Samantha's Restaurant

I drive by samanthas daily, but never been therr to eat, today I brought it up to.my bf telling him we should try it out, he wasn't sure, but I talked him into going.. Great desion we both loved it!! I will def recommend it, and be a regular customer!!!!! more

This may be my husband's favorite restaurant and my grandchildren's too. You get a lot of good food for the prices and the waitresses are always friendly and pleasant. As to charges on my credit card, I haven't used it there or at least haven't noticed a 20% increase in the bill. As the sheriff of this county eats here regularly, I doubt anything illegal is going on! He'd notice for sure! The only negative, and it's minor, is the decor, which is pretty basic. Tabletops could be washed with bleach between customers. more

i have never been to Samantha's restaurant before but i was reading the reviews and just wanted to comment. I have been to places before that have the 20% upcharge, but it is always taken off as soon as it clears through my bank. I dont really see what the big deal is because it's not like the charge stays on there. I guess people just need something to complain about. more

While we like the food and decor, we have never seen anyone working there smile! Are you really always that ticked off and somber? From the host to each server that passes us, it's a ticked off look. more

I agree with the "guest" that differs with the "Owner". It is not normal to be charged 20% when using a debit card as a credit. Besides, I used a "credit card", not a debit card as a credit, and when I got my statement I was also charged 20% more than my bill. This is not only unethical, but illegal. Buyer beware! more

My boyfriend and I go here often! Always great service and food! The atmosphere is wonderful. I am always recommending Samantha's to my clients and have never heard anything but great comments from them! more

You claim this is typical--that debit cards are automatically charged 20% more when they eat in establishments. NO. We eat out often--ate at Carrabbas this weekend. We were not charged 20% above our bill. YOu need to check your sources and YOUR credit card company because this is not something that happens everywhere. I use my card for almost everything and I never had this happen till I ate in your restaurant. I was upset that you did this, and no warning either. more

Good: Great Service, Food, Great team of Staff, kind and friendly, always accomadating.. Improvements: That the Customer understands the difference between debit and credit card transactions with the banking industry. Adebit card when used in the service industry hair, restaurants, hotels and gas stations, are processed different then a credit card. The credit industry when ran knows if the balance is overdrawn, on a debit they don't and not all but sometimes add a 20% tip to that transaction. Once the funds are verified it is dropped as if it never existed. Understanding on the consumer would be great.. Other: We at Samanthas Restaurant have always given a 100% to our customers. And anyone who frequents us knows that....You have to wait to be seated. Then are greeted, then asked what woulod u like to drink, then the server gives the customer time to address the menu and specials, I would find it hard to belive we would have a customer wait 10mins. If that customer felt that way, I applogies as the owner however we a sit down family restaurant. Thank You. more

Good: Hello, Inregards to the consumers that are having a problem understanding the difference between debit and credit cards in the processing of these cards in the service industry . Hair Salons, Restaurants, Hotels Gas stations etc. If your debit card is used as a credit which it is at restaurants, your cards it charged plus a 20% charge is add until it clears your bank, not our bank yours and that 20% is dropped. Its has been as shame how a consumer can review a restaurant on the bases card industry,. Improvements: None, just understanding of the comsumer , would be great in understanding the credit card industry.. Other: Also inregards to the customer who stated they waited 10mins for service. As the owner you have to wait to be seated. At that time u are asked what you would like to drink at that time u are given time to look at menu and specials. If in your mind u waited 10 mins I appologize. However we are a sit down family restaurant. Thank You. more

The food was better than your typical "home cooked" restaurant, but the service was poor. We waited at least 10 minutes before someone greeted us. We did notice that the speed of the service improved the closer it got to closing time. I doubt that I would return. If I am paying a tip for service, I want good service. more

The food is good--the service mediocre. What's more frustrating is that they automatically add a 20% tip onto your bill without telling you. We left a tip in cash, so were very upset to see the charge. We've called twice now and been told that it's normal procedure for restaurants to do this and that the 20% will drop off after a few days. It hasn't happened yet, been 4 days. Not worth it. I've been told it's illegal. It isn't even the money, it's the fact that they think they can do this. We eat out a lot and have never had this happen, despite Samanthas saying it's normal procedure. more

my sister & i travel from upstate new york to see the hall of fame game every couple of years. i think we use that as an excuse to come back to samantha's. we stopped in by mistake the first time because the ihop down the street was crowded. ihop this ain't! it's wonderful. we have the stuffed french toast every time! so much fresh fruit! we love this place! more

Do you want to have a favorite place to wake up to for breakfast on occasion. Some place to call home? Samantha's is the local place to do so. This place has good home style cooking the only grandma can approve of. My family and I usually go there for breakfast. It has the perfect atmosphere and food to get your day started. I truly recommend their big waffle or their blueberry pancakes. I personally also like their sausage and cheese omellete. Any way you put it, I bet you will be coming back for more. more
