I've taken items to Sew Special Custom Tailors several times, and I have not yet been disappointed. They are extremely easy to work with, and do a fantastic job even with rush orders. They perfectly tailored a bridesmaid dress around my 8 months pregnant belly so it looked like a custom dress. I would recommend them to anyone! Pros: Quality work, reasonable prices more

Really good, professional help with selecting the right cut/fit for my prom dress! I brought in a picture of it and they made it EXACTLY like what I wanted, for cheaper :) Lots of color choices, really sweet staff, and quick [it was done in about 3 weeks!]. The dress turned out perfect, and the tailors made a few adjustments that made it fit really well! Totally recommend getting your dress made here! I have had Sew Special Custom Tailors do several projects for me in the past few months, and it has been by far the best custom tailoring work I have ever received! They go out of their way to make sure the work is done right and to my satisfaction, and their prices are very reasonable. I would recommend them without hesitation for all tailoring needs. They also offer services to re-cover chairs, create custom cushions, etc. Because of the great work they did for me tailoring clothes, I decided to have them recover four chair seats and make a window seat cushion. This is definitely my go-to place for tailoring. Whether it is a simple hem adjustment, minor repair or a complete overhaul and resizing of a tailored jacket, Sew Special does wonderful work. I no longer even bother to try the garment on when I pick it up---their work has been 100% every time. They have resized multiple garments for me (significant weight loss), tailored new purchases for perfect fit, and repaired treasured garments. Pros: Excellent results Cons: None come to mine. more

I lost 50lbs in the last year and have managed to maintain my weight. Also changed jobs and have to wear suit or sport coat daily. Mike and the staff at Sew Special have done a remarkable job ""saving"" my old wardrobe and custom tailoring inexpensive clothes purchased at consignment or Marshall's/TJMaxx. Everything I have brought to Sew Special has been done perfectly and expertly. No corners cut here (no pun intended) and the attention to detail and personal preferences is superb. Mike and his mother will offer their opinion, whether you like it or not. The advice is usually right on the money. In this economy, saving or recycling old clothes as opposed to buying new is more important than ever. Every dollar spent here is well worth it as you can't put a price on how good you feel when you look good and your clothes fit right. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Pros: Excellent personalized service. Brought in a pair of pants that the hem had come out of - just needed to be re-hemmed in the SAME SPOT. They go ahead and LENGTHEN the pants by 1.5 inches for no reason and when I request that they return the hem to the original place, they then go ahead and SHORTEN the things! Should have been a simple request but now I am out $15 and 3 trips to that stupid place, had to undo the hem myself so I can bring them elsewhere to have the job done right - seriously?! Pros: Good if you are looking to waste time Cons: Don't seem to want to hem things the way you request more

Mike and his family were just wonderful. They took a wedding dress that was 4 sizes too big, redesigned it completely, fitted it to my body and did this all in the planned time-frame. They redesigned the dress from an A-line to a mermaid design. They made a goregous bustle at the back. They also made a collar with a bow as a little extra for my cat who will be in the wedding ceremony. If you're a bride-to-be with a dress that needs substantial changes - these guys were fantastic. I had shopped around for a tailor and many of the other tailors who were rated highly were not prepared to take on the challenge of redesigning and resizing my wedding dress. The staff and owners of this business are great. They made a beautiful dress for me out of thin air! Actually, the made it with a lot of silk chiffon and hard work. They had me come in for multiple fittings and even though they were always busy they made sure to give me personal attention each time I came in. If you want a beautifully made dress and much attention to detail you should go to Sew Special, but you should also expect to be a little patient. they made me happy and gave me what i wanted, i came in and had a idea of how i wanted my dress to be made and i gave them my idea and they did it for me and my dress turned out to be beautiful and i really like it its just they way i wanted it. I will NEVER go back to this place again!! They ruined two very expensive jackets! The woman took the wrong measurements and despite my bringing this to her attention, proceeded to use those wrong measurements. I came back a week later to pick up my jackets and they were EXTREMELY tight on me. I could not lift my arms at all! They blamed me for not knowing how to WEAR a jacket... According to them, they a completely blameless and it is my fault they made a mistake... oh wait, they didn't make a mistake at all! I was still required to pay for these items of clothing. I have no idea whether these garments are salvageable, but you can bet I'm not going back there to get them re-done! I think I'll try place where the owners actually speak English and behave in a professional manner. Cons: Rude uncaring staff only concerned about making $$$$ more

I had two suits significantly altered by Sew special and they did a great job. One two piece and one three piece. They now fit and are perfectly tailored to my body. The service there was responsive and quick to alter pieces to my liking after the work was completed and I came in for my fittings. The staff here cares about their craft and creating pieces that look good on their customers. I have already gone back a second time to have 2 shirts refitted. I have used sew special on many occasions and have had the same problem several times, In addition to being expensive to begin with, is they will charging you to correct a job they did wrong. If you are unhappy with the fit, you will pay again and again for every seam. Thus turing a $45 job, into a $75 job. I brought a dress into to be restyled . When I picked it up was unwearable because the armholes were so loose you could see my entire chest, They insisted on charging me more to add the extra seams. This has happened on several occasions, but the way I was treated was the last straw. When I told him it was unfair, he basically said my business was of no importance to him--very arrogant. I have spent exactly $2,417.00 over the past year there and am not a complainer. I feel the owner has no appreciation for his customers. Beware, he will also push you to write a review for him right away. I caution you to wait until you have had several experiences there. He actually berated me for not giving him a review on several occasions. Well here it is Mike,,,,I am very disappointed in their underhanded and money grubbing practices. Also, do not use them if getting an item back on time is important to you. They were late with my orders at least 50% of the time. I think their work was good, but it is not that hard to find a tailor who can do the job and not try and rip you off and insult you!!! Well i've been trying to find an occasion dress for this big event i had and ive been going everywhere just to find a simple black dress but i couldn't find a right one that i liked. everywhere i went they told me i couldn't order a dress because it was too late. At the end i decided to come to sew special and see what they would tell me if they would make me a dress. i had three weeks and they told me they can. what a relief. that same day they took my measurements and told me to come the following week. I had a wonderful time there. Pleasant people. Very nice and at the end I got a wonderful beautiful black dress just the way i wanted it just in time for the event i had. Thank you! more
