I have been practicing yoga at Suze Curtis? DPYP for 3 ? years, and it has greatly increased my flexibility and balance, as well as strengthening and lengthening my muscles (I do competitive ballroom dancing, and these are important). This studio is unique?it has a padded floor, as well as inspiring phrases painted in big colorful letters on the ceiling. The room is large with mirrors totally covering two walls. Everyone is very friendly, and you are encouraged to challenge yourself and ?work your edge?, and to rest when you need to. The instructors are very encouraging and VERY knowledgeable about the poses and anatomy. I really like the format of the classes. The music played during these classes is very energizing (not the boring, go to sleep kind of music I thought yoga music was). You will either have Suze instruct your class to this upbeat music, or you will have an instructor in the room while simultaneously the upbeat music is played with Suze?s recorded instructions. The instructor will give the class helpful tips on the instructions, as well as giving students individual attention. With Suze?s live or recorded instructions, I can really mentally visualize the pose, rather than having to look up at an instructor for visual cues and in the process lose my balance. The sequence and timing of poses in these classes works ALL of your muscles in ways that just isn?t possible to do at a gym. You burn an incredible number of calories in these classes! My husband finally decided to try yoga, and he?s been an avid yogi now for about six months. He agrees that this yoga is as challenging as his gym workouts. Since he also dances with me, he?s noticed that his posture, flexibility, and balance have improved. Thank you, Suze!
Pros: Great Ambience & Inspiration; LOTS of parking; WONDERFUL Staff & Teachers
