I no longer worked in Center City so I needed to find a new hairdresser closer to home. I went to Bali and was so very happy with her work. Cut and color. I had a new style and love it. Bali is wonderful A very nice person, too! more

My hairdresser of 25 years retired about three years ago. I am a Hi-Light Lo-Light. I tried several hairdressers many of which proved to be a disaster. None of them would show me a color chart because they "knew what I wanted". I would ask and they would say "Don't worry about it. I know what you want." I was a different color every month. One hairdresser in center city kept doing my roots and the color would not take. My roots would wash out after the first shampoo. Some would do the base color and tell me to come back next month for the highlight. I was ready to pack it in. Then I found the De Sante Salon in Springfield and then I found "Bali" the stylist! Talk about a professional salon and talk about a professional hairstylist. WOW! Bali actually sat down with me for 20 minutes showed me swatches and charts and decided to "start from scratch" I came out of there looking like a model and all in just a few hours. The professialism of both the salon and the employees is unmatched. more

I was looking for a new place to get my hair done because I have been unsuccessful in finding a hair stylist who can manage my extremely think and frizzy hair so i decided to try Salon DeSante. I had an appointment with one of the stylist Lisa Sharkey and told her what I wanted done. She listened to everyword I said and knew exactly how to tackle my hair and give me exactly what I wanted. When she was finished cutting and styling my hair I couldn't belive how good my hair looked, I have never ever walked out of a salon and loved the way my hair looked, I always had to go home and restyle my hair to my liking. If anyone is looking to get a great haircut in a great enviroment I would defintly recommend going to Salon DeSante, and when you go ask to have Lisa Sharkey be your stylist becuase she does an awsome job. A friend who has been going to Salon DeSante told me about Dina and what a good job she does at doing eyebrowns. I went 3 times so far and have been overly pleased with her & the results. I am 29 and have been getting my eyeborws waxed for 14 years. Dina said I needed eyebrow rehab and I did. Now they are defined and shape my face so well. Dina listens to what you want and gives her expert advice. She makes me feel so comfortable and explains what she is gong to do b/f proceeding with it. I am very particular & highly recommend you look into getting a new eyebrow artist. Pros: It's private & so relaxing. Reasonable price. Cons: The rude blonde receptionist. more

I first went to the salon in 2003 with a wedding party. I was pleased with the service. Since then I continue to go to the salon despite the fact that I live in San Diego, 3,000 away! Whenever I get back to PA I always make sure I have an appointment with Frank. There is often a wait, but once you are in the chair you understand why you are waiting.....Frank is very particular and wants to make sure he did a good job and that you look good. Frank has been my hair consultant and stylist for nearly 4 yrs. I have been to many salons in both Pa and southern NJ and this is the best one I have ever been to in 18 yrs. It's the best due to the constant customer service which has never changed in as many visits. Coming from the customer service industry this is extremely important to me and it shows with Frank's extraordinary concern for every customer. No matter how long his day has been or how late it seems to be the entire team at Salon Desante takes the time to make sure that every last detail of your needs are taken care of. The hair shampoo accompanied by the best head and shoulder massage you'll ever have is with Frank's assistant, Erik. This salon is full service and for everyone's needs. I found Salon DeSante through the "Best of" guide on Citysearch. I wanted to find a new colorist to help me heal my platinum blonde hair and hopefully get it to grow after some major hair color damage. I called Salon DeSante and requested Frank. It was the best decision I ever made for my hair! Frank has singlehandedly healed my hair and it's actually growing again. I have no breakage and the color is exactly how I like it... not brassy, just a nice light wheat color. If you like your hair light and have had damage in the past, you have to check out Salon DeSante. Frank has made my fine hair stronger and healthier while keeping it as light as I like. The salon experience itself is also top notch. Having spent most of the past 15 years or so getting my hair done in Center City, I wondered if a Delaware County salon could measure up. I was pleasantly surprised to find that yes, they definitely could! Everyone at Salon DeSante is customer service oriented and the staff makes an effort to make every person comfortable and even learn every clients' name. They are quick to hang your coat, offer you a cold beverage or coffee. I even was escorted to my car in the rain when I forgot my umbrella! I am getting married in a few months and I plan to post more reviews on the salon's other treatments! So far though, my experience with the salon has been excellent. Thanks Frank!!! Franky DeSante has been my stylist for over 7 years and I will never go anyone else! I live in South NJ and would travel anywhere for Franky! He has built a team of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals. I put my complete trust in Franky and have NEVER been disappointed. His talent and ability is unmatched and always cutting edge. I have never left disappointed or wanting something different; he always does an outstanding job. And transplants what I am looking for into the perfect look! In some of the other reviews a few people mentioned that they had to wait and my response is that any wait is always well worth it and the very friendly and accommodating staff makes you feel welcomed and completely taken care of the entire time. My entire family goes to Salon DeSante and we will never go anyone else! I HIGHLY recommend trying Salon DeSante if you have not and guarantee that you will never go anyone else either! more

I have been going to Salon DeSante to get my hair done, ever since my stylist Maria started working there. I love everyone in the salon they are all friendly and make you feel like you are somone special!! I always get complements on how awesome my hair looks. I have been going to Salon DeSante with my son for a number of years. The staff has always been professional and friendly, especially making sure we are both comfortable. Bobby is our hairstylist but I would be comfortable going to any one there. Our hair always looks great when we leave. I?ve gotten incredible shampoos and they have even gotten my son to try them. He loves getting his hair washed now. I would highly recommend Salon DeSante for their professional, talented and courteous service. Give them a try; I?m sure you will love it. I am from Philadelphia and Frankie has been doing my hair from over 15 years but I moved to CA a few years ago and I can?t find anyone who comes to close to Frankie. I make it home every couple months and the first thing I do is make an appointment to have Frankie cut and color my hair. He always takes his time to sit down with me and listen to my latest wishes. We review color swatches and the latest hair cutting techniques that he learned in Europe from his latest trip - I love catching him when he first comes back Europe; he?s always so excited and motivated. I always tell him, ?Do whatever you want Frankie, I trust you?. I love going to Salon DeSante, the atmosphere is relaxing and I always leave feeling energized and beautiful! I tried this salon quite a few times. Each time I had to wait very long, even though I had an appointment. And when I finally was in the chair, Frank was doing 5 other things at the same time, prolongning my cut. I had grown out my hair and brought pictures with me of my new cut, front, side and back - and when I left there - the cut was nothing like the picture. And it took over 2 hours sitting in the chair. The staff needs to listen more, keep on time with their appointments, and not schedule 2 or 3 people at the same time. Pros: None Cons: Very long wait time more

I have been going to Salon DeSante for 15+ years now. In those 15 years I can honestly say I have NEVER been unhappy with services provided. I give Frank a direction and let his creative talents take over. I was scared the first time I went to the salon because I had other stylists chop my hair off when I ask for a trim, NOT HERE! They listened from day 1 my fear about cutting my length and what I wanted from my visit. There is NO one I trust more than Frank when cutting and coloring my very long hair. When Frank is away at hair shows Lisa handles my cuts and colors and again never had a complaint. You feel like you are family and very special with their one on one service. The salon was around the corner from my house when I started going there when they moved I had to travel to see them but well worth the ride. Thank you to a wonderful group of stylists. I am a hairdresser, and I usually cut my own hair. (I dont work in a salon because I stay home with my children.) I hadn't had someone else cut my hair in over two years. I had been growing it out and only trimming it. It was finally getting long, and it needed a good trim and clean up. I decided to go to the salon. Normally, I go to Oggi in Philadelphia for a good cut because I could never find a good hairstylist out in the burbs where I live. I have a four year old and a 7 month old, so I decided to go to Salon Desante...supposedly a high end, professional salon. Well, I was told Lisa Sharkey was an excellent hairdresser. This is an incorrect statement. She is horrible. I only wanted to clean up my hair, so I wanted about one inch off all around. She took off about four inches off the sides of my hair and left the back long. When I asked her why the back was long and the sides were short, she said she was framing my face. HA! I have never seen angles go all the way to the back of someones head! It was absolutely horrible! She kept trying to puch the long hair in the back over my shoulders to make it look ok. I told her I did not like it at all and now she had to cut four inches off the back so it was even with the sides. I didnt want to seem too angry because I didnt want her to get nervous or upset and completely screw up my hair. Well, I basically had to walk her through the haircut, and I still ended up with an uneven, unattractive hairstyle. AND-it was four inches shorter than I wanted it to be. Remember, I had finally grown out my hair!! I would have been much better off cutting it myself. Also, I told her I wear my hair flat, and she could not get it flat - Even with a flat iron. It is not hard to use a flat iron, but she sure had trouble using it. A hairdresser this bad should not be charging $60 for her services. On a better note, the shampoo assistant, who never told me his name and spoke too soft for me to hear him, gave me an incredible shampoo. Pros: Good Shampoo Cons: Horrible Horrible Cut more

I went to get a hair cut from Frank and let him know very clearly that I only wanted him to cut off an inch from my hair. I left the salon about 8 inches shorter. He seemed to either completely ignore or forget what I told him I wanted. He also kept me waiting for 45 minutes before the cut and spent most of the time discussing salon business with the other employees. He was very courteous, but that really didn't make up for totally failing to listen to what I'd asked for. more

I travel 3,000 miles (from San Francisco, CA) every chance I get simply to have my hair done by the fantabulous staff of Salon DeSante. Frank and his team have changed my concept of what a salon should offer its clients. Cool, sophisticated, fresh and fun, Salon DeSante has never failed me (a girl who did not get her hair cut for 7 years out of fear of foul play!!!) in stepping up my style, and making me feel great about who I am through how I look. I am responding to the grossly overexaggerated and vicious review sent in June about Salon DeSante. I have been a client of Salon De Sante for over 5 years. I have never been intimidated or pressured to have anything done to my hair or to buy product. Their prices are comparable to the area salons. Because I have multiple processes to my hair during a visit, it can take time. So, instead of complaining I bring a book to read or relax and watch Frank's staff do their thing. I drastically change my hair color and style every year. Only once did I end up with a color I wasn't fond of (I picked it out!). Frank stayed and worked with my hair until I was absolutely satisfied (no additional charge). I always receive compliments about how fresh, sharp and natural looking my hair looks. I have referred family members, friends, clients (both men and women) to Salon De Sante. They all found Frank and his staff to be professional, talented and courteous. I will continue to be a client who wholeheartedly recommends others to go to Frank. more

I am a new client at Salon DeSante and now, a permanent one. Hair color is one of the few things you can change about yourself to make you feel "new" and "revived" (short of plastic surgery, that is, but who can do that every 6-8 weeks?!)). So, when I go to a salon, I want to know that I am going to leave feeling just that. When I met with Frank DeSante and staff, it was an experience I had never had before. Some stylists and colorists cut and color hair based on what THEY feel like doing, not necessarily what is best for the client. Frank spent a lot of time with me finding out my likes and dislikes, my concerns, and most importantly, my comfort level with trying certain colors and cuts. Not to mention, his staff, even those who aren't doing your hair, are there to accomodate your every need. Frank's assistant, Eric, even gives you a massage while washing your hair. I may go back weekly just to get my hair washed! And the fact that I am driving from NJ and the high cost of gas, that says alot! Needless to say, I walked out with the best cut , color and salon experience I have ever received. Frank is a man who has truly perfected his craft and yet, impressively, continues to educate himself to stay at the top of his game. Pros: Expertise Cons: Doesn't have a 3rd salon in NJ!!!! more

I have been a client of Frank DeSante's for 20 + years and am continually amazed at his skill and talent in coloring & cutting. Each time I sit in his chair he treats me as if I were a new client. Asking me questions about my hair, how I feel about it, what I liked about the previous color, and so on. He never assumes anything and is always attentive and creative to my likes and dislikes. His staff are also just as attentive making you feel as though you've truly escaped the day and ended up in an atmosphere of relaxation. I was unable to go to Frank for a few years as I moved out of the area, but recently realized that no one out there can give me the color and cut that Frank can. The products that he uses are exceptional and he is very knowledgable on all of them. I'm always impressed with him and his staff as they are comfortable enough to consult with one another when suggesting new products to customers. To know the amount of time he spends each year studying around the world to perfect his skill is priceless! Frank's assistant Eric gives the most amazing massage when he washes your hair! The time he spends on you just adds to the whole experience. Frank, His Staff and the Salon are worth the $ and the distance for their services. For anyone out there that has a negative remark about this Salon, go ahead and try somewhere else; I can guarantee you, YOU"LL BE BACK! Pros: Everything! Cons: NONE more
