Service Tex

We've used Service Tex for 3 or 4 visits now, getting Andrew as a tech. He's awesome accurate, and describes his finding thoroughly so you know you are now getting ripped off. He's a ethical person and a great tech. Would highly recommend him. I've had minor issue with the office, but he said it was a new person, so hopefully that will be corrected as I call them again today. more

I AM FORCED TO GIVE A STAR BUT I WOULD GIVE A NEGATIVE STARS IF THIS WAS POSSIBLE. This company was assigned to us due to home warranty. My AC had a freon leak (discovered by our regular maintenance company) but the service tex technician couldn't discover this by himself. He merely measured the pressure on the unit outside and concluded the freon was not low. However I had to ask him to do a leak check on the coil unit in the attic. Only then after doing the leak check did he admit there was a leak. Also he did not have a receipt book, so there was no paper work he could give me for my records. more

I had ServiceTex assigned to my home by a home warranty company similar to one of the other reviewers. I'm a big proponent of looking online to see a service company's past reviews to get an idea of what kind of service I should expect when dealing with them myself. After looking up ServiceTex I was a little anxious about having them out to my home. There weren't a tremendous amount of positive reviews, but I am also aware that most reviewers are far more likely to post a negative review about a bad experience than a positive review about a good one. That being said, my personal experience with ServiceTex was a great one. They called the morning of my appointment to let me know they were on their way, and then surprised me by showing up more or less exactly when they said they would. Andrew introduced himself and the service tech who was with him and then immediately set about to diagnose the problem. While my issue was a fairly minor one, I was still impressed that they were able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly without constantly coming in to make sure I was getting a play-by-play. They just got the work done quickly and efficiently. Another thing I usually worry about when dealing with service companies in general, but especially with HVAC service companies is the fear of the sales pitch after your service. My home warranty provider has sent companies out for service before who basically spent their whole time trying to sell me a new unit rather than performing the service they were being paid for. Andrew took the time to tell me the benefits of a better unit, but did not go into a hard sales pitch trying to force me to buy a new unit from him. Overall the experience was pleasant and professional. The work was done quickly without messing up my house. And most importantly the work that needed to be done was done without trying to up sell me on products or services I didn't need. more

Their agent charged for a ""state-code"" required float switch that did not need to be installed, and when I challenged Natahniel, he said ""you were bitching about the A/C, and we did the work we said we would."" I would avoid these guys, but unfortunately my HOA signed an agreement for the entire building. more

Reference the Better Busines Bureau and Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation before doing business with ServiceTex, this company has multiple complaints filed and has been fined for their violations. ""Respondent intentionally or knowingly misrepresented the necessity for services to be provided on two occasions; Respondent failed to maintain insurance requirements for two separate years."" more

Service Tex was contracted via my home warranty company. They ARE BY FAR the best a/c service company I have dealt with since purchasing my home, which Ive had 2 other companies come out who I REFUSE to do business ever again. They contacted me same day, came out as scheduled, Andrew took his time checking my a/c system and providing an accurate diagnosis. The office personnel were on top of contacting me informing me of things my warranty company WOULDNT. They even called when there was a problem w/ the warranty company for lack of payment. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY HIGHLY! Thank you service tex for personable timely and caring service. Pros: VERY timely; communication was awesome more

I waited 4 days for this company to come out and fix my a/c while i sufferred in the heat, when they finally arrived they looked at my a/c for a total of 5 minutes, then Andrew spent the next 40 minutes bad mouthing a company that i used before. He told me I needed to contact the company that worked on it before and he could do nothing to help me. I was furious and told him to leave my home. I did call the other company who came out the same day and within 15 minutes had my a/c cooling again. \r I would like to warn everybody that has a a/c problem to not use this company because all they want to do is come out and blame the problem on someone else, collect the service fee and leave.\r In my oponion they do not belong in good people's homes conducting business. I just thought I should write a good review since I saw the other terrible ones. We have had service tex assigned to us 3 times in the past year and they are the only company we have been satisfied with. They are always very nice and professional and get the problem solved efficiently. Maybe the company has gotten better in the couple years since the other reviews, but I thought they were great! more
