we wanted to order cabinet handles and when we picked them out, we were told they were all in stock and when we went to order them, they weren't so we had to order them and now we have to wait. we don't mind waiting but would have preferred to have known ahead of time. When we paid for the ones in stock and ordered the back ordered ones, we felt an indifference in the payment process. Didn't seem to be any appreciation for placing an order. there were lots of handles and no attempt to provide a bag so I had to ask for one and it seemed like a bother. Your store is tops and the layout and samples are top notch and the sales staff is very friendly and you have an ample supply of dog biscuits on hand. We will continue to shop there..... more

Although Nick had helped me in the past and started this order, Leslie spent a great deal of time with me and my client to get this order refined to completion. Nick was my go to guy in the past, as he has always been really knowledgeable and easy to work with. Now that I have worked with Leslie, she is equally capable and I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again. She was friendly and was appreciated by my client. more

San Diego Hardware review 10/31/2011

I liked that there was a huge supply of about everything one could need. But my experience wasn't that great. First it took quite a few minutes to be acknowledged as I waited at the register area (there was 1 customer being helped, but there were 2 employees just talking). The girl who helped me, knew where to find what I wanted. When I got home & my husband installed my new mailbox he noticed it was damaged in the corner. He fixed it, because I didn't want to drive all the way back to the store. But...I went to attach the new numbers, one of the numbers was wrong... I should of looked at them before I left the store...so I will make the trek back to the store today on my day off! Pros: null Cons: null more

I had a very large order to fulfill and they were very helpful with that. However, followup was not good. I asked repeatedly to be contacted about the arrival date so I could schedule an installer, and I did not get that, which created some problems. I also ordered 4 separate keys and the locks were keyed for only 2. Again, since I didn't know the order was on its way, it was too late to make a change. They were very good about labeling all the boxes for the proper door. And most of the order came in correct. more

Leslie has not been the first person I have dealt with at SD Hardware Co. And I want to thank you for choosing many great people on your staff. However, with the present remodel, Leslie has been my primary service person. She has been fantastic! Even with small glitches she has stepped up to the plate and and made the results good and even an eventful time. Because of her knowledge and low pressure, I have felt comfortable to look around and she has lent suggestions to further enhance my on going projects. Her humor is calming. When remodeling goofs occur on a daily basis. it is refreshing and looked forward to have a consistent happy person greet you everytime you come into the store. Thank you for your staff and wide variety of choices of items, to add fun and art to an 'old' home. Georgette more

Fantastic Customer Service! 10/20/2011

Faced with the daunting task of picking knobs and pulls for our entire new house, I was so amazed with the wonderful assistance I received from a very patient Leslie Pruett. She spent hours with me and really helped guide me to things that would work well for us.
