I fully agree with this review.
"Scripps may be a wonderful medical system but their billing department is incredibly incompetent. I have been under the care of many Scripps physicians and have been a patient in their hospital and ER. I have no complaints with the medical staff. I have, however, received numerous erroneous bills from their billing department and had to call to correct errors. The errors are usually not corrected on the first, second or third calls and some errors have taken as long as a year to correct. It's infuriating and finally was the reason I left the Scripps system. There aren't enough hours in the day to correct their billing errors."
This has happened to me EVERY time I've been to Scripps (La Jolla). I have received good treatment, so far so good, but then the billing nightmare begins; months and months of billing errors, they will send you bills in your name to your home, instead of billing your insurance company as agreed upon, and no matter how many times you try to call them & correct them, it will just keep on going for months & months.
last time i went there was 5 months ago, and I'm still spending (a lot of) my time trying to get a hold of people so I can correct their incorrect bills that still keep on coming in, correcting them for the 5 billionth time to no use
last bill I received a couple of days ago, saying
"our records indicate that you do not have insurance coverage. if this is an error, please contact our office with your insurance information. thank you"
and this after time and time again calling them and leaving my insurance information, & they tell me that they will bill my insurance company ,, sigh,,,
I will never ever go to a Scripps again, for sure.
