Salon 2000 Day Spa

As a new customer, I arrived at Salon 2000 for my 2:30 p.m. appointment five minutes early. I then proceeded to wait for 35 minutes. I finally gave up and left at 3:05 p.m. I watched my stylist the last ten minutes of my wait assisting her last customer in picking out eye shadow. I understand things can get backed up. However, I don't expect to sit and watch my stylist discuss make up when she is already running 25 minutes behind on my appointment. The other kicker is there was no apology by the receptionist when I left and no attempt in my 35 minute wait to apologize for the delay or even try to explain why there was a delay. This is Aveda - - It is sad to see this salon represents their brand! more

The Owner (Carmen) and the "general manager" (Carolyn) are VERY unprofessional The buisiness is run poorly, and needs updating. The service providers work very hard to privide great services with the tools they have to do their jobs. Service providers work hard and when it comes time to get paid they have to fight for what they have earned (trust me I know this for a fact) its just not right. The owner and managment dont take any responsibility for the fact that the employees are treated like garbage. It is always someone else's fault. I am surprised the Salon has be open and has lasted open as long as it has. Please do yourself a favor and think twice about where you go to get your services done and who they money is really going to. more

I have been to this salon twice for a manicure/pedicure. I expected more from an Aveda salon. My manicure lasted 3 days before the polish chipped. My nails were not filed and were left ragged. I have received many better quality mani/pedi from a mall "quick nails" stop at half the price. I could do a better job myself. Pros: Parking, easy to get an appointment more

I've been here twice for a pedicure, only because I thought maybe the first visit was a fluke. Stood at the counter and was ignored by two staff members when I just wanted to check in. Furnishings and interior are out-dated, saw some spots on the wall that needed paint - badly. The pedicures weren't bad but nothing extraordinary. I have been going to Salon 2000 Day Spa in Eden Prairie for over five years. When you walk into the Salon, you are always greeted by a friendly staff and made to feel welcome. I have always gotten a great haircut and color. What I really appreciate is if the color is not quite what I wanted, my hairdresser is always willing to work with me at no extra cost. She will always take the time to make sure I am happy with the results. She will go the extra mile and say think about and come back another day if I am still not satisfied. There are very few places that would do that. I never have to worry about leaving unhappy. My elderly mother was visiting from out of town for a few months and went on a weekly basis for a shampoo and set. All the staff within a very short time knew my mom on a first name basis and made her feel welcome and wanted. They still ask about her to this day. As a woman, you always want your hair to look nice - there is nothing worse then having a haircut you dislike. It's great having that comfort and confidence with your hair dresser. Carmen is completely unprofessional and lacks business etiquate which is then a bi-product of their work. Outrageous pricing and lacking in a "spa" like feel. Love Aveda-but not Salon 2000 more

I went there for a massage, the therapist, Jennifer, asked if there was anything I wanted focused on, I said my feet. The massage was so-so...not relaxing or nice at all...in fact I wished it would be over when it started and I didn't get much focus on my feet at all. After I paid and left, I received a call from the salon saying that they forgot to charge me for the "reflexology" session that I asked for and will charge my card $20 for that. I said I did not ask for a reflexology session at all, I just answered to the therapist on where I wanted the massage to be concentrated on. At the massage therapy that I usually go to...the feet is inclusive and part of the massage, and do a better job, not just the feet overall body and really listen to your concerns. In fact I have been to other therapeutic massage center and the feet is ususally included! I hate to write negative reviews, but I have had a bad experience previously here with massage and reception before...so I will not be returning. Haircuts are good here, but I have already cancelled my haircut appt....I do not want to return there ever. Regarding massage...OK, I learned my lesson, I'm only sticking with my favorite massage therapy center and therapist from now on! You would think a trained massage therapist would be all good...or a spa would be all nice...I have learned that that is definitely not so.... Originally went there, because I need to go to Eden Prairie once a week on Saturdays, so thought it would be convenient to get a haircut etc, there too..but I do not want to ever set foot there again, ever. Salon 2000 has provided me with some of the best days of my life over the last 10 years or so. I think I've tried just about every service they offer and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the hydrotherapy with the shower heads aligned over my spine. I have always experienced excellent service there. I recommend Salon 2000 very highly to anyone who is looking to try something new or to do the same with new people. more

You can expect a complete Aveda Concept Salon which includes hair, nails, various types of massage and other specialty spa sevices as well. I have known Carmen for many years. She has very high standards for her staff and the salon. You will find a very relaxed atmosphere where the staff is impeccably trained to make your experience enjoyable. My favorite relaxing service is the spa pedicure! I know first hand that she has also been involved in raising money for various projects in our community. A very good friend who loves having things done to her body recommended Carmen and Salon 2000. I tried it out over five years ago and have never been anywhere else since. Carmen has had consistently good ideas for cut and color - she doesn't just do the same old every six weeks. I have also used the spa facilities. My friend got me hooked on the wonderful spa pedicures. The facials are wonderful. I would really like to spend one whole day there at least once a month and take advantage of all the wonderful services offered. The whole environment is calm, luxurious and spotless. They also have a great selection of Aveda products. more

Wow I was referred by a co-worker and I am forever greatful. I am new to the area and very paticular about my hair. I had my hair colored and cut by one of their Master stylists. I was more than happy. I was content with my hair the way it was but the stylist suggested a few changes that gave me that extra wow factor!!! My stylists gave me her recommendation for my next visit and I already have it scheduled. No more waiting and having bad hair days. I will be a loyal client forever. One more great thing is that I can have all of my spa service done there too. Spring is coming and I am a waxer. Legs, underarms, and bikini. Oh did I mention they give you store credit for referring people. What a cool thing. Thanks to Salon 2000 I will be looking great from head to toe. I tried the new Chakra massage for Valentines Day. Both my husband and I have been customers at Salon 2000 since we moved to Eden Prairie over 10 years ago. We have referred friends and family members and they have become long-time customers as well. The service is consistently good and the staff is skilled and conscientious. What I've come to appreciate the most are the little "extras" that are part of the salon experience. My salon services have always include a scalp and neck massage with aromatherapy oils, a hand massage with paraffin dip and a make-up retouch at the end. I feel so pampered and relaxed every time I leave. The spa area is cozy and inviting. The steam shower is definitely a hight point. I've had waxings, massages, and facials over the years with a variety of technicians and have never been disappointed. One thing that truly sets Salon 2000 apart from other salons is the owner's belief in giving back to the community through it's "Pampering Partnerships" program, which offers free spa treatments to cancer patients going through chemotherapy. I have been a long time customer of Salon 2000 and love it! Our entire family has gone there for years and we really appreciate the consistency and quality of our services. All 5 of us get our haircut there, I also get mine colored and highlighted. I also get waxing services, have had mani/pedis, massages, facials and electrolysis! We are always greeted in a friendly manner, offered something to drink, hang up our coats and are quickly greeted by our service provider! If there is ever ANY issue with any of your services, you are guaranteed that they will make it right! I also purchase product there and again, they have a unconditional return policy. Since we have been going there for so long, there have been some turnover with some of our stylists, but we are referred to someone of equal talent and have been satisfied with their abilities. I have been a customer of Salon 2000 Day Spa for over 10 years. While the average customer changes salons on average every 2 years, the longevity of my relationship with Salon 2000 is a testimony to their excellent service and consistent performance, along with my complete satisfaction! The Tower Square location has come to feel like ?home,? as I am warmly greeted each visit, recognized, and pampered with offerings of tea, coffee or water, relieved of my coat, and escorted to the appropriate location for my service. My stylist or spa technician always listens intently to my requests and needs, and graciously offers recommendations. My hair takes the same color differently after a few applications, so my stylists frequently reformulates my color , and comes up with exciting new combinations that work beautifully with my tempermental hair. They are all true professionals and deliver gorgeous and consistent results, whether a hair service or spa treatment. My afternoons there are a treat as I enjoy their warm, friendly, and conversational atmosphere. But what I?ve come to love and keeps me coming back month after month is the value-added services that Salon 2000 includes with their regular hair services ? hand and arm massage, paraffin hand treatment, scalp massage, hot towel hair conditioning, and make-up touch up! I have been going to Salon 2000 since I moved here 11 years ago from PA. From the moment I walked in and the owner, Carmen directed me to a salon professional who was a good match for me, I have always had a positive experience. I have felt listened to, respected, and my hair always looks great -- color and cut! I think the salon has wonderful customer service -- they take your coat, offer you a drink, massage your hands after a hairwash and offer great promotions. I have been a client in the spa area as well. It is rejuvenating just to go back there! I have had wonderful massages and am always feeling better when I leave. It is also a socially conscious business. They offer free services for customers undergoing cancer treatment, created a team for the cancer 3 day walk, and work with worthy organizations who need their support. I can't imagine a reason I would go any where else when the treatment I get always makes me feel special! more

I've been to Salon 2000 many, many times. My services have always been great! One time, I did try another Salon (I was out of town) and my hair was bleached badly by the coloring. It took Salon 2000 a few times, and many months later of cuts and reshaping, and we finally got it back to looking great. I am so thankful to know where I can get good service! Now, I drive a few hours just to have my hair done. The Spa is also great - nice and relaxing, and good talent in the Spa area. I love the Aveda concepts part of the salon and spa - always nice products. I've been to multiple other places trying to find a place closer, but usually end up getting burned and heading back to Salon 2000. Thanks, gals! I wanted to add a lift to my natural hair color... some deep browns with auburn. I said I am going to a wedding this coming weekend and wanted something to take out my gray hair coming in. The hair stylist showed me a picture of Sandra Bullock from her personal notebook. I thought that would be great. She planned to just do a tint to my natural color to make it deeper and then go through with reds. I thought that sounds right after we both looked at the picture - that is what I'm getting... right - wrong. I got a deeper color overall but then there were RED stripes in my hair!!! It was a red like you would see on a candy cane. I was upset, but still pleasant to the girl. I told her expect this red... it isn't at all like the Sandra Bullock picture she showed me. She said it would wash out over time. Then I reminded her I am to go to a wedding this weekend - not just any wedding, but that of my brother and I will be in family pictures. Then she said I can take you back to detox your hair then. She walked me back to the hair wash station and she was very awful to me. She didn't lift the foot rest and she didn't put a towel down for my neck. This was her fault and I wasn't even mean and here she is being unprofessional. Then we went back to her color station and the color was the same. I said this just wouldn't work. She said she could go through my hair again and put in a darker brown to help. Okay, she did this. Once done, it looked really bad. I still had streaks of red but helter skelter and then chunks of dark brown. I still paid my fee. I left there very unhappy. I made an emergency appointment at a top salon in MPLS. They couldnt' believe a place would do something like this. They said it was a 90's way of applying foils. They would never have put real "RED" in light brown hair!!! Bad work... by the way, my same night of the appointment at Salon 200, I had a bikini wax - she didn't trim, and the result was hair breaking off - not pulling out... bad service too. I had received a gift certificate to this salon from a friend of mine. When I called to book my appointment I was on hold for about half and hour and then got hung up on! So when I did call back I finally got to book my appointment. Now for the good part, when I showed up there, no one even said hello and they were all exteremely rude. Then during my appointment I was taken back by another stylist who was next to mine with one of her clients. She was speaking so rudely about one of the staff members that I couldn't believe it. She just kept going on and on about it. Then when I went to go check out, that same stylist who was speaking so rudely came up to say her goodbye to her client. So after the stylist had left the front desk I told one of the receptionist about her behavior. The receptionist then informned me that she was the owner!!! What?!!?
