Can't believe this is a buisiness! 3/28/2009

Totally ripped me off, lied to me, belittled me.\r \r Laptop is still broken and I'm out nearly 200 bucks.\r \r Most of the reviews on here suggest that they're thieves and liars. This does a diservice to the good names of thieves and liars.\r \r Pros: No pros, they're amatures at best Cons: Every transaction with them is a con more

Installed old parts 3/27/2009

I asked for a new DVD drive and a new battery. Got home and discovered the DVD drive was old and worn. When called, owner tried to deny the drive was used. Later admitted it was used but claimed I needed to ask for a new one when I ""asked for a new one."" The battery I bought also turned out to be used, lasting only a few months.\r \r Imagine getting your car fixed and being told you should have asked for new parts! Cons: Not honest more

Never Go Here 1/21/2008

Not helpful at all. I was hesitant to take my laptop somewhere in the first place as I never understand the tech lingo and am always made to feel stupid. Seattle Laptop confirmed my feelings. They were rude, short, and wouldn't even turn on my computer to look at the problem. I would not recommend them. \r \r Pros: nothing Cons: rude, unhelpful and belittling more

I Agree with Review Above. ""Thieves, plain and simple"" Their Turn around (they say 8-12 days) it took them 2 weeks to just tell me the problem with my Toshiba laptop, and the cost $$$ and told me that it'll be ready in 3 days. Guess What?? add another 2 weeks because they were out of hard drives. I wish i could just sit/ place a sign in front of their store to tell ppl. NOT TO GO IN THERE. Cons: TOO MANY TO WRITE HERE more

Thieves, plain and simple 11/9/2007

Whatever you do, do NOT take your business to this shop. They are deceitful, lazy and crooks. How dare the owner post here with 5 stars. Give me a break! more

Fantastic laptop service 10/16/2007

I have used Seattle Laptop for years. They consistently work miracles on my laptops. They are fabulous, no matter what the problem, they come thru. I count on them to get me out of pinches regularly (too regularly it seems) for my business. They are able to pull data off a dead drive when I think all is lost. Couldn't exist without them.\r \r Pros: Great service, quick turn around (with express service), helpful staff more

Really great service! 9/29/2007

Yesterday, my 17"" hp laptop died when the power connector shorted out and smoke and brief sparks flew! Since my entire business is conducted on this machine, I was desperate to get it repaired and back in operation as soon as possible, so I took it to Seattle Laptop this morning. While their usual repair turnaround is 7-10 days, they understood my situation, agreed to get it back in 1-3 days, or sooner. Even though I brought it in on a Saturday (when most businesses aren't even open) they got it repaired and ready for me the same day! What more could one ask for? In addition to repairing the power jack, they replaced a cracked screen frame, and improved the touch-pad responsiveness. I also appreciated the pleasant communications from their service rep, Don. I felt the price was more than reasonable, especially considering the ultra-fast service. Great job, guys! Pros: Down to earth communications Cons: Not located nearer to my office... more

Daniel Wagoner - Owner of Seattle Laptop - 30,000 Satisfied Customers! 7/24/2007

I am Daniel Wagoner, and I own Seattle Laptop. In 11 years of doing business we have serviced over 30,000 laptops. We have not had one single legitimate complaint to the organization that tracks businesses that I can't mention here. \r \r I will admit that in the course of doing business mistakes can happen, but we do our best to make customers aware of all aspects of repairing their laptop problems. Quite often a laptop is not repairable for a price that makes sense, or quality parts are not available. If we do make a mistake, I am known to be reasonable, and have never had a problem making things right. \r \r I feel I must respond to some of the claims below by anonymous people. I am not sure if these were actual customers, or my competitors trying to tarnish our well known reputation. \r \r I do recall one customer that wanted us to back up data, and then install Windows. The repair form the customer filled out did mention doing data, and my employee did mistakenly reload Windows without backing up. We did miss one, but as far as I know, it has only been one customer in 11 years that this happened to. Believe me I was as upset as the customer, because this is inexcusable. The repair instructions were vague but they did mention doing data, and the technician should have called the customer to verify exactly what they wanted.\r \r As far as the powerjack complaint by flower girl, it just doesn't add up. If the powerjack was not repairable, we would not have charged her. No one would be able to tell if we opened the laptop or not, because we are professionals, and do not mark up the case like others do. Sounds fishy.\r \r If the person calling himself techstar was unhappy, I am sure he would have called us (me). We don't charge more than the authorized amount, and any employee that would ever be rude to customers would be terminated. Unhappy customers get transferred to me, and I get few complaints. \r \r Just think 30,000 laptops, hard to imagine isn't it? Thank You. Pros: Expert Staff Unmatched Anywhere Parts In Stock Batteries Adaptors Etc. Cons: Sometimes We Get Very Busy more

they're not so bad 5/21/2007

i bought a laptop battery from them.\r \r they seemed nice enough and the battery works just fine.\r \r what more do you need?\r \r more

They erased all of my data!! 4/6/2007

I went to Seattle Laptop in order to save some data from my computer. I agreed to pay the extra charge for a three day turn around. Five days later I received a phone call that my computer was ready. When I went in to pick it up I learned that they had not even attempted to recover my data and had simply reinstalled Windows, permanently erasing everything! Avoid taking your computer to Seattle Laptop. They are rude and incompetent. more

Three weeks, $130 dollars and they never actually looked at it. 7/10/2006

I took my laptop in to have the power hookup replaced. They had it for three weeks and then told me it was ""Not Repairable"" and charged me $120.00 and tax for ""trying to fix it"". I went to another shop and they fixed in 2 days for $150, and told me it had never been opened for an attempted repair. I have called the attorney general. If you want to get treated like your stupid and get screwed over, go to Seattle Laptop. Pros: There aren't any Pros Cons: A bunch of liars and thieves more

Incompetence meets laziness. 3/27/2006

The staff are know nothing know it alls, patronizing and genuinely clueless. They were point-blank rude to me when I called them to find out the status of a simple repair. The job, for which I was over charged, took much longer than they promised and my laptop is still broken. I couldnt recommend anywhere less.\r \r I'd like to respond to the bizzare comments posted by the owner and directed at me:\r \r ""If the person calling himself techstar was unhappy, I am sure he would have called us (me). We don't charge more than the authorized amount, and any employee that would ever be rude to customers would be terminated. Unhappy customers get transferred to me""\r \r I did call you, several times, explaining (over and over again) what I wanted you to do and trying to stop you from selling me unnessecarry components. \r You absolutley did charge me more than the estimate and it was you, Dan, who was very rude to me when I picked up the machine. I also sent you an email when the machine failed to boot up to which you did not respond. Cons: Overcharging, Rude, Incompetent more
