Wonderful Vet 6/6/2012

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Dr. Kus for many years. He has always been incredibly caring with all my pets, especially my special needs kitty Fast Eddie. Dr. Kus also keeps very updated on research in his field in order to best diagnose difficult problems as well as to be very informative. I have recommended him to many friends and have no reservations giving him a five star rating. more

Dr. Kus is the Best! 5/28/2012

We have been taking our dog to Dr. Kus for years. He used to be in San Carlos and we followed him to Santee because he is the best, most caring, and resourceful vet we have ever had the pleasure of going to. \r \r Exactly one year ago, our then 16 year old shih tzu started having kidney problems along with other ailments that impact older dogs.Knowing how much our dog means to us, Dr. Kus tried everything to get our pet well again. He came up with a combination of fluids and diet change -- it worked! Our dog recovered and he is still thriving a year later, at almost 18 years old! Another vet had even told us to put our dog to sleep because he couldn't (or wouldn't take the time to) find a remedy. Thankfully, we were under the care of Dr. Kus. He is our hero for saving our dog's life! \r \r We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful, intelligent, and helpful doctor for their family member! He earns an A+. more

Dr. Kus is the BEST! 4/15/2011

I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Kus. I have taken my Pit Bull to over 10 vets in San Diego and he is the first vet to properly diagnose her. \r \r I love Dr. Kus because he genuinely cares about my pets. Dr. Kus is very conservative in their treatment. Other vets would push surgeries, treatments and medications when there may be less expensive/less painful options. Dr. Kus isn't pushy and truly wants the best for your pets. \r \r Dr. Kus is also excellent with cats. We have cats that are not super easy to handle and Dr. Kus is very good with them. It's never fun to go to the Vet, but if you do have to go, at least Dr. Kus is there. more

We really had a great experience when we went to visit Dr.Zeica sorry to hear the sad news of him passing on.\r My daughter recommended him to us and our pets loved him.\r Very reasonable and very friendly service.\r We will really miss him, our deepest sympathy goes out to his family.\r I have heard nothing but good things about Stanley Kus the new Doctor.\r Looking forward to meeting him in the near future more

Dr. Kus is a very knowledgeable, caring and gentle vet. My pets could not have received better care anywhere. I recently moved quite a distance from his practice, but I will happily drive the 60 miles. more

I was so glad to locate Dr. Kuz when he moved to Santee Pet Hospital. My dog can't wait to enter the office & easily goes with Dr. Kuz and/or another staff member for exams, shots, etc. Last year she contracted a life threatening immune disease. I tribute her recovery to Dr. Kuz' excellent care, as well as his knowledge & experience. In addition, he explains things in laymen's terms so I can understand exactly what is going on with my pet & he is extremely patient when answering questions I may have. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kuz to anyone seeking the best care for their pet. more

Dr. Stan Kus now at Santee Pet Hospital! 1/9/2011

My condolences to Dr.Zeicu's family.\r \r Dr. Stan Kus is now seeing patients at Santee Pet Hospital!\r \r I have used Dr. Kus for many pets over the course of many years. I will happily follow him to any veterinary hospital he chooses. He is an excellent vet who stays current w recent developments in veterinary medicine. He is very intelligent, but can break things down easily to explain to us non-vet types.\r \r Each time he sees an animal he completes a very thorough physical exam. His advice on treatment and diagnostic testing has been invaluable to me in the past in helping me to make sometimes difficult decisions with my pets. He is easy going and focuses on giving you the info that you need so you can decide (never trying to push you toward his choice).\r \r People who have already used Dr. Kus for their animals will be thrilled to find him in Santee! To the person who wrote the last offensive remark, Dr Zeicu, the prior vet at Santee Pet Hospital, passed away unexpectedly in December. Dr Zeicu was on duty 365 days a year, including Sundays and holidays, until his unfortunate passing. The staff at SPH got a new vet on board ASAP - HAVE A HEART! more

been taking my pet there for years. love the vet. everyone else is right, the receptionist is so rude. also very short, seems to hate job. ive seen her show up late several times with our early morning appt.s. more

Santee Pet Hospital is a caring place! 9/28/2009

Dr.Zeicu has always been extremely caring toward our pets. It says a lot about a vet who really takes the time to gently talk to an animal to put them at ease, His surgeries are the best we've seen, with minimal recup time and quick healing. The prices are comparable or a little less than other vets. \r \r The only thing that would be helpful is to get a receipt for services rendered, so clients would have a record of vaccinations, etc. that were done. more

We have always had extremely good service at Santee Pet. In fact, even after moving over 20 minutes away, we continue to bring our dogs there. The doctor is always caring, and the support staff is helpful. Prices are reasonable, and we know we count on them in an emergency! more

We love Dr. Zeicu! 5/5/2009

We have been going to Santee Pet Hospital since we moved to Santee in 1994. We love Dr. Zeicu, who truly loves animals and is wonderful to our children, as well. It's true that this isn't a state-of-the-art facility, but we appreciate that he understands that we're treating animals and that sometimes the best course of action isn't drastic and/or expensive. Instead of recommending a battery of tests, he's more likely to do an exam and recommend observation, thereby saving a great deal of money. He doesn't charge for an exam if vaccines are given, and I don't understand why people are saying he's expensive when he often charges only for the medications he uses. The fact that he's open seven days a week is also a plus. Dr. Zeicu is a wonderful man and we hope he continues to practice for many more years!! more

Class A vet 5/4/2009

I read the reviews of other pet owners and think that some of them must be posting on the wrong site. Dr. Pavel has been our vet for over 20 years, while the receptionists have sometimes been a little rude I have never had bad service there. Dr. Pavel won't try to talk you into saving an animal that does not have a good quality of life in front of it and he won't tack on needless procedures or medications. He calls our pets "babies" and that is the way he treats them, as loving and loved members of our family. The 3 times he has been involved in us losing a pet he has always sent a very warm sympathy card because he knows how much it hurts to lose a loved one. I have never been charged more than I was quoted and have sometimes paid less. They are generally less expensive than other vets but there services are basic, no high tech anything just good people who care about the health and welfare of animals. more

we've taken my pet to this hospital a few times and we love the service and cost. its so fast and easy and we come out of there in a jiffy. yeah its not the best hospital in the world but it works for my pets needs. more

Life-saver many times over 5/31/2008

I have been going to Santee Pet Hospetal for 10 years and have found them caring and professional without charging an arm and leg to help sick animals. I have only been able to continue rescue because of their prices and help. This vet comes in on weekends and holidays to serve the community. For many years he didn't charge what other vets around San Diego did, and was very under priced. Office visits and stool checks were free for a very long time. I just hope to god he doesn't retire! more

Overpriced and Rude 5/30/2008

I went there for years, and never had any problems except for the rude young receptionist.\r My dog had to have stiches, he quoted me one price and charged me double with no invoice.\r The receptionist called other customers I know and told them I was rude and bounced checks all over town especially when I pay with a credit card at all times. When I confronted the receptionist, she was so rude, yelling at me, and try to tell me I was the irresponsible and never paid my bills.They never apologize for the slandering and mistake....I will never go back there and don't recommend anyone to go there. more

Very caring vet 5/26/2008

Sure, the hospital is basic but you're there for the veterinarian. This vet will not have you spend thousands of dollars trying to save an animal that is near the end of his life. He doesn't want to put animals through months of chemo or operations when their quality of life is no longer there. If you have the same mindset then this is the veterinarian for you. He will not do unnecessary operations and I have never experienced being over charged. In fact, my animals have been given care many times and have only been charged for the medicine.\r \r Which would you trust? A vet that wants you to spend $1000.00's of dollars to fix your animal that only has months to live anyway, and preys on your guilt, or a vet that tells you like it is. more

Really Nice Doctor, Open 7 days a week 5/7/2008

This isn't the most high tech Vet. They don't even have computers. I have been very happy with my experiences here. One time the doctor only charged me for the medicine and not the examination. Great place to go for fast and basic Veterinary care. more
