Best

Great food, best Thai restaurant for me. Great value for the food. Best is they open late. lately they are only accepting cash, bummer.

Worst

It's passable, and for the price, not too bad, but very definitely not very good. Stewed duck noodle soup....

Late night eating 6/12/2002

Just need to drop a note that this place is great for late night eating. When you are up at 1am, starving and don't know what to eat... come here! The crowd is... interesting, but the food is amazing. When you order spicy here, it certainly lives up to its potential. It will knock the alcohol right out of you. Pros: late night eating, tasty, inexpensive Cons: street parking more

Good Thai. Plain and Simple. 6/11/2002

This hidden treasure on Hollywood Blvd serves up some really good Thai food. Joint is small and has a ""B"" rating, but nothing will please you more than the tastiness of their food. Spring Rolls are delicious; Pad Thai is so good and flavorful. Everything was exceptional. I love everything about this place, except for the parking. It's really bad. They have a small parking lot, and it's usually packed. I did have an unusual experience for dinner once. I arrived at about 6:30pm on a Thursday night and the waitress greeted us and said they were closed. I asked when theyd re-open (Ive been there for lunch before), she said she didnt know and rushed us out. I would have gladly waited 30-45 min for them to open, but apparently that was not an option for her. Does anyone have their hours of operation? Pros: Pad Thai, Prices Cons: Limited Parking more

THIS IS THAI FOOD 6/4/2002

AUTHENTIC AND CHEAP...that's what this place is all about. Its a great after hours place to eat at...I recommend the "combination fried rice" or their "pad thai" even the "cha-po" is good... I've been going here since 94 and the food has been great since day one. Props to Sanamluang...show them some love and try it out.... Pros: authentic thai food, cheap prices Cons: parking is tight, crowded sometimes more

Fabulous 5/20/2002

I went here for the first time recently and I was very impressed. Their chicken coconut soup was better than any I've ever had at Palms Thai or even Chandara. The shrimp cakes were fried perfectly, cooked just right but still very juicy. The prices certainly can't be beat. I cannot recommend this place enough. Pros: great food, very inexpensive more

Hole in the wall no more 5/20/2002

I was pleasantly surprised on a recent visit to find that Sanamluang has expanded and classed itself up a tad. The seating area has doubled, the payment counter is less awkwardly located, and the restroom situation is much improved. The food? Well, it's as cheap and delicious as ever. Pros: Cheap, cheap, cheap, Pleasant waitstaff, Authentic Cons: Horrible parking, Ugly outdoor seating more

pad si euw please 5/19/2002

sanamluang shines as the king of cheap and excellent food. every thai restaurant i go to, i'll order the pad si euw to see how it stacks up against sanam. nobody can match the flavor sanam achieves -- the coconut milk infused pan fried noodles with a smokey, sweet taste. pile on the chili sauce for the full flavor of this dish. the spring rolls are ace. order w/ a thai tea. the waitresses are great too. very friendly and will chat you up like you're old friends. don't let the dull locale fool you. this place is top notch. Pros: pad si iuw, spring rolls, wait staff Cons: parking sometimes more
