I have been a client of Salon DeSante for some years now and I always have people asking where i get my hair cut and colored. So I decided to share my comments and experience at Salon DeSante. I am always amazed with the creative cuts and coloring. Frankie the proprietor as well as my stylist is a perfectionist when it comes to color so don't expect to be rushed. He carefully consults with his clients. He always lets me know of new styles he has learned from his travels on continuing education in hair and color, and his staff is professionally trained as well. I also appreciate the friendly and inviting atmosphere. Kudos to Salon DeSante and staff. I give it five out of five stars! Thanks Frankie! Continue on! I have been a client of Salon DeSante for 3 years, and I highly recommend this salon. Frank DeSante is the epitome of talent & professionalism; he treats every client like a queen. He is extremely attentive, treating each client with such care and consideration. Frank truly listens to what you envision your hair to look like. I have always been thrilled with my hair. The staff is accomodating and warm, always very pleasant. The atmosphere is simply lovely. Salon DeSante is the closest thing to finding perfection in a salon! The hair care products are fabulous! Salon Desante is the best place I EVER had my hair cut and color done. I have curly hair and FINALLY I found someone who can cut and color it. Frank Desante is wonderful. He listens to what you have to say and what you want. He will also give some suggestions, but he never forces his opinion on you. He has a great eye for hair color. You can say goodbye to "same old, same old" hair color. Unless that's what you want?( How boring! ) The staff at Salon Desante is great, too. They are very nice and try help in any way possible. I absolutely love this salon!! After a really bad experience a few years ago with another salon, I was ready to branch out. I arrived ten minutes early for my appt with Lisa and was taken back exactly on time. She spent a good bit of time listening and talking to me about what I wanted and why I was nervous and made me feel completely at ease. Yes, I agree with some of the posts that is takes them a while if you are getting a cut and color, but it was so relaxing and so worth the wait. I have never had a better experience in my life, and have already scheduled my next appointment with Lisa. Well worth the time and money. more

Based on the first few reviews of this salon, I was excited to get an appointment the next afternoon since it is closer to my home than my old salon. But I should've read ALL the reviews b'c they tell the same story I'm telling here. I was left waiting from the moment I walked in the door until the moment I left FOUR HOURS later. Asking me if I'm comfortable 400 times isn't the same as finishing my hair before taking another client and ignoring me while tending to other clients. I was in such a rush to get out of there that I didn't notice until I got out in the daylight that the color wasn't even close to what I asked for. I can't believe a suburban salon charged me $200 to look almost exactly the same as when I came in & pressured me into buying high-priced products that aren't even working! For that kind of money, I saw another Best-of-Philly master stylist at a Best-of-Philly spa & salon, was in and out within 2 hours, and was thrilled with my hair! I shouldn't have messed with a good thing. I was so upset I called the next day and made an appointment to have it fixed the next evening. I thought it looked better until I saw it in the morning. In the light of day my coworker pointed out the huge gaps between highlights, the absence of highlights in the back of my head, and orangeish inconsistent color. I won't bother trying to have it fixed a third time. I am horrified that this happened twice already, but even more horrified that I trusted the positive reviews about this salon. I'm going back to my high-priced Best-of-Philly salon where I know I'll get what I pay for. Save your time and your money!!!!!!!! After I had moved from Manhattan last year I had a hard time figuring out what beauty/spa was good in the Philly area. For the past year plus I would take the train into NYC every month or two and pay top dollar for my hair. I wanted to find something in the Philly area, but I am extremely picky and was hesitant to take a "chance." I spent a lot of time researching salons and heard about Salon Desante. I am glad I gave it a chance because I thought Lisa did a fantastic job on my hair color! I Went back a second time to have my color done, and once again Lisa did an excellent job. I worked directly with Frank for over five years and I have been a close friend of his for 15 years. I know there is no way in on earth that you asked anyone in Salon DeSante - or anywhere else for that matter about Frank and got a negative response. Frank DeSante is nothing less than a true gentleman and you would be lucky if even glanced in your direction! How dare you lie about Frank in a public forum like this- if you were so damn "uncomfortable" why didn't you say something to him? Why go to a website like a coward and vilify this man? Was Frank really "inappropriate" or is that Frank really didn?t pay any attention to you besides doing your hair? Maybe you're not only paranoid and a liar but you are also desperate and pathetic?! I am responding to ginat also. I have known Frankie since he was in the 6th grade. He was cutting my hair in his garage long before he became the master you all know. He cuts my wife's hair and does my two daughter's hair too and they all adore him and certainly believe he is worth the wait. He is a true gentleman and if he was looking it was because perfection is his goal and he wants all the pieces to fit. It is so wrong to speculate on what he was thinking or why he was looking. Frank again is a TRUE GENTLEMAN nothing less would be acceptable to him. Frank is a master of his craft and a true gentleman and good things come to those who wait. more

I've been getting my hair done by Frankie for over 15 years and I drive from Voorhees, New Jersey . Frankie is a very professional and respectable individual. I can't believe that a person like yourself can be so miserable to want to try and destroy this mans reputation. If anyone like myself know's Frankie, know's he would never disrespect anyone, knor make inappropriate comments to anyone especially his clients. Frankie is a very talented and unique person. It is clearly obvious that you have a personal vendetta against him so, my advice to you is "get over it and move on" and by the way, anyone who reads reviews like yours know those accusations are false so, why dont you stop waisting your time energy trying to ruin Frankie's well known successful business and put some of that energy you have in changing your life and making yourself a happy person. I recently moved up here from Miami and have been looking for a talented stylist in the Philadelphia area to help keep my hair looking its best. I read all of the positive reviews on Salon DeSante and decided to give it a shot. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and taken care of. The staff is extremely attentive and considerate. The owner, Frank, took care of me and I have to say, I haven't been as pleased with my hair in a very long time. He took the time to listen to me and then make suggestions that would work with my personality and lifestyle. He is a true artist that takes his time and really listens to make sure you walk out a happy customer. Well, I did and will be back because of his ability to create beautifully colored and cut hair. He is meticulous and knows his trade very well. I won't trust my hair to anyone else now that I have found him. If you decide to give Salon DeSante a chance, I am sure you won't be disappointed. I can't even imagine going anywhere else! I have been a client of Frank DeSante for fifteen years. I work in a salon in New Jersey and still travel 31 miles each way for Frank. His knowledge and expertise in color are worth the distance and I always leave there with the latest cut from Paris. I have never left there feeling anything but fabulous. Something you can never find in New Jersey. I always receive so many compliments on my cut and color. Frank is a firm believer in consistantly educating himself and his staff to be" the best" at what they do, and they are. They always go above and beyond and will accomodate anything you wish. The salon is very professional but has a casually relaxed atmosphere. I always feel like I'm right at home. The music is great and if you're lucky you might even get to hear a few notes from Frank himself. more

I've gotten my hair cut and colored there four times. Great cut! Fabulous color! They really listen and suggest and explain...... BUT all four times I've had to wait a ridiculous amount of time. It makes me feel like they know how good they are so they expect people to put up with long waits. It's definately a place to go only if you have nothing else to do in your life. I have been a faithful customer of Salon DeSante for 3 years now and I find the comments of ?msmgw? to be unfair, untrue, misleading and very juvenile. My personal experiences at Salon DeSante have been nothing but exceptional and I have found my stylist to communicate well, deliver what I want, found the customer service to be unsurpassed and the prices are reasonable. Judging from the comments of ?msmgw? this seems to be a fruitless, personal attack on Frank and his salon (FYI?This is not a place to display personal grievances. ) Let me ask you something? Did you communicate with your stylist if you were unsatisfied with the service? And if you were unsatisfied with the so-called lack of cleanliness, why did you stay? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.... Whom ever wrote the last review about Salon Desante must of been dreaming. I mean that in a bad way. The Salon is great. The staff is unbelievable. Courteous, friendly, willing to go that extra mile. The salon staff does not write their own reviews. I have been a customer for 2 years and have never been treated with more respect than I have been treated at Salon Desante. I used to go to another Salon in Ridley for years. When my regular stylist was not available to do my hairone time, another one was appointed to me. She ruined my hair. I paid $100 that day, asked to come in the next day to have it corrected, and was charged by the owner another $100!!! I left after that and never looked back. Frank, who is my stylist @ Salon DeSante wants you to look and feel your best before walking out of there and I never leave unsatisfied. He is a true talent as well as the rest of the stylists there. Frank goes above and beyond and it shows when you look in the mirror. The staff makes you feel special and they seem like one, big happy family. I say shame on you whoever wrote the last review. I had a great experience at Salon DeSante. My stylist Regina did a great job cutting and coloring my hair. She listened to me and had some great ideas to make me look beautiful. The manicurist at Salon DeSante is unbelievable. The experiance takes all your stresses away and calms your nerves. Not to mention the service of the rest of the salon employees who are always making sure you are comfortable with something to drink or in need of anything else. The manicure is just the icing on the cake if you decide to get a pedicure as well. The pedicure includes a wonderful foot massage and the most relaxing foot soak. My mom just recently did a walk and her feet were cracked so the pedicurist took an extra step of wrapping her feet and warming them to let the lotion soak in better. When you recieve a manicure while your nails are drying the manicurist massages your shoulders. It is to die for, the whole experiance!!! Pros: The entire staff are so friendly and helpful more

I had a wonderful experience at Salon Desante. Not only were they professional, courteous and helpful, they simply made my experience pleasant.
