Nice place, good location, but overpriced. Being a ""Jewish"" Deli does not mean you can charge $10 for a pound of flour cooked in chix fat, then claim your inexpensive!

A REAL JEWISH STYLE DELI IN THE DESERT? A MIRAGE OR FOR REAL? 1/10/2009

I grew up in Philly and New York. Need I say more. Oh, yeh, I'm a Jewish. Like many restaurants, ""good"" depends on what you order. If you've had smoked fishes from Zabar's, Barney Greengrass, etc., you'll want your money back after eating Sherman's Nova, Baked Salmon, etc. If you want a fairly good Pastrami, Corned Beef or Salami, you'll be in good shape. Only major complaint is their rye bread. I've eaten their a couple of dozens times and each time I ordered a sandwich it tastes like yesterday's rye. Speaking of which...the best Rye bread on the planet can be found at LANGER'S in down town L.A. Pros: Only Jewish deli within 150 miles. Cons: Only Jewish deli within 150 miles. more

THE BEST Reuben sandwich, beef brisket, rye bread, carrot cake, the list goes on! 11/5/2008

Get the word out - THE BEST deli ever is in Palm Springs. I live only 2 blocks from the famous Junior's Deli in L.A. - I would drive an hour and a half to go get ANY sandwich at Sherman's before I go to Junior's for the same. It's THAT good! Prices are not out of this world but the quality of every item we had at that table (there were three of us and we ate there twice) was excellent. Beef brisket sandwich-excellent, Reuben sandwich with pastrami-excellent, french toast and bacon (thick, tasty, slightly sweet, not overly oily slices), carrot cake to die for (not sickeningly sweet), cole slaw (yum! almost as good as Felipe's), lovely fried potatoes, breakfast potatoes and fries (crispy on the outside, not overly oily), vegetable omelette with bacon (huge and tasty). Generous portions! The service was super fast, super friendly and super honest. Parking was not a problem, though we could have walked there from several hotels in the area, and it's only a couple of blocks from the main drag. If you're in the Palm Springs area this place is NOT to be missed - breakfast is excellent, hardly any wait. Lunch gets a bit busy but still a reasonable and comfortable waiting time with complimentary coffee. more

good service, nice food, but over priced! 2/11/2008

better than average deli 8/9/2004

the usual great or jewish deli menu. Some things are better than others. Salads are a little weak. Sandwiches are of healthy size. Desserts are the usual 15 foot high deli creations. Good for the price and convenience. Pros: price, portions more
