This was my AC's problem. Temperature would climb 3-4 degrees and the AC would not blow cold air. It would run constantly. \r Erich came out to look at the problem, he forgot his ladder so he started by looking at the condensor unit outside since it is a split unit. A few minutes later he came back in to explain that there really was no problem. I reiterated my situation to him and he decided to check the air handler in the attic. Since he forgot his ladder he requested to borrow mine.\r A few minutes later Erich tells me replacing the TXV valve with a piston will fix the problem. I ask if it would affect my warranty since it did not come with a piston. He says it would not, so I agreed since it would fix my AC. \r A few hours pass by then he comes back in and shows me a melted start assist. Almost as if to say, oh by they way, I found this too. Not really stating its importance. \r In the end the entire bill came out to $660 (4hours@$74bucks a half hour). \r After I made the payment and he left I started to question his abilities. He did fix my AC, although the bill was a bit high. When he checked my condensor outside why did he not find the melted start assist? Why did he have to replace the TXV valve in the attic before deciding to go back outside and take another closer look at the condensor?\r I could be wrong but in my view it seems as though the start assist may have been the cause of my problems and not the TXV valve. Erich could have been more helpful by explaining his troubleshooting steps. He could have also warned me how long it would take to complete the job or even explain to me what my options are. Not just telling me I need a piston.\r In the end I have my AC fixed and my wallet a little empty. In the future I am not going to hesitate to stand over the repairman's back and ask questions when required. I guess I was a little too trusting this time around. more

The Best in Town! 5/26/2009

My husband and I are new to Tucson, we recently bought a house last year and we have needed to hire different tradesmen for different services. Almost all of the time we have been dissapointed with the quality of work and the customer service. So, when we asked to have our AC serviced by Russett Southwest we didnt have much expectations, but they are better than just great. During a routine maintenance they discovered that my AC was not working right. Instead of trying to "" sell me"" services or other fees they took care of it without charging us a dime. Our service guy Wyatt was so nice and thorough and determined to find and fix our problem. This level of customer service and dedication is rare here in Tucson. I highly recommend this company. If you dont believe my review, look at their record on the better biz. bureau. They have zero complaints. I know because before calling them I did my homework, read online reviews went on the better biz. bureau website. I never write reviews unless the service is really bad or really good. In this case the service was excellent! I hope my review helps others like me who are trying to find decent good people to use for services Pros: Honest, nice, affordable more

Most Honest Company Out There!! 6/18/2008

Russett Southwest is awesome! I was 8 months pregnant when my AC stopped working and my house was only 2.5 years old! I called a local company called Rite Way to come check out the problem. They told me that my fan motor wasn't working and that they could fix it for $800 that night. Needless to say, I couldn't afford $800 that night since I had to pay them $120 diagnostic fee just for coming out on an overtime rate. I found a sticker on my AC unit and called Russett to see if the AC was possibly still under warranty and thankfully the parts were, but the labor was not. The telephone operator for Russett explained to me that I would have to pay for the installation of the new fan motor, but that he could get a worker out there that day to fix it and that it would cost less than $200. Later a Russett worker came out, fixed it in 45 min and the price was only $159 including tax! They saved me a ton of money. About 30 min. after the Russett worker left from fixing my AC, he came back to my home and told me that he was on his way home and realized that he had accidentally overcharged me by $40 and that it should have only been $119 final price. He gave me my check back, and I wrote him a new one for less money. The honesty and integrity of this company is unheard of. I would have never known that he overcharged me, but he took the time to come back to my house to admit his mistake!! I highly recommend this company to anyone!!! Pros: very personable, nice, HONEST, timely more
