I came in on a Saturday morning. I had to wait just a minute until my number was called. Rebecca helped me with an exterior doorhandle ...went through the options, made sure that I got the exact one that I needed. She also assisted with a few other items that I wasn't ready to buy, but that I wanted to gather information on. I came in with 3 little kids, and she was pleasant and patient as we were interupted by them! more

Great experience 4/21/2012

We needed two items, new hardware for the front door and a new number plate for the front of the house. With help and patience from Rebecca we ordered the number plate and received specific instructions on measurements we needed to make to purchase the hardware. The following week we returned and ordered the hardware. We will definitely return for future needs. more

Amazing store and staff. 4/18/2012

Vickie was very helpful from start to finish. We had difficult cabinet doors to find hardware for and she made suggestions and removed and replaced handles on their samples until we found one that worked. Prices were reasonable and selection was incredible. Would definitely shop there again. more

Founded in 1892, the original store on 5th Avenue in downtown carried traditional hardware of that era, including washboards, wood stoves, ice boxes, sporting goods and Winchester firearms. Four generations later, San Diego Hardware is still owned and operated by members of the original founding family.
