2011

Well, it seems that after all the recent negative reviews Mr Akkawi, President of SS, was made aware of this issue and he proceeded to contact MR Savage immediately in order to finally make things right. Mr Savage will be getting a pistol back and is pleased with the outcome. Two years later though!!! more

NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!! 4/10/2011

An associate of mine was treated like absolute dog crap by this business in regards to firearms repair. His firearm was defective and was duly returned to the store for repair, this store sends him a letter stating the manufacturer had authorized a replacement pistol for my associate. Fast forward two years..... The pistol was never replaced or repaired and the business pretty much told my friend to ""F off, we wont help you."" I will never do business with people like that and hope nobody else will. I am very surprised that nobody else has not taken legal action against this company and I pray and hope that this company Shoot Straight Tampa runs itself into the ground and finally realizes their dreadful misdeeds..... more

Best to avoid 4/10/2011

I have two issues with this store. Several years ago, they arranged to ship several firearms to me. It was a comedy of errors on their end, the items arrived very late, nobody could find a tracking number or verify they'd been shipped, clearly from the tracking information I found after the fact they'd shipped late and the store was trying to avoid 'fessing up to the problem. The second issue is how they've treated Mr. Savage. I've done business with Savage for years now, and he's always been completely trustworthy and above-board. Apparently Shoot Straight is less so. They need to get him his gun back, after two years of stonewalling, and make this right. Frankly, Savage has been more than patient and reasonable - I would have brought the local police and the BATF into this by now, since in essence his firearm has been stolen... There are enough other honest businesses out there that I'd encourage folks to take their trade elsewhere, until Shoot Straight cleans up their act. more
