I own a electronic service company and this company absolutely impressed me. I called all over Tamps because I have a very sophisticated system. Most companies would not service my 20 year old geo-thermal system but did recommend Shiver Air. I was impressed that other shops would recommend someone else. Robert Shiver arrived on time, trouble shot the system that had multiple capacitors out of spec which he showed me on his meter (he also tested the new capacitors to show me the correct readings).after that he knew the correct pressures my system required and decreased the air conditioned vent temperature from 60 degrees to 50 degrees. (I keep a thermometer inside my vent). Robert discussed the options I have if I need to replace the system and quoted a very reasonable replacement cost which I had already received other quotes on. After a few hours I received a phone call from Shiver Air to check on the service. It has been a few days now with temperatures in the mid 90?s and my system is working as well as it was when it was brand new. I've been using Shiver air for at least 8 yerars and have turned all my friends and neighbors on to them. I find their service to be very good and the pricing is very reasonable compared to other companies in the area. Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely competent. more

Recently, our A/C system went out. We've lived in our house for about 4 years now, and the a/c was installed about 2 years prior to us moving in. We called Scotts A/C. When they came out, they diagnosed the problem to be a bad compressor, which is the heart of the A/C. Told us that we should replace the entire system, and quoted us a price of nearly 5500 dollars. I wanted a second openion, and my neighbor gave me the number of the company she uses, which was Shiver Air. I called, and the next day, a service tech arrived. He quickly diagnosed the problem as bad connectors on the compressor and another part, called a capasitor. He changed the connectors and the bad capasitor, and boom, its working perfectly! The bill came out to be nearly 400 dollars, but the honesty is well worth the cost. They saved me 5100 dollars! I highly Recommend them! Pros: Extremely Honest. more

The guy who answered our routine maintenance call was the first Southern man I have ever encountered who was not a gentleman. He made sarcastic comments on the service report ""I recommend replacing the air filter more than once a year"" (I replace it every MONTH thank you due to allergies!), and another one was ""I RELUCTANTLY cleaned the coil"" Um...isn't that what we hired you to do? The job was done well, but I could do without the ""I'm doing you a big favor"" and snotty comments. Pros: it's running now Cons: bad attitude more
