We used this company last week for a short move between two towns in northern NJ. It was a disaster. At first they sent their agent (owner?) over to our old home to investigate. He then formulate a number which was not an (which we originally asked for) but a ""firm, flat price."" On moving day the business sent over what looked like three middle school students, who then went about taking SEVEN hours packing and moving our possessions into their truck. \r
\r
Before leaving for our new home, and with the day almost done, one of the movers informs us that we must come up with an additional $500 in cash, then and there. We asked what would happen if we could not; he replied ""then we will take your things and put it into storage until you come up with the money."" To us, this was extortion, pure and simple. We immediately called the local police. \r
\r
The police said that they could not do much, and that it was largely a civil manner, but the officer negotiated with the owner anyway. He got the owner down to $270, which we unhappily came up with. \r
\r
But it got worse. Shelli Van Lines took hours to move and reassemble our furniture. The movers then proceeded to break several valuable items, namely a laser printer and a century old mirrored cabinet (which was a family heirloom). \r
\r
Please avoid this company at all costs. They are criminals and extortionists, and that's putting it lightly.
