The first time I went, I asked to be highlighted blonde, and the girl dyed it RED. Then to "fix" it (after she fought w/me and said it wasn't red...I have a redheaded boyfriend, I know what red looks like!), she turned only the bottom half blonde & left the top copper! I had to spend $175 & 2 appointments elsewhere to fix it! When I asked for a refund, the manager promised one & took down my info, then never gave me my money back. Since that was my first time there, I felt like I should be gracious & thought I should try again & not judge off of one chance. Bad idea. The next time, they only did my roots- really great for the brassiness on the rest of my head! You couldn't pay me to go here, and if you don't want to come out crying, avoid this salon!! more

My husband purchased a gift card for me for $135.00, evidently a new owner took over. When I called to make appoinment I explained I had a gift certificate, the new owner-Monica said she would not honor that certificate. I asked her if there was anything she could do for me and she said NO that was the old owner's responsibility she then handed the phone off to an emplyee without even telling me. As a customer that spent money (no matter what the dollar amount) should have some way met me half way (which I did ask her and she said NO to that too) you feel like you 've been ripped off not to mention for good business and a good business owner should have done something. She was very unprofessional and unexperienced. The out come was I contacted the old owner (Nancie-Soothing Elements) and she was very apologetic for the way I was treated by Salon Monae and refunded me my full $135.00 within 1 day. To me that is awesome customer service and I would definately buy from an owner like Nancie rather than Salon Monae. I know accomodating customer's can sometimes get frustrating, but when a customer's right as a business owner that comes with the territory and you need to be professional and handle the situation not push it off on someone else. getting a spa facial from terrie is just a little piece of heaven - be prepared to spend a good relaxing hour away from the cares of the world when you treat yourself (or someone else you love) to a spa facial given by terrie - a nice gown to change in to - soft music and scented candles - many many soft lotions and potions applied to your face and then gently wiped away - i'm telling you - IT'S THE BEST - you come out of there looking and feeling 10 years younger! terrie's pedicures are wonderful too - you sit on a chair that looks like a throne - and it has adjustable massage features - your feet are in their own private jacuzzi - and just like the facial - many many soft solutions are applied to your feet, which are massaged along with your legs - by time you get your toenails painted you are ready to dance out of there - best bet - give yourself a day of beauty (and relaxation!) - terrie is a doll! Pros: ambience, parking, service - and TERRIE! Cons: none to speak of more

A spa pedicure and manicure almost cost me $80 dollars here! I decided to go somewhere else. I had originally made an appointment there to get ready for my wedding anniversary date with my husband but after I called to confirm the appointment and I inquired how much it would be, my jaw dropped. I asked the girl to please cancel my appointment and she gave me an arrogant, "Ugh!" Very unprofessional receptionist to say the least. I went to A-List nails on Greenleaf instead. I got a better deal on my nails and the staff at A-List was friendly and the atmosphere was very clean. Pros: Nicely decorated Cons: Bad attitude, the customer is always right! more

To my surprise i came into the establishment formally soothing elements was sold in April 07 and now called Salon Monae. I had 3 services and was very impressed and pleased with the staff they were very friendly and gave great service and it was very relaxing. i would highly reccomend to all to come and enjoy and endulge in the new full service salon. Pros: great service, friendly staff, and great parking. Cons: none more

After having an awful hair color experience, Soothing Elements phoned me several months later to tell me i had won a free spa pedicure. I went and the pedicure was excellent. At the time of leaving i decided to purchase a gift for my mother for a massage. Her experience was not good at all. The massus showed up late to her appointment and was not relaxed or pleasant. She made my mother lay down on the table with no pillow. My mother requested one and they gave her rolled up towels instead to put on her neck which was very uncomfortable. They offered her nothing to drink, she had to request it. She was never asked if she was okay. The massage was rushed and not very effective. My mother asked me never to get her a gift card from them again and prefers to go to a less fancy place where the massages are $40 instead of the overprized $90 massages Soothing Elements offers. I enjoy going there as much as I can. I feel like it's a little get away from home. It makes me proud that we have such a great place in Whittier. I get my nails done by Jamie and waxing from Andrea. They are both wonderful. I've had my hair and makeup done for my sister wedding. I got lots of great reviews. The fire place is great during the cold seasons. I gave my mom a gift certificate and she really enjoyed her facial with Andrea. She said she will come back! Everyone should try this spa! Pros: Very inviting! I was exited when this spa opened in Whittier and could not wait to try it. My first experience was very nice, I received a great pedicure with a wonderful massage. I couldn't wait for my next visit. I SHOULD HAVE STOPPED AT THE FIRST TIME!!! What a horrible experience compared to the first. The nail tech hardly bothered to work on me at all, and the massage was half hearted. Even after that fiasco, I tried again to make an appointment, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I was left on hold, never to here from any one again. I have never been in a place that was so immaculate and elegant. I was surprised to find a place like this in whittier. The service is absolutely unbelieveable. I was spoiled rotten. From the consierge at the front to the girl who gave me an amazing pedicure which felt more like a facial for my feet. they even put a mask and scrub on my feet. I believe it was trish who gave me a pedicure..she is amazing and so kind. I am going back for certain...I definitely recommend this place. Pros: ambiance, fabulous consierge, atmosphere more

The girl who did my hair was in a hurry to get me out the door as quickly as possible. She made little/no conversation and looked mad. I;ve never had anyone wash my hair, apply color, and dry my hair so fast. I told her what color I was thinking of getting, she made no suggestions,quickly walked off and came back with color mixed in a bowl instead of showing me color swatches to make sure we were both on the same page. She did an excellent job on the color/highlights however it was too light not what I wanted. She blow dried my hair with no styling product and it felt incredibly dry. Later I found out she had dinner plans which made sense as to why she hurried me out the door. I will not return for color/highlights, I will probably return to try out their pedicure spa. I had an amazing time at soothing elements. I was pampered from the moment I walked in the door. My Hair stylist gave me amazing highlights and Trisha gave me an amazing pedicure and foot massage. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to relax and be spoiled for a day...and ask for Damean. He gives great recommendations for who you should see. Pros: service, clean, atmosphere more

Ok this site really works. I'm about to get married next week and I found soothing elemenys on city search, so I made my appt. Sonya gave me a bridal package hair, makeup complete with a trial run and all. She even went with me to choose my jewelery and accessories for me and my bridal party. Then I was treated to and Spa chair pedicure I was served wine while I was taken away into another world, a world where relaxation is an understatement. Tricia was great. Jamie gave me the most beautiful set of gel nails, who would have thought no polish required!! Then Suzie threaded my eyebrows into perfect shape!! I will be back you can bet on it!!!! I'M A 38 YEAR OLD FIREFIGHTER FROM BREA WHO LOVED THIS SPA. IT WAS NOT ONLY GEARED FOR WOMEN. MARY GAVE ME THE BEST HOT LATHER SHAVE THAT WAS SO RELAXING. ANDREA MADE ME FEEL RELAXED GETTING MY FIRST FACIL EVER. TRICIA'S SPA CHAIR PEDICURE WAS REMARKABLE AND SHE HAD SUCH STRONG HANDS FOR THE LEG MASSAGE. I absolutly LOVE this day spa. From the front desk staff (notably Kimber) to Andrea, who works magic with my eyebrows, to the pedicurist who spends over an hour pampering my feet, I feel that every moment at this spa is one of enjoyment and pleasure. I highly recommend this spa! more

Talk about a diamond in the rough, who would have ever thought such an amasing place in Whittier. I went into this facility to get a spa pedicure their signature service(i can see why) and I was blown away. Cleanliness, service, and just palin pampering. I loved it so much that I went back the next week to get my hair done. I saw Sonya and she was amasing, she knew just whet to do with my hair she gave me an awesome color and the greatest short haircut I've ever had,she even gave me a complimentary mini facial WOW!!!! Now, I have some spa experiences and let me tell you, this spa puts all others (especiallyin the Whittier area) to shame! The staff was so helpful, courteous, thoughtful and very professional! The technicians were very knowledgeable and the service was outstanding. I had a facial, massage, waxing, pedicure and manicure. In that visit I was so intrigued by the look of satisfaction on the "hair" cleints faces, that I booked an appointment with Mary for myself and my husband! Never, have I been so satisfied with a hairdresser as I was with Mary! I have manicures and pedicures by Elaina and if you are into acrylic Monica is my favorite. Enjoy and relax! One other thing, I also have never seen such a sanitary and thourough cleaning as what these girls do in the spa chairs after each service I hear they even autoclave their implements!
