Honestly, I have moved a lot of times and I have never had a move go as smoothly as this one! Everyone was just so nice and helpful! They are a small enough company that when you call you will always get a live person straight away! I am so used to machines answering the phone and telling me to press 1 for this and 2 for that. What a breath of fresh air. the girl i dealt with was fantastic and so knowledgable. it really put me at ease from the beginning. i called a few other 'irish' moving companies but they were just subpar compared to Shamrock. The guys came out to my house and were so friendly and they just knew what they were doing. They wrapped everything so well before they moved it and I have never seen anything like how they packed the truck. it was like a game of tetris!!! Amazing... They moved so quickly and efficiently. The foreman directed his crew and just handled everything really well. i have already spread the word about Shamrock to everyone I know but i figure i would reach more people this way to let them know that no one is better than these guys!!! more

My friend recommended this company to me and judging by how hard I have had it in the past when it came to movers I was sceptical that these guys would be much better..... Thankfully I was very wrong.... I rang their office to book for someone to come out to my place and view my stuff...I have done the over the phone stuff before and it is never accurate. I figured getting a written quote would be more full proof. The girl I spoke to on the phone had a great Irish accent and was so pleasant and helpful I already started to feel at ease.... The General Manager, Bobby, came out to view my place and he was courteous, professional and really friendly.....my shoulders are relaxing a bit more.... I still wanted to be price conscious so I had gotten 3 other estimates and Shamrock's price was pretty competitive... I booked my move with them and got a really efficient follow up call detailing everything that was involved with the move and also got an email which confirmed everything to me....everyone really impressed me with their professionalism. Then the fateful day arrived and I could not believe the level of service I received. Second to none and so efficient the guys were friendly smart and capable. As anyone that has moved before knows it is one of the most stressful things to undertake and these guys just really blew me away with the service they provided. Fantastic. more

Shamrock helped me move on two days notice and they did a fantastic job. Well worth it and I would use them again without hesitation. This may be an important consideration -- they moved a console sized piano a total of 20 or so steps without extra cost. Price is by the hour. I priced out a UHaul rental and the downsides were many. Commute time to pickup and dropoff the truck; additional price of insurance; extra price for furniture pads, dollies, cling wrap, etc. While it would have been cheaper, Shamrock was much more efficient. Shamrock loaded all the furniture and large, awkward stuff from my girlfriend's studio apartment in an hour's time. Then they drove to my place to grab the few items of furniture I have. At our new place, it took an hour to unload everything. With drive time, the move was three hours. It would have taken the two of us at least twice as long. Not to mention the arguments between the two of us as we inevitably would have banged our furniture and scrapped our new walls and door frames while laboring and sweating for hours. Jessica arranged everything on the phone and told me all the insider info to consider (like arranging a parking permit for the truck). Ian and Chris were the load crew. They were extremely considerate to our no-doubt flustered attempts to help and unphased by our harried state. They were efficient, perfectly careful with our belongings and affable, fun guys. more

Gave me a quote over the phone for a move from Southern CA to northern CA and loading and unloading went great.\r \r By some odd chance, were a no show for delivery at the stated delivery time, but I believe it was a rare, random chance that this misunderstanding occurred. Were proactive and responsive in addressing the mix up to the extent possible. I would consider moving with Shamrock again because the known devil is better than the unknown, this company is at its worst, a reasonable mover.\r \r Good customer service and responsive and timely. more

Have used them 3 times now. Always very efficient, courteous and careful with my furniture. When they packed my things last year for storage, everything was wrapped carefully so nothing was scratched. Then this year when I moved they unwrapped and placed things exactly where I wanted them. From the moment I spoke to Shamrock's representative, Jessica, by phone to arrange the move one week ago, everything went smoothly. The two movers, Jesus and Elvin, arrived promptly, were courteous, EXTREMELY hard-working, and careful with my often bulky and heavy furniture. I can't express enough how grateful I felt to be working with the two of them. They did everything with efficiency and good humor. The job was to have taken about 4 hours but went over (my fault with so much junk!). Originally, I was advised to use Starving Students but, when I saw the terrible reviews, decided against them and found Shamrock listed. Shamrock had no bad reviews in the past 1 1/2 years. I had used them about 15 years ago to move a sofa from SF to Oakland and they were good but hadn't thought of using them for a bigger move until I saw the rating (A+). I couldn't be more pleased; the movers were absolutely THE BEST. I have used several other movers in the past but Shamrock is really the way to go if you want to eliminate the headaches and have a pleasurable moving experience. I've gotta admit, I have been severely disappointed by the general poor level of customer service I've received from almost any retail & service industry of late in America. That being said, I couldn't have been more happy with Shamrock Moving & Storage. They moved us from San Francisco to Walnut Creek in about 6 hours. The guys that moved us were thorough, very nice, & did not stop! I was impressed & didn't realize one human being could lift a dresser up a flight of stairs. If only all of my business transactions could be this simple & pain-free. The final cost was slightly more expensive than the estimate, but that was only because I underestimated how much junk I actually had stored up over the years. I would totally use their services again & recommend them to anyone! \r \r Thanks. \r \r P.S. I don't understand why some reviewers had the same experience as me & only gave them 4 stars. At least explain how they could have done better to get that extra star. What, did they have to fly & move you for free? the movers showed up on time (actually about 15min early), hussled with the move but took the time to wrap fragile belongings (glass tables, etc.). They did the work carefully, placed the boxes and furniture as instructed. \r \r No complaints at all, much better than expected. Recommend highly to all. more

The movers did a great job and were very professional. You could tell that they had been in the moving industry a long time. We had a very large move so it wasn't an easy undertaking but it couldnt have gone better than it did. Really happy with the service I received. Definitely the best movers I have ever used. I had shopped around for a moving company before I picked Shamrock based on their initial customer service. It is so nice to call a company and have someone be as pleasant and helpful as they were on the phone. It is a lost art....\r \r When they came to move me this past weekend my doorbell on exactly the dot of 8am when they said they would arrive. The guys that moved me were at the headline reads: AWESOME! Totally made everything super easy for me and the SPEED! Insane! \r \r Thanks so much Shamrock for making my weekend a happy one! The movers were slow and lazy. I carried a lot of the boxes myself since I was in a hurry to have the move completed.\r \r The movers scuffed up the paint in my new residence by banging boxes and furniture against the walls. I had to go to home depot and buy paint to touch up the scrapes and marks. \r \r To add insult to injury, the mover tried to overcharge me and argued with me over the amount until I multiplied the hourly rate by the hours spent moving, on a calculator. The mover did acknowledge that he was not very good in math.\r \r Bad job all around. \r \r The owner, Bobby, will try to pacify you with a free lunch or dinner somewhere, after the fact.\r \r The point is, if you want a quality job, take your business to somebody else. We recently used these people to do a move and I was very happy with the service. Once everything was scheduled they came out and took care of everything. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I would use them again. more

My father died last May leaving me with the task of packing and shipping several large antiques [plus lotsa little stuff] to myself in Phoenix and my sister in Seattle. After querying several movers, I chose Shamrock because they said they could do it all -- from building custom made crates for the biggest and most fragile items to extracting the largest piece [an 11'6"" long antique buffet] through a window from my father's 2d story apartment with a crane. Moreover, Shamrock said they'd provide a two crews plus separate trucks for each destination. The Shamrock packers arrived exactly as scheduled early in the morning. By evening everything had been carefully crated or packed, had been carried down to the street from the apartment, and was loaded on the trucks. Then both trucks arrived at their destinations exactly when Shamrock said they would, and the unpacking went as smoothly as the packing had. [Not one single item was damaged during this move!] It's also worth noting that Shamrock provided me with an estimate of the cost before I contracted with them, and that estimate was what I was charged... not a penny more. In short, based on our experience with them, if you have a difficult or no-notice move that must happen quickly, or you have delicate, valuable items that require special handling, Shamrock has the expertise to get the job done for you. I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for making my move from San Francisco to Sausalito as easy as possible. Your team arrived on time and did a great job of putting down carpet protection and shrink-wrapping items so that they arrived intact at their destination. Everyone worked hard to complete the job on time and I had a lot of stairs to cover which made it even more of a challenge. The team of movers were all really helpful and friendly, especially Bill who went out of his way to make things go smoothly.
