Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We recently discovered that we had leak in a pipe in our basement....it was spraying all over the place!!! We immediately called Roto-Rooter and our plumber, Louie, who was on a job at that moment, returned our call right away. He gave us a very reasonable timeframe for when he could get to us, instructed us to turn off the water, and he would call us when he was on the way. He did call us, but unfortunately it was to tell us that the job was running over. No worries though, he had already arranged for another plumber to come in his place and she would be there shortly. And she was. She was very sweet and very knowledgeable, and had the problem taken care of in about 30 minutes. We were very impressed by both of these employees. I do not know of another company where employees take the time to stay in touch and let you know what is happening. Most places have a "you'll see me when you see me" attitude, but not here. It is not only impressive, but refreshing in this day and age. You can be sure that we will continue to use this company for our plumbing problems....they are impressive in their "old school" customer service as well as their expertise. more

Joel came out just in time as my sink would not drain! He quietly looked around, surveyed the situation and within a few hours my sink was draining as it should. He was great with his explanations, attitude and presence. more

We called Roto-Rooter to have some routine maintainace done, and it turned out we needed to have serious work done on ou drainage pipes. When Wilson, the service technician came to the house, he was very knowledgable and professional. He made a decision to look at the inside of the pipes with a camera and he found this problem with our pipes,and he actually saved us money! Instead of just putting the product we needed in the pipes he took the initiative to check them out first-Thank you Wilson! We will definatly continue to use this company! more

After waiting for 4 days for a local plumber to come fix two leaking faucets, I finally decided to call Roto-Rooter out of the Providence office. From the time of my call on Friday evening on 12-31-2010, I was kept informed of the technician arrival by looking online. When the two hour window was about to expire I received a call from the dispatcher indicating that the plumber was still involved on the last job and could have a plumber out to my home on New Year's Day at no extra charge to fix my problems. I had to have the problem solved before selling the home in the next 3 days and was surprised that the plumber would come on a holiday. Mr. Bill Hughes, the technician, was courteous, professional, a gentlemen at all times. He was honest and fair about what could and could not be done. At the end of the repair, he was about to complete the repairs 100%. I would use Roto-Rooter again based on this experience - especially because of Mr. Bill Hughes. more

Dec. 22, 2010 By John Visich, Cranston My main waste water drain was backed up and after a fruitless attempt on my own to clear the line with a small snake I decided to call Roto-Rooter instead of renting a machine. Apolo arrived around 5:00 and he first attacked the clog from the junction in the front of the house. It was cold and windy, but Apolo first started outside at the pipe entry in my front yard. He cleared the pipe to the sewer line, then he went back towards the house until he couldn't go any further. He put the camera in the pipe and I could see the roots clogging the pipe. He then lugged the machine to my basement and with a 3" end cleared the pipe until he hit a U-shaped trap (he initially thought my pipe had collapsed but later he realized the 3" end could not negotiate up the other side of the trap). Apolo then put on a smaller end and was able to break the clog clear through the U. I could hear the water rushing by from the outside pipe entry. When he pulled the line back in the end was a big ball of roots and baby wipes. A quick check with the camera showed the line clear and the camera was able to negotiate past the U to the outside pipe entry location. Apolo went the extra effort to make sure he knew what he was dealing with and he didn't try to sell me that I needed to have my yard dug up to fix a collapsed pipe. He made sure he tried all the things he could do to clear the line. Having worked in the construction industry for a number of years it was clear to me that Apolo knew what he was doing. Apolo was also very good about keeping the mess to a minimum and he was also very friendly. I would definitely call them back for service, though I doubt it will be for my drain line as Apolo cleaned it out real good. more

I had a back-up in my basement and immediately called Roto-Rooter in Providence. Wilson and Jim arrived and went right to work. They worked very diligently to clear a blockage in my main waste water line from the house to the sewer. They isolated the blockage...and worked at it for over two hours...but to no avail. They immediately got Joe D., an engineer from Roto-Rooter involved. Wilson and Jim involved me in the whole process of discovery and resolution. These guys really know there stuff and aren't afraid to go the extra mile to try to satisfy. I would gladly call them back for the next plumbing emergency. more

Had a terrible problem... main line to sewer backed up into house, flooding basement with stuff too nasty to discuss. Dispatcher cheerful, helpful. Promised quick service (near midnight on a Sunday in Providence, RI!). Plumber arrived earlier than scheduled. Explained work, fee schedule, quickly got to work and fixed the problem. He cleaned up the mess that backed up into the shower drain, as well as cleaned up after himself where he performed the clean-out! Again, explained what he found, and what possible options existed for preventing the problem again. Performed a root treatment at the same time. Very personable and professional. I very much appreciated his coming at the late hour that he did! more

Jim Hoxeng ,plumber, from the 1195 Broad St Providence,RI was excellent. He arrived promptly and was very professional. He explained the inspection and estimate. The repair was performed exactly as the estimate. They also gave me recommendations for a future repair . Both plumbers were very polite and professional. Great Job!!!! more

I called Roto-Rooter on November 24th in regards to my drain being very sluggish, the providence branch at 1195 Broad Street Providence, RI imediately gave me an appointment. The plumber who came to my house was Ann, she was very helpful and in a short time had my problem solved. I would not hesitate to call them again or would be please ro recommend them to friends. more

The kitchen sink had been clogged, but not completely, for several months. We thought the problem had been solved a few months ago when a friend did some work on the basement drain pipe, but just three days before Thanksgiving and a house full of guests, I ran the water for a minute or so, and... Oh no! The double sink backed up! In desperation I went to a local hardware store and bought some over-the-counter, heavy-duty drain cleaner. I followed directions, but the problem persisted. The next morning I called Roto-Rooter in Providence. The plumber was on the scene within a couple of hours. He was professional and informative, and... he got the job done! A happy Thanksgiving!! Terry (3377) arrived on-time and was courteous and professional. We feel that he went out of his way to assist us. We needed to replace our 18-22 year old water heater and it took a little to update the system! The price was extremely fair. This is the third or fourth time we have used Roto-Rooter and we have always gotten fantastic work and a great attitude. more

Bill came out very quickly and explained what could be wrong with the water heater. If the pilot light went out again he said the best thing to do was to replace it. I did not know at the time the water heater was over 18 years old. He was correct. Bill was courteous and efficient. We had used Roto-Rooter before and were always pleased. We had them replace the heater the next day. Price was excellent. more

WE HAD A TOILET IN OUT BATHROOM THAT WAS MOVING ALOT AND ALSO A LEAKY FAUCET IN THE SAME BATHROOM. jIM REAIRED THE TOILET WITH A NEW STAINLESS STEEL SEAL AND NOW THE TOILET IS STABILIZED AND OUR SINK NO LONGER DRIPS. hE ARRIVED AT THE STATED TIME AND ALWAYS KEPT US INFORMED ABOUT WHAT HE WAS DOING. "plumber" and "Providence" My husband suggested we call Roto-Rooter when we had a major main sewer line problem ,I wasn't sure what to expect, It was the right decision, from the person who answered the first phone call to the plumbers Anne Flores and Jim who showed up when they said they would, both are very knowledgeable and friendly. Anne told us what was going on, gave us an estimate and went right to work. The town had to come out, an engineer called and all taken care of by Ann. Very professional job done by everyone. Had the misfortune of experiencing a clogged waste line but fortunate enough to know to call for a Roto-Rooters plumber. Not only did they arrive within an hour of calling, I received an ETA and an email confirmation within minutes of my call for help. Plumbers Anne Flores and Jim assessed the situation then immediately got to work. After cabling the sewer pipes to the septic, they inserted a special camera (at no extra charge) to complete their diagnostics. We followed their advice and instructions; within hours we were up and running. We found Anne to be very knowledgeable on septic systems , extremely hard working, very friendly and professional. They accepted a coupon we printed off their website (which had no expiration date) and already scheduled a visit a year from now to provide us with product used to ensure proper functioning. Highly recommended for anyone in the Providence or Tiverton area. more

Very knowledgeable plumber. Jim came in looked at it explain in detail what he was going to do to sink and tub drain. These were very old P- traps and then got right to work. In about a half hour he came up to me and said " You should go play the lottery tonight luck has it your all fixed. Unbelieveable because the way he explain to me how old the traps were and the location I did not believe it could be done without spending more money I did not have. Jim cleaned up and smiled and said call us anytime !! I won't ever call anyone but Roto-Rooter. Can't say enough good things about this visit. more

Frantic call from home - sewage in the basement. Called Providence Roto-Rooter at 3:30 and got a call back 5 minutes later saying someone would be there by 4:00. Very knowledgeable plumber (very old system that he was the first to understand) got right to work. Unbelieveable - arms right up to his elbow in s**t. By 6:30 he was done, had taken pictures and had cleaned up. Can't say enough good things about this visit. more

Eddie and Russell provided excellent service and navigated the quirks in our old home. They were prompt and efficient and we were back in business within an hour. 10/15/2010 They showed respect for out house and cleaned up. 10/15/2010 more
